I'm extremely excited that you've gotten around to finally wrapping up your trilogy story with Mortal Kombat: Legacy. I like the direction of the main storyline, and it really gives the feel of things getting worse and worse.

Now for the bios:

Mileena: It's not that surprising to me. I'm glad that you made Mileena grow as a character, a rather sympathetic one too. I'm sure that even if she were to leave Nyx's side, he'd still likely be too powerful anyway. But nonetheless, the bio is good.

Sub-Zero: Like Mileena, I can see that you've pretty much summed up the events in his life as well as his MK: Korruption ending. I like the dynamic you put in with Sub-Zero being aware of his actions but having no control over them.

Well, once again, I'm quite pleased, and I look forward to more.

Amazing as usual!

I love how this tainted influence in Li Mei has turned her into an Hooker for any Evil Influnce to sway.

Also I love how Jade isn't sure whether or not she can be the leader, but yet she has to at the same time. These bios also show much desperation, which is a good thing.

My favorite line:

"Unfortunately, I was delayed by Tanya...and I took too much time to beat her face in."

Very impressive stuff so far Xiahoudun84. Keep it up!

Xia, I've read bits and pieces of Rebirth, the other story, and Legacy. Honestly, I have not been really impressed by anything. Some of it is simply too predictable, cliche, or overdone. Other things just don't fit at all or feel like MK. And other things have just seemed like something YOU would want to see instead of realistic directions these characters and MK in general would take.

However, I have to say that I like Jade's bio. Making her go from mere "soldier" to uncertain leader is actually quite interesting. I wouldn't mind if something like that actually happened in one of her bios.

And also, in reality, Jade is royalty, so most likely she has done some leading in her past, I think, but it's still a nice bio.

What's so cliche? Nothing at all. This is original stuff, imo. What's so overdone about it?



No offense, but apparently you know nothing of fan fiction. Most fan fictions try to take MK into new directions with new, never before seen stuff in MK. Otherwise, if everything had original MK feel to it, it would be repetitive (like we see in our current MK games now with certain character stories).



Honestly, what do you think fan fiction is mostly about? It's what the writer wants to see or have in MK. What do you mean realistic directions? The MK team as of now doesn't even take realistic directions with the characters. I thought the direction in which Scorpion is taking now is unrealistic. This is realistic, with potential, and has rebirth written all over it for the MK franchise.

Anyhow, nice bios XiahouDun84. I like the direction with Jade and I especially like the Amaya Rin character.

Well, the first story "rebirth" had many things that were overdone. First, the whole boss sorceror thing is nothing new at all. Then the tournament. And then the "fight for Nyx's power" is way too much like fighting for Blaze's power. Ermac leaping to a realm defender is quite like Scorpion taking that recent sharp turn we all know. Mileena hardly seems evil anymore, more like a tragedy-case who's replaced her greedy ambitions with naiveness and pitiful desperation. Li Mei's problem is the exact same thing as Sareena's. And, well there's other things, but the bottomline is I wouldn't like next-gen to go in this direction, as some people have said.

I'd much prefer something more innovative and unpredictable like the Deadly Alliance story for next-gen. Something we've never imagined before for MK but still good and with that "MK feel." I hope Vogel will be able to top DA for MK8.

Xia, anyone as close to Sindel and Kitana as Jade simply has to be royal. Maybe not by blood, but she works in the same department obviously. She's got to have a comparable status for that matter. That doesn't need to be spelled out.

Also, I'm not trying to disrespect your ideas or anything. I'm simply sharing my opinion on this.

Funny thing is, most royal figureheads in history recruited their armed forces and protectorate from non-noblesse. In other words: elite forces were mostly of rich peasant ancestry or low-rank vassails.

Great as always, I am liking the direction Amaya Rin is taking.

Jade is more than just a protectorate. She has been Kitana's best friend since childhood. If you wanna base this on historical info, then she has to be royal or high status cuz I doubt they'd let a princess hang out with peasant or other low-status kids. Doesn't it make sense that the rulers would let their princess play with other children who have a similar status and wealth?

Also, whether she was royal or not during her childhood, I'm sure she's treated as royalty now since she's very close with Sindel and Kitana. I can't imagine Sindel saying "Thanks for the help, Jade. Now go back to your peasantry," let alone being treated like someone subordinate by other Edenians.

She was also tied to Shao Kahn before, another one with royal/high status.

Xia, okay I see what you're saying about Jade's past, but she works with royalty now, so most likely she has had some leadership experience aside from just spying and carrying out missions. And I never meant to say that she has been some top commander or distinguished leader.

Also, where does it say that Kitana was taken by Kahn as an infant? In Sindel's ending, she looks more like a 5-year-old.

Anyway, being a longtime ally of the Edenian crown, being one of Kahn's top ex-assasins, and being a hardcore patriot, I can't imagine Jade being insecure about leading. My guess is that she would be overconfident, if anything. Either way, I like your bio for her.

The MK3 Storyline:
"For centuries, Earth has used Mortal Kombat to defend itself against Outworld's Emperor, Shao Kahn. But Kahn grows frustrated by failed attempts to take Earth through tournament batle. He enacts a plan which began 10,000 years ago. During that time, he had a Queen. Her name was Sindel..."
And Sindel's MK3 bio:
"Sindel once ruled Outword at Shao Kahn's side as his Queen. Now 10,000 years after her untimely death...."
If Sindel was Shao Kahn's bride 10,000 years ago, he must therefore have already conquered Edenia. And since Kitana is 10,000 years old, she must therefore had only just been born at the time.

Oh.

It could also be that the "10,000" is an estimate. There could have been a few hundred years for Kitana to grow before Kahn actually came along, since she seriously looks like 5 or 6 in Sindel's ending.
