Well, Rain was my favorite character. I'm a little bothered that Boon and company don't really see the potential in him. They made Reiko a total bad ass, and Rain is reduced to Mileena's "faithful servant" and Kotal's punching bag.

Between him and Jade, things aren't looking good for Edenia. I think this might hurt Tanya's chances too.

"He's not dead just yet, He's probably not playable in the game and He might come back in the comics looking for revenge on Kotal" is what I take from that.

I'm willing to bet that if Reptile and Rains roles were reversed you'd probably be gloating "HA good riddance to a stale character like Reptile!" while praising Rain.

Fact is Rain is a divisive character even during 9. Which is annoying since you can't bring him back or kill him off without pissing off one group or another.
