Lets assume another saurian enters MK to replace Reptile.

It will basically be because NRS wants to strip Reptile of his Ninja roots.

We already saw how NRS nerfed human reptile in MK9.. they obviously want to distance reptile from his original human ninja past.

By bringing in a new Saurian in they can essentially have Reptile and allow him to wear/be anything they see fit.

Reptile hasn't truly looked acceptable since the 2D era- not counting his Shaolin Monks/Armageddon attire which I think remains his best look.

Icebaby, what I'm saying is that judging by the likes of Cassie, in a game where Ed's stated that we'll see descendants and kin of characters, Reptile is the perfect candidate to be part of that group. And while you may think him and Khameleon hooking up is a bullshit fanfic theory, it's been clearly shown MKX's plot isn't above it. I'm honestly expecting it.

As previously mentioned in this thread, the Kove is full of Saurian corpses - far from being dead last of his race, he's one of the last - as his MKII ending stated, they're "near extinct". It doesn't even have to be via Khameleon, but for a character whose entire plot thread has revolved around repopulating his species, in a game where we're supposedly going to see a few relatives, he's one of the best, if not THE best candidate for that. It's what he's always been about.

Ed's said it's going to be hard to continue the story after this. I smell another reboot coming not far off on the horizon, and I can't see Reptile just starting out on new adventures and opportunities while abandoning the one motivator he's had for ages now, not this late in the game. Especially not when the game might end, so to speak.

And you'll never see me saying Scorpion isn't stale. But unlike him, Reptile doesn't have the unfortunate stigma of a widely publicized rivalry which has been come to be known as one of the defining aspects of this series. One way or another, Scorpion and Sub-Zero are always going to have that going on. Reptile, on the other hand, has always been free to get the closure he deserves, and I think the time is right. Perfect even.

I, however, don't see Reptile being that character. If so, okay, he'll have a descendant, I won't cry a river about it. As of right now, I don't see Reptile being that character who has a kid coming in to take his place when there's still much more to do with the character. Some might not see what else is there to do with his character, others do. As of right now I am not convinced that Reptile is another character that has a kid, and as I stated, if he happens to have a kid, I would not be bothered by that. I will state, though, that I would prefer him doing the naughty with someone that isn't Khameleon. Just because I don't really care for obvious stuff.

I can dig Reptile being pure lizard or human. Doesn't matter for me, I liked his Mortal Kombat 4 and Shaolin Monks look as much as I dig the human disguise.

My only request is that they don't design him as that shitty creature they did for Deadly Alliance if they are to continue making him look more lizard-y.

I hated that look. I hated that goddamn tail they put on him that did absolutely nothing and moved nowhere near how a tail moves. It would have been at least a little bit better had they made him use his tail in a special, but did they? Nooooooo.

Ugh, I hated that repulsive look, may it never shed light again. There's other ways to make him look cooler than giving him a dumb lizard, dino, alligator fused look.

His DA look was garbage. Probably why I never played with him in that game.

I would rather see Reptile be a "ninja" because it would mean he would have to be cunning and intelligent. And Also it fits with his abilities (being able to go undetected- which is the entire premise of his character to begin with).

Whole reason Reptile got more lizardlike and dumber was that he was away from the rest of his race and matriarch for far too long. So, sadly, the more lizardlike he becomes the dumber he gets, or vice versa.

Lizardman DA Reptile was my favorite design, personally. Now I'm out of here before this here thread de-evolves into the thirty six thousandth one where people bicker about which form was "best for him". :P

In the age of alternate costumes (really hope we get alternates the amount pf injustice) I want both Human disguise and Primal lizard and in between outfits like SM and 9.

Reptile and Baraka are interesting in that I'd love to have those two back because they're my favs but I also wouldn't mind descendants because it can give NRS a new take on Tarkatans and Saurians that you might not have gotten with Reptile and Baraka. Gameplay/Character/Design wise. Personally I'd like to see a saurian or shokan on the side of good for once (yes I know about Goro but that was shortlived and pushed into the background)

On the other hand I want to see where Reptile/Baraka/Mileena and others go from here now that Kahn is gone.

Agreed. Hopefully, with MKX smaller roster they will be able to focus on all the characters enough by integrating their own personal motives into the main storyline instead of reducing most of the "badguys" to one dimensional punching-bags.

Case in point: Shang Tsung constantly gets the brunt of his anger when he's a much better character.
