MK has always had a roster that was primarily males. It's just the nature of it. I'd like to have more females, sure. But it is what it is.

For what is worth though, MKX has the best designs for females in the history of the franchise. Mileena probably has the best design in MK, and Kitana is probably second. This shows that the team does care about it's female characters.

Mortal Kombat was always known for having less females characters. And I agree what is this talk of having more women to be playable?

Hopefully, if this isn't the finalized roster, we'll get one or two more female characters. Tanya, Li Mei or Frost?

Just like there are people who complain that half the roster is Special Forces related, there are people (like myself) who prefer to have a wider variety in the cast.

I love playing as female characters. All three of my favourite MK characters are female. Of the new characters this time around, the best have been female. Why would I not want a chance to play as more females?

It's not because of some SJW need to see strong female characters (but five bucks says someone unironically uses that term in this thread)... it's because when there is only seven females on a roster of 25+, you get a bit bored of the sausage fest.

I mean, look at the Armageddon select screen... all the female characters fit onto two lines (or would have if you swap Sareena, who had never been in a main title wiht Sheeva who got put down with the monster characters).

What story purpose do Ermac and Reptile serve? It's extremely ironic that you're saying Jade, Nitara and Ashrah shouldn't be in the game over other characters because they serve no story purpose, and then go on to mention some male characters with no story purpose that shouldn't be dropped in favor of the females.

Of all the characters in the MK roster, it's always the females that definitely intrigue me because of their diverse and unique backstories. Here's what I could do if I was asked to write for the next game

Kitana: Make Kitana Queen if Sindel croaks so she can actually have responsibilities to help her people, hell maybe just like the MK vs DC ending since the original land of Edenia is surrounded by raging civil war all the time so it's not safe for them to settle, move them to Shang Tsung's Island in Earthrealm. There's two great things about this: (1) It's in Earthrealm with no Outworld kingdoms trying to kill them and (2) Kitana is closer to Liu Kang as they can both develop as characters. Also acquaint her with magic since he has dealt with the Netherrealm especially Quam Chi and make her somewhat of a light magic sorceress as a contrast to an evil Tanya, a formidable enemy that uses dark magic. An assassin-queen-sorceress. That's a badass trinity combo.

Tanya- If I had my way, make Tanya the one who murders Jade and Sindel to get Kitana pissed off and go on a revenge quest after her plus it extra vitrol by being the one who seduces Liu Kang to the dark side. Tanya's reasons for her hurtful actions might be she wanted TO just make Kitana feel "guilty" of the sins she committed under Shao Kahn against the Edenian Resistance so in return KItana will feel the same way Tanya feels by taking away her loved ones' lives and stealing Liu Kang. Also it's to make Kitana so furious that Tanya WANTS to fight her at her best and kill her unlike the "slave dog" and old "hag" of Jade and Sindel. Tanya would be a much BETTER formidable rival than Mileena in terms of intelligence and power, especially revolving her dark magic.

Sareena-Oh yes how can't we forget about her. She might have had a part in restoring Sub-Zero in MKX (it's doubtful so far), but keep her close to Kuai Liang once he returns and becomes Grandmaster of the Lin Kuei. Give her an important role in MKXI and make her interact with the rest of the good guys. Also reveal her fricking demon form that fans have been waiting to see since it's implication in her Armageddon bio. Also give her conflict with Noob reappears and have her deal with siding with either Sub-Zero brother and ultimately disowning Noob in her life.

Ashrah- Give her Datusha and a warrior of light like in Deception and make a sane good guy in the beginning yet as time progresses, let the sword slowly make her overzealous and make her kill anything (especially neutral character) who aren't "holy" and bring her into conflict with other characters like Nitara.

Kira- Of all the competent Black Dragons, I think Kira is one of them. Make her leader of the Black Dragon once Kano hits the coop and give her an interesting take on how she runs the organization. Give her a freaking leather whip for her dominatrix-like nature with you have to.

Li Mei-If all things go well, make Li Mei return to Outworld after both Kotal and Mileena (and the third guy presumingly to overthrow Kotal) are out and build up a freaking coalition to protect Outworld villages from other races and armies trying to ruin their lives like the Tarkartans. Give her some fucking armor and a sword so she can lead the common Outworlders as an insurgency along with good ole' Bo Rai Cho to take out remenats of Shao Kahn's allies and even slay a major villain in the game.

Nitara- Make Nitara, Queen and General of the Moroi Empire and actually shelter Kotal's remaining forces herself and start taking hits on Shao Kahn sympathizers and defending the newly-formed realm of Vaterenus from outsiders. As a female, make her more larger than the males to empahzie her dominance and also a real-life reference to vampire bats being larger than males in sexual dimorphism in South America. Also I'd give her an interesting alliance with Khameleon as both races have been surpassed by Shao Kahn and according to some rumors both have originated from the same realm before Kahn merged them both with Outworld. I can see both of them like Daenerys and Missandri's alliance in Game of Thrones.

Frost- Actually be reluctant to associate with Cassie, but warms up to her and her Krew shortly after they both talk openly about their pasts and have amutual respect for one another. Perhaps Cassie sparing her might change Frost into something less evil. Have her come into contact with Kuai Liang who is surprised that another like him is still alive and offers to train her with her ice powers. They both can develop a father-son relationship unlike in the Deadly Alliance timeline. Perhaps the greatest plot twist I could give is that Frost is actually the offspring of Noob Saibot and a Chaosrealmer he made out with once the Soulnado landed him in Chaosrealm. That can give additional drama to the Sub-Zero brother drama story and build potential character development.

Khameleon: I'd make her Matriarch of the last remainders of the Raptor Race and her an important political position especially her alliance with Nitara. If Reptile lives, I'd start giving them a relationship filled with tension as a way to develop their characters. Make Reptile less barbaric and actually interact with his kind. Khameleon might be the chick to help her race and save his ass from being constantly kicked by Outworld masters.

We don't know what purpose Ermac and Reptile serve in MKX. We haven't played the game yet.

UM because people like female characters and like me want it to be more even. And one wants it to be DOA. Girls don't need to be for T and A. So fat MKX has toned it down and made them badass.

I even want more then 6 plus we don't even know final roster yet there could be new females coming
