We haven't seen the full costume yet. I'm quite sure that she wears a skirt (a la Zafina) underneath which would really complement the rest of her outfit. The color might look a bit darker than it actually is because of the dark surroundings.

I don't know why people don't like the "Egyptian" kind of look they gave her. Most of the Edenians have had Arabic/Middle Eastern inspired costumes in the past, so an Egyptian look makes perfect sense for Tanya imo.

I'm just comparing the same deception outfites from the waist up, both of which cover more skin (alternate and primary) than the belly-bearing one shoulder wrap thing she is wearing.

Her perceived 'Egyptian' influenced design doesn't make her any more of her own character, it just erases everything she Was known for before by changing the design that helped her gain so many fans in the first place.

I'm not crying over anything. tanya and temor are Dream dlc for me. But it is laughable that you think this design is better than her or even comparable to her deception designs.

I still don't get how you can compare if you don't know what the full model looks like, you can't see the back and you can't see what she is wearing, you can only see the top, so I wonder how did you get to that conclusion.

I can prove you wrong, I wasn't never interested in Tanya, after seeing her MKX design, I got interested in her, so the Egyptian design does make her more interesting for a person who doesn't like characters that look the same, that's not to say if they went with a different design she would look like Kitana or Mileena, that would just mean that she wouldn't have anything special going for her.

Honestly, how many Egyptian looking females do we have in MK? Tanya was always the closest to that.

I'm glad that she is a DLC you wanted to see, but I HONESTLY don't see how you got to the conclusion of this design is worse than the MKD when you have not seen the full design and got a good look at it it in motion.

Mileena's Aribaic inspired deception look worked because it was all about the idea of a concealed identity. The veil was a genius way of concealing her tarkatan features while still yet playfully revealing it.

Jade's Amazonian inspired look works because it embellishes her 'exoticness'. (The original woman of color). And also (I won't lie) I think it also has to do with the color green and the Amazon being all jungle like.

Kitana and Sindels I don't really see as being inspired by any culture.

So why Egyptian for Tanya? Because yellow/gold? Because bangs?

Both mileena and jades inspired looks were adapted to their MK ninja personas well, but Tanya's doesn't seem to mesh well with her old look. It could possibly work if done right, but as it currently stands, her costume (mainly her top, which doesn't reflect Tanya or any of the other MKX female designs) just doesn't do it.

And I dont see NRS changing her attire. .

I'm digging the Egyptian look, but I will miss her Deception incarnation. As surprising and even nonsensical as they were at first, I grew to like the white-out eyes and the semi-skirt, as well as the long hair. This current model needs some polishing, but I think it'll look fine in-game.

I'm more expectant of her gameplay, however. I wonder what ideas they're implementing around her sorcery.

Exactly. I am going by ONLY what you would see in all three cases, what's not to get? Both deception costumes cover her midriff, and tho her primary exposes cleavage, it's not to the 'Mileena' degree but more of a Kitana level exposure.

IMO, old Tanya was actually edenian while this Tanya is a poor knockoff Egyptian stereotype. maybe you had an Egyptian fanboy fantasy about a new character and Tanya fulfills that for you, but Tanya deserves better.

As stated before, I'm fine with everything about her. The only thing I'm iffy on is her face but that will most likely be tweaked by time of release. I think a lot of people are going to be changing their tunes soon. Kano and Cassie also got a ton of flack when we first saw them.

I have just been looking for deeper reasons to understand your stance on Tanya, other than she was 'a generic whore before but now she's Egyptian so she has an identity now and I love her' argument.

My only complaints about Tanya's new appearance are the things that I've complained about EVERY female so far....the face model just doesn't look good, and she would look better with longer hair. Its obvious that Nether Realm has problems with programming both of these, and there's nothing we can really do about it.

However, I do LOVE her new outfit. Egyptian wasn't the first thing to come to my mind. I saw it as being very bohemian and gypsy-esque, but that's just me. I love the beads, the eye make up, and the sash....very cool design!

I just wish that they had given her her MK4 ponytail, because the bob cut looks awkward in my opinion. The long hair edit in the OP looks fantastic IMO.

Exactly. The outfit is absolutely grand, I do not see why people are nitpicking that. The face? Ok yeah, that I can see, but everything else is fine.

I don't mind the direction. Its like the 2 hot Egyptian chicks that fight in the mummy. I think the longer hair was better but maybe the tech isn't on par yet. Does anyone have long hair in mkx so far? I can't think of any.

I think the issue is that she was revealed alongside Tremor and Predator who were certainly two bigger surprises.

It's not like I am the one who start with the "Fantasy" argument, I was have a discussion about her design, a discussion which you only took from is "She is Egyptian so I like her" which isn't the reason I like her.

I like her because as I stated before, she is no longer slut #4, people won't look at her now and say "Oh that's the fourth female ninja" now people will look at her and say "Oh yeah that's the Egyptian chick" If she was from ancient Greek or Rome, I would have took that as well.

The reason I like her is not that she looks like an Egyptian now, the reason I like her is because she is cooler now.

Could they have went with a different? Sure, as long as it would have been interesting to the MKU I would have loved it.

Why do you think people like Erron Black so much? He is different and cool and it's nice to have that in the MKU.

So to put it simply, I like her because she is different than the other females, but I'm not surprised that before, all you understood was "Oh she is Egyptian looking, he likes Egyptian looking females because of some sick fantasy" that's the extent of your mind.

Tanya is one of my favorite characters, and there are a few things that bug me about this design:

1. She looked like a black woman in previous games
2. They changed her color scheme. I do think it's kinda okay, since they were going for Egyptian/Royalty, but it's still weird. I hope the greenish gold and purple are yellow and black in her P2 color.
3. I wish the Y/flame design was more prominent, but we can see hints of it in her gloves and skirt.

I can accept the necklace as the choker has always been a part of her design, but I liked the choker better. That's not a big deal to me though. I'm glad that her symbol wasn't totally left out. I'm also glad her pupils are back.

The costume did grow me on a lot, but my favorite is her MKD alternate, which was just an updated MK4 costume.

If I was a betting man I'd say most of these characters aren't even close to being finished

Right now everything about her looks awful imo. She has this sickly skin color, her hair looks like a cheap wig, and I can't see enough of her outfit to judge tbh. I really have to wait and see what it looks like finished.
