Unless I see actual proof that the statue is Lui Kang (which none of you have) then I'm saying that the statue is Fujin. If I'm wrong I'll eat my own words with a side of crow.

Well seeing that is Liu Kangs win pose from MK1 . I'm going with Liu Kang on this one.

I'm going based on the fact that Liu Kang showed up in some kind of form in every single main MK game wheeras Fujin was only in MK4 (everyone was in Armaggeddon so that doesn't count)

I know it's totally delusional and irrational but that's my final argument.

Liu is one of my favorites and I really can't wait to see him in the even he's in.

I saw an interview with Hans Lo from GDC, he was asked if 25 was the final count. He said "I guess you'll have to wait until April 14th and find out!," so it's obviously not the final count.

Well I'd just like to say (not to bring up that supposed "leaked roster") But Shinnok is now confirmed, and he wasn't on the list! Which makes me feel better about other people who weren't on the list having a shot.

Hey guys, got some good news. I work at Vox Media (publisher of the video game site Polygon), and I spoke with one of our writers who attended the GDC event last week. Our writer said that they flashed the entire roster in front of the audience for a split second, so he only saw a few confirmations, like Liu Kang and Erron Black. He went on to say that they were a little sloppy with the hidden stuff last week haha.

I thought I'd leave the info here instead of starting a new thread as to not draw too much attention to my source or me, but our writer definitely saw Erron and Kang.

Did he say anything about blank spots? Well there must be more than 25 now, since we know every single one of the old select screen...I mean, it's highly unlikely that they ship out a game with all characters known right?

He didn't say anything about blank spots. How many characters is that now with Shinnok, Kenshi and now Erron and Kang? Is that the entire leaked Gamefaqs list?

I too imagine there will be about 30 with dlc. So maybe 28, then 2 klassic. And then 2 guest.
Hopefully a roster of 30 Mk characters. However, I doubt they'll deconfirm the accuracy of the leaked list before launch. That list seems to be the perfect opportunity to keep surprises true surprises. Slowly confirming that each character on that list, leaving 1 unknown so that one would assume there's a single surpris for us come launch (probably kang). When in reality there will be a few surprises.
Then again that may be more of a hope than a good theory lol

With regards to the roster seen in the stream:
- Goro was not in there anymore, which makes sense since he's unlockable
- Johnny Cage added

This leads to my conclude that because Johnny, Liu Kang, Erron Black and maybe a few others were available to the people who got to play the game recently, this is the final roster screen / amount. They did not play with Kenshi, Shinnok and Jax who were only confirmed because they have the alternate skins confirmation and Jax was already a given. Some magazines said there were 'a ton of spots left'. If you just add Liu Kang, Erron Black and Sonya to the roster they showed, that leaves 8 so that's 1/3 which is 'a ton'. The 8 are then of course: Kenshi, Jax, Shinnok, Takeda, Kung Jin, Jacqui, Mileena & Goro.

Sure...In a screen of 24+ spots that was visible for a split second he was able to see Liu and Erron. And conveniently enough those are the 2 unannounced characters left from the leaked roster -.-'

I thought in the stream we were seeing a different select screen to what was there as the devs said they saw an unannounced characters walking animation

As long as Erron Black is playable I don't give a fuck about anything anymore. Not even Fujin.

Someone should tweet boon and lover of tacos if the final boss is playable, i cant remember if they said before and even so, a newer response is better since they went back on a lot of stuff(i dont ave twitter otherwise i would.

This would help to know if there will be more or not, since i dont see shinnok being final boss
