Question, from what I read on here, that what most people are saying NRS has confirmed there will not be any injustice charcters or console exclusive character as guests.
guest characters don't really bother me I thought Freddy was kinda cool and if I had to pick one it would be Jason Voorhees, but they can add Harry potter for all I care.
but I was wondering with NRS just making that wwe immortals game have they confirmed no immortals?
Because if they put John ****ing Cena in this game I'll be super pissed :)

Ok, I need someone to refresh my memory about something:

- I remember that MK9 introduced new classic skins each time a new DLC appeared, but the thing I don't remember is if you had to buy the DLC character in order to get the classic skins too or if the game update automatically added them to the game? Anyone remembers? It could give some hints to how the skins will be delivered.

- The other thing that probably helps with this, is if someone here has experience with Injustice business model, where the skins free? did they come in packages with DLC characters? Did they come in skin packs or were indiviual? And did that game have more DLCs than the ones included on the "season pass" for that game?

If someone is kind enough to answer that we could have a better idea of where this is going.

Personally I like that I have the option to keep my game "purist" and not purchase the guest characters, but I want to know if avoiding them will punish me if some skins are only available if you get those DLC characters first.

I'm starting to think about upgrading my PC instead of buying a PS4 and get the steam version of the game so I can get discounted DLCs during festivities thanks to our friend Gabe Newell and his awesome offers :P
I hope MK9 Sub-Zero and Ermac skin makes the DLC

You could say that about any character that made it in.

"Why would NRS put in stupid Nightwolf when we could have gotten Kenshi instead."

Guest characters help make the MK universe much bigger and allow for things that would otherwise be impossible. I get loving the wide variety of characters in MK and being disappointed when someone you wanted to see didn't make it, but guest are there for the fun and experience of seeing worlds collide. It would be like getting upset the next NBA game having the Toon Squad from Space Jam because the 1996 Bulls weren't in.

I hate them because guest characters are almost always blatant money grabs. It's effectively waving a banner that says that you don't believe that the characters you have or the game you're making can stand up on its own, and so you're trying to boost sales using the assets of others. And yes, part of it is exactly that the effort is better spent on MK characters. Time that could've been spent giving an existing character further development that could potentially change their perception within the community was instead dedicated to making sure Kratos put on his best constipated face every time he was about to get killed, and Freddy being so outlandish that even he didn't fit in.

I fully understand that this game isn't MKA and there isn't a spot for everyone in the MK universe. That doesn't mean that WB/NRS should be adverse to creativity in the character department.

Season Pass/Kombat Pack is always for people that really don't care about specific content, but want all and better if they got a discount.

But like in Injustice, the SP/KP doesn't cover ALL DLCs, so you can buy only what you really want, or wait several months to buy again the game - because I assume that, at least, you will pick the normal version alone - with all the content with a "cheap" price.

I guess that a lot of people just don't care about Injustice, because if not there's no reason for some questions/doubts...

Since the day I knew about guest characters, I always wanted to buy regular edition only, so I could buy only chars I am interested in, not some lame stuff like Jason and whatnot. So, not a problem for me.

Now, I hope those skin packs are something really interesting and not 15 costumes for Scorpion.

I have a feeling the 2 guests are going to be a DC property and a WarnaBrotha property. Maybe not justice league related but some obscure shit like swamp thing or bigby wolf. I'm hoping it's not Jason either but I can see WB pushing the promotion. As long as it's not Grundy in a hockey mask it might be alright.

compared to what the rest of western developers are doing, I'd say $40 to play dress up with your characters is a bargain.

Sadly, you're probably right.

I just hope the guest characters aren't too awful. GameInformer did an informal (ie twitter) survey and some of the responses were downright frightening lol.
