Yes ever since his inception in Mortal Kombat Mythologies Sub-zero he has always been a colorful character. With the new MK roster in MK8, I doubt he will be anything more than a mentioned name, a chameo of some sorts of you wish.
Goodbye Quan!
Goodbye Quan!

Quan Chi was cool. The MK team will probably have him killed by Scorpion.

I wont care. Quan Chi had that dumb neck-stretch fatality in Deadly Alliance. I liked his leg beat fatality in MK:4 as "the best fatality" in MK history. It was so ruthless, and made me thought Quan Chi was the shit. When I saw Quan Chi run-away like a chump from Scorpion in MK:D Konquest, damn was it a shameful sight!

i think he may be returning. always gotta think positive right?
the only thing i'm preying for is that they have the classic fatalites retuning (well i know so) and hope that if quan chi does make a return, his leg rip fatality makes a HUGE comeback. lets see the blood people... lets see the blood!

I think Quan Chi should come back he's a great character awsome moves like the stomping. But I to hated how he just ran away from scorpion and hired two idots to fight him when some one like him could have fought. But I wish they had him like he was in mk4.

What you're not understanding is that in the lower planes of the Netherrealm, such as the 5th plane, sorcerers and magical beings are slowly drained of their power the longer they stay in there. However, they could go to a Soul Stone to replenish their power. But with Quan Chi having to run from Scorpion, I don't know if Quan Chi was able to get close enough to access one. So while Quan Chi was getting weaker, Scorpion was getting stronger. This is why Quan Chi made a deal with Drahmin and Moloch, so that they can fend off Scorpion. Btw, Drahmin is far from an idiot. Moloch, on the other hand, I can agree with.
yes. quan chi was a good villain. but not good enough. if his fatality involved the green skulls he wouldve been better. also. if the mk team helped develop his character in DA and maybe in deception/unchained he might have been worth keeping. but dont worry. hell b back

I can safely say that Quan Chi's neck stretch fatality was the most ridiculous fatality ever. Even suckier than the babalities in MK3. Other than that, I hope Quan Chi does return in MK8.

Well, if they would've made that line of characters "true necromancers" they''d be alright to stay in the game.
1. Shinnok
2. Shao Kahn
3. Quan Chi
4. Shang Tsung
5. Noob Saibot
6. Sub-Zero (Necro is followed by Cryo if you think about it..)
7. Nightwolf
8. Sareena
9. Havik
10. Smoke
11. Ermac
12. Raiden (as of late)
13. Kenshi
14. Sindel
15. Ashrah
16. Nitara
17. Drahmin
18. Onaga
19. Meat
20. Scorpion
and maybe even Jinko.
All of these characters are effected by necromancy. Some more that others, but they all have a significant "ability" in the Art of the Dead, or in dealing with animate objects//bodies.
None of them are efficient...and on top of that, I'm not sure I got them all.

Meh, he should be killed off. Shang Tsung is way cooler IMO, and Quan Chi should be finished off so we could get rid of Scorpion's lust for revenge.

If Quan Chi doesn't return, I know I'll miss him .He's been a great character and a brilliant catalyst to the MK story. He's a villain you love to hate. He's definitely one of the better MK characters.

I like Quan chi but hes obviously going to be killed. Midway are going to kill of all the unecessary characters for MK8, and they only need one sorcerer. they're obviously going to choose shang Tsung over Quan Chi.
I kinda think it would be a cool plot twist to say that the deadly alliance actually stayed loyal to each other. The opening of deception seemed a little unbelieveable; would you really betray your ally the very moment that your enemies were defeated? In ancient rome, 3 generals formed an alliance to rule the republic. Julias Ceaser was a meglomaniac if there ever was one, and even he could honour a deal for a couple of years. Saying they betray each other right away seems ridiculous. Deadly Alliance featured the finest plotline of any MK game in my opinion, and the midway should not be so eager to return things to the status quo. Alone they are just servants to powerhouses like Onaga, Shao Kahn, and Shinnok. Even witht their plan foiled, they're plenty of good reasons to keep working together.
On another note, there's no way Quan Chi would have beaten Shang Tsung. Shang Tsung was former Grand Champ of the tournament. The designers mention that they feel Quan Chi is the stronger sorcerer which I can believe since he's a demon and has Shinnok's amulet and Onaga's runes inscribed in his skins, but that's in terms of opening portals and summoning skeletons. Hand to hand, Shang Tsung would have owned Quan Chi.
Alas, I feel both sorcerers should stay in the game, but it would be nice to see there special moves reflect more flashy magic, not just fireballs. In any case, sorcerers are cool, I usually play spellcasters in D&D, so I hope they both stay.
