Multiple X-rays for every character?! Video of Raidens second super move!

Agreed.
Multiple per character would be an overkill. I liked the x-rays, I thought they were a good new inclusion.

If it's only one x ray per character that would suck because out of all the x rays we've seen, raiden's is by far way too great compared to everyone else's.

Considering it's quite awhile until the release date, if they had time to work on it, would it still be overkill? I think it would be an awesome addition, much like the many -alities most likely to be in the game ( 3 per char, plus stage and another universal -ality)
I guess I wouldn't be too surprised if they did this because these guys are right the feedback from X-rays has been awesome. Why wouldn't they expand on the concept? "Stronger" variations could have weaker X-rays and vice versa. For example I would assume Quan Chi's variation where he summons the bat would have a stronger X-Ray (Just assuming from the video).
I do also really like the idea of both an air and ground X-Ray. Maybe a high/low X-Ray, or the jumping one could be overhead. Again, I realize this would be a lot of work but they do have a lot of capital and people now with WB behind them.

According to a certain web-site Derek Kirtzic emphasised that balance between character variations is a top priority.
Secondly when I played the demo the damage across all X-ray moves was the same. Obviously that is subject to change since the game is a work in progress but I still think it is indicative.

Yes and balance would be even easier to manage (especially post release) with different X-Rays for different variations. If they all did the same damage because they have balanced the characters perfectly, even better. I would prefer that but with the bar filling up quicker I can see X-Rays being more useful. How they hit and how much damage they do could be easily adjusted for balance purposes before and after release.
I think the bigger problem would be doing all of the animations and coming up with ideas for all of those X-Rays. That said, if done well, it would be fantastic!

I think there will be only 1 per char.
Why? Because with the 6 FINISHERS (not fatalitys) per char you will have enough custom gore for each figther. And you asked for a proof, well look up the first footage form MK(2011) Cage and Mileena x-rays were altered before the release.
And I'm on the same boat with some others, that the older xray will be given to someone else (with some tweeks ofcorse). And btw I love that one, that kick was so awesome I was cheering like a mad man.
And on those finishers I just wanna ad that my assumption is:
3 fatality
1 stage fatality (one imput for for all the stages that have one)
1 hara-kiri (please bring it back I loved the idea)
1 brutality (because this -ality would fit best this dark, brutal and violent aura of MKX)

Fatalities are nice and all... but X-Rays are IN-GAME. I think adding variety or more dimensions to it is a great idea. I don't think the amount of finishers in the game should affect the X-Ray. There is no such thing as ENOUGH custom gore for each fighter. More is always better .
I would be upset if they gave the x-ray to someone else or it wasn't in. You're right that kick was awesome. And how much were Mileena and Cage's altered? Wasn't the final product still similar just with tweeks? I thought i remembered Cage punching his opponent in the nuts multiple times for his x-ray in the original trailer for mk9.

Perfectly happy with one X-ray. I like all the ones I've seen so far with Kano's being my favorite.

When it comes to the time constraints they face in development, I'd much prefer more fatalities, stages, and costumes over more x-rays.
However, you might just get your wish for MKX2. ;)

Oh come on its not that bad, I loved the last MK. However there were many times where I found myself somewhat bored waiting for the X-Ray animation to end. (I know its not THAT long, but sometime I would simply avoid doing my X-Ray because I would rather be constantly battling. Other times, when I am playing against someone in the same room, its much more rewarding.)
All that said, either having two x-rays for each char (my preferred choice and probably less work for NRS), or one X-ray per variation would be a great improvement. I don't see how anyone could think that makes the game worse.

Fatalities and stages (only because of the interactability this time around), for sure I would rather have more of those. But they are already planning for ... what 5 or 6 fatalities? Once they get to 7 or 8, I would want more X-rays as opposed to more fatalities.

I like the change they've made to this new airborne x-ray.
Although, I wonder what's up with how they control the appearance of electricity? I thought we had that part mastered in photoshop, special effects for movies, and in game design software? Right along side elements like hair, for example. The more I look at it, the more strange it seems to behave.
I think it might get old that he has those "streams?" coming from his hands all the time. Hmm.... I like it on his wake-up attack, and all the parts that it happens during his x-ray but, why are those streams all over all of his other moves? Seems like over-use of a highlight maybe?
Anyway, I like the new X-Ray and hope they stick with this or even improve it. A small little highlight for me beyond the aerial display is how it looks when Raiden re-appears, during the opponents "bounce" once they've fallen back to earth. That's awesome.

Hah I agree Predator, the new X-ray is awesome. The only thing I don't like about it is it kind of (just a little) reminds me of supermans supermove in Injustice. And the streams? Didn't even notice the first time around
And how much were Mileena and Cage's altered? Wasn't the final product still similar just with tweeks? I thought i remembered Cage punching his opponent in the nuts multiple times for his x-ray in the original trailer for mk9.
I was wrong about Johnny but, here at 11:08 you can see Mileena doing her x-ray, and that one lacks the stabs.

Alright.... but I think that adds to my point. The new one is completely different, there is no similarity! Mileena just had a few stabs to the stomach added...
you see the difference here too right?
I personally do not find the new X-ray entertaining as much.
I am more of a visceralist when it comes to my mind. Anime-esque over-the-top energy bolts and flight do not catch my attentions. Do not make me vince.
Rupturing someone's spleen, liver or organ of your choice is far more entertaining and LESS BORING than intentional over-theatralism.
Less is more. Every time I see that new X-ray I think just get it on already.

Well said. I think that was sort of what i was trying to say when I said I didnt really like it because it reminded me of supermans super move on injustice.
