For me, introducing several characters as varied as you're describing makes MK feel too much like generic high fantasy. Id like characters to stay very east Asian in theme. To me, that dark Asian horror thing is what makes MK so awesome.

I could care less about the race/national origin of the characters. What I would really like to see are unrepresented fighting styles, or even a fighter that really has no style, kind of like a street fighter (please forgive the description).

I've always wanted a character based off of an extremely violent escaped convict. Someone who was brought into the tournament just because they are very good at killing. A psycho/sociopath. A flat out evil bastard who would kill his own mother if it served his agenda.

They should add a Brazilian capoeira fighter. It would be a different fighting style and it would be a nod to the fact, that Brazil is MK's biggest supporter.

And another warrior who can be someone from the "realm of time". He/she can wield like the sands of time, like in Prince of Persia, even a clock-like sword that Aeon from Castlevania: Judgment uses.

And if the Red Dragon needs new members. How about someone who's a chemical weapons expert. He can use poisons/toxins. Like Toxzon from Max Steel.

Ah. The dreaded ChrEddy of Tekken. It's amazing how nearly universally reviled they are, especially due to their status as scrub-used characters; I think Lars and Alisa are far worse, though, in design, story, and playstyle.

The whole handstand stance in 4 was very indicative of Capoeira.
They wanted to do the same with him in Armageddon but couldn't due to Armageddon being a horrible rushed mess; Boon said if they had had the time, that handstand stance would have been his fighting stance in the game.

And again, I don't care about ethnicity in fighting games, especially in one where the characters come from different realms of the universe and vary wildly in appearance. If this were Tekken or Street Fighter or something, then, yes, the argument for diversity is sort of understandable.
Every Tekken forum has a board wherein the Filipinos, Malays, or Finns are talking about getting a character of their own, with their own odd folk fighting style. Same goes for DOA with Koreans and Brazilians.
Isn't it better to have a character whose entire purpose is based on the strength of their story and personality, rather than solely based on their ethnic background?

What about an Alien? I've been saying for the longest how interesting it would be for Boon & Co to come up with an alien fighter whom somehow ends up in the events of the MK story. Plus he/she wouldn't be from earth or other realms but from a planet far off in space. People might disagree but I think it would be a good way to expand the MK universe besides just leaving it to earth & different realms.

Definitely not Kobra! lol. Not a trained martial artist, just someone who knows how to fight. A brawler-type of character.

His ending would have him discover that the universe is much bigger and with beings greater than he ever conceived and he would have to give up his atheism so he can better protect the world from supernatural threats.

Character traits e.g.
-He could be a scientist or a hipster-type
-He could constantly argue with Raiden about his existence
-He could have an interesting chemistry with Reptile in regards to his evolution process
-His "Test Your Might" would be an intellectual debate on a podium

Special moves e.g.

Keyboard attack
-Verbally bashes his opponent from his computer

Spaghetti attack
-Summons his Flying Spaghetti Monster noodles and whips the opponent

Finishing move #1
-Performs a Babality on the opponent... and then eats them

PLANTS/FLORA Tremor is already an "earth"-like character METAL So many characters already have metal traits or attacks e.g. cyborgs, Jax SIZE The boss characters are big enough POISONS Maybe as a special attack for certain characters e.g. Reptile breath MALE VAMPIRE? Nah, I think in this timeline, Nitara is still the last of her kind or something

Just want Tremor as the only "NEW" character to the actual fighting game.

The thing is aliens just wouldn't fit into Mortal Kombat. The universe is clearly firmly set in a fantasy setting, and heavy sci-fi just doesn't feel right. Even the cyborgs I feel barely manage to fit in. And how exactly would beings from another planet be any different from beings from other realms? There wouldn't be any real difference from a planet and a realm, which is essentially just another planet anyway.

Outworlders, Seidans, Edenians, et al, are all aliens technically, but they happen to be humanoids and almost always physically indistinguishable from an Earthrealm humanoid (and able to interbreed with them, which leads to people like the Sub-Zero bros. and Frost.) Hence, they are aliens, but they don't look like the stereotypical version seen in popular culture.
I don't ever want to see one of those cat-eyed, grey/green skinned, skinny aliens in MK, though.


I think that could work fine in an MK game. Green Arrow certainly had vastly different gameplay from the other fighters in Injustice. I'm all for gameplay variety.
