Honestly I think they will stay for convenience but touched up a little for use.

Tremor never shows up in the story mode. unless he's some obscure background event,but I never saw him,nor is he ever mentioned. Same thing goes for Goro,btw.

If they really want to make fans happy, they can "sneak release" Rain to the roster. Send out a patch to make him playable...no extra purchase, nothing. The rain fans will finally be satiated.

That would be nice but the likelihood of that happening is slim to none.

I don't really know how anything of the sort like that works, but put it this way.
They love selling DLC so much these days and making us pay for more, so how about we ask them to release these characters, they can even double the price of each one. I'll just buy the ones I want. (I'd rather normal prices though)

Pack 2: Rain, Baraka, Sindel and ?
Li Mei, Sareena, Noob, Shang Tsung whatever

I can't see Smoke appearing because of the faction kill appearance.

As much as I hate guest characters, Ash could have some interesting Variations. One could be called "Groovy" and he would have a chainsaw for a hand, one could be called "Medieval" and he would have his metal hand from Army of Darkness, and one could be called "Deadite". In this variation he would be Deadite Ash from Evil Dead 2.

As awesome as that'd be, I can't see them ever doing it.
They would have to give Baraka and Sindel the same treatment or they risk a lot of backlash from disgruntled Baraka and Sindel fans. Only way these 3 will be playable is with payment.

I can see them offering Rain for free to those who buy all the DLC characters and charge for those that do not. Or something along those lines.
