You know honestly... now that you mention it...

You could completely delete D'Vorah from the game, and stick Tanya into her story, and it would still make sense and be completely in character for Tanya.

She worked for Shinnok in MK4, but got exposed, so stayed in Outworld and became an evil minion to Kahn and Onaga later.

So say in MKX canon she never got exposed, and continued to secretly support the ruler of Outworld (Kotal), only to later betray him for her true master Shinnok.

It kinda... works perfectly.

Meanwhile, to fill Tanya's role, they could have just used any other old minion.

Even if Reptile had like 2 lines he showed more character and personality than his whole appearance in MK9. A whole chapter wouldn't have hurt given he's now a more neutral kind of character.

Yeah the Quan Chi/Shinnok/Tanya trio was kinda awesome in MK4, I was hoping we'd see that again. But I'm really happy with Mileena/Rain/Tanya. Too bad it was cut short so soon

It does actually kind of makes sense. Shinnok has two moles/plants within the leadership of both sides of the Outworld civil war. No matter who ends up getting the upper hand someone will have the opportunity to act. Sneaky, sneaky.

He fucking SLAMS Mileena though. It's great to see him finally have a bit of dialogue that's great.

To be completly honest i would hope to see some more STORY based DLC for MKX in the future based on the interest people have shown. Maybe not post games stuff, but more on tanya, rain, and some of the others would be nice.

Kinda makes me sad that rather than Lei mei, Sereena, rain, frost and others we're getting Tremor (WTF black dragon done nothing in this game lol), jason, and preadtor (Hunter?).

As far as those that I think have solid chances for coming back in terms of MKX's story and future returnee's;

Classics: Liu Kang, Sonya, Johnny, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Raiden, Kano, Shang Tsung, Reptile, Cyrax, Ermac, Noob, Rain, Tanya, Kenshi, Bo Rai Cho and Li Mei.

MKX: Kotal Kahn, Cassie and Takeda.

Rest is up in the air in my eyes.

I wish they had hyped up the Mileena/Rain/Tanya trio up more (as well as included Tanya/Rain in the initial roster)- I could've gone these past several months on cloud nine rather than biting my nails.


I'd love a render or poster of all three looking badass or something. Gosh, the possibilities!

Also, I heard there was a scene I've yet to see where Mileena says something along the lines of "My dearest Tanya". I need to find that if it exists!

The newbies mostly seem like they can replace 3D characters in my opinion

D'vorah: Tanya. This one's most apparent, no pun intended.
Ferra/Torr: Drahmin on Moloch
Kotal Kahn: He's kind of tough to differentiate and I don't see Onaga as a regular character. Maybe Reiko?
Cassie Cage: If there were no new characters, I would say Li Mei as they're both acrobatic. Otherwise hard to replace.
Takeda: Mavado
Jacqui: Seems to use technology, but I guess Ashrah would be decent to take her spot.
Kung Jin: Kai
Erron Black: Also someone who is hard to replace on top of being popular. I think Havik could go in his spot as Erron is on Team Kotal as Havik is backing Reiko.
Even the popular characters made revenants with non-canon default outfits should be replaced.

Kung Lao: Fujin
Kitana: Sareena
Liu Kang: Bo Rai Cho

In Kotal's chapter, when Mileena, Rain, and Tanya are spying on his carriage from a rooftop, Tanya says: "The Tarkatans are in position. We await your order", to which Mileena replies: "It is given, dearest Tanya".

Tanya then sneaks off to ambush Kotal.

Jade's revenant was never seen in MKX, but was just a glimpse in MK9 right? What if someone behind the scenes (another rebel demon like Ashrah or someone else) freed her soul from Quan Chi's control and resurrected her so Jade is actually alive and will appear in MK11? Could it be the mystery woman in her MK9 ending that have something to do with it? Could she actually be serving the Elder Gods behind the MKX storyline?
