https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BoKn9a4aRaA
was just searching through youtube this looks amazing!
Edit: found better video with gameplay, and noticed a comment that their would be a different x-ray for each variation?! Even more awesome if its true! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2yh4m1vmQwk
Double Edit: I'm not set in stone on the idea, but for the record the original one was done with the storm trap variation and this new one was done with the thunder god variation.

Nope. Each character will have 3 X-rays, one per variation.

Do you mean per variation? I think/hope so! and what makes you so sure the first one replaced the second one MK-noob? That just seems silly that they would do all that extra animation to replace it.

Again, not trying to be a ignorant, but HOW are you guys coming to this conclusion? Proof would be good. The more I think about it I may recall Boon saying that this was not going to happen because he wanted the options those staple moves to be available no matter what variation you are using..... but Boon has been known to troll if I am not mistaken. That would be an awesome later reveal if you ask me.

A certain website posted a transcripted interview with Ed at GamesCom, wherein he debunked the rumor of multiple x-rays per character.
"Interviewer: There was some confusion at E3 in regards to multiple X-Rays per character. Was this a mistake on behalf of the interviewer or will characters in fact have more than one X-Ray move across their variations?
EB: I think that was a mistake. We don't currently plan to have multiple X-Rays per character."
Ergo, the one you saw in his announcement trailer was simply a placeholder. Likely, it was given to another character we've yet to see.
Note: I don't mean they just copy-pasted the whole X-Ray over; what I meant was that they probably used the spin kick/break jaw part in another character's x-ray instead.

Thank you for pulling up some proof, but I do think there is still a strong possibility for it. Boon is very shaky on denying that, and does not deny that there is a chance for that to be included. I hope we don't see another character grab someones spine and shock them. I think the one Raiden did originally was pretty awesome as well ( I do think the newer one is better though). On top of all this, it was a trailer for Raiden, to me it seems unlikely they would advertise an X-ray that was only a placeholder.
Anyone else with me on this or am I expecting too much? They still have a lot of time before the game is released.

lol whats with all the negativity. Boon never said they were not going to do it, he said they did not have plans to do it yet. Do you guys not want multiple X-rays? I think it would be a great addition, although I do not think it should interfere with any time spent on more important aspects of the game. I would rather have more X-rays than alternate costumes.

Considering that X-Rays were the worst addition to the series in years, no I wouldn't.

Haha, no negativity my friend, just not a huge probability of multiple xrays. I certainly wouldn't mind being wrong.

Okay, I'll give you that, probably not a huge probability.... but big enough for me to get a little excited. I just don't buy the explanation of Raiden's original X-ray being a placeholder.
Optimus Grime: I don't like X-rays so much for the gameplay but sort of more for the visual aspect and satisfaction (similar to the reason I enjoy fatalities). Nonetheless, would you really rather have more alternate costumes as opposed to X-ray moves?!

I think you are expecting too much. The character selection screen shown in events shows 24 characters. If a character had a X-ray move for each variation that would mean 72 different X-rays. That seems unrealistic in my opinion.
Keep in mind that the character selection screen is not final. It has been hinted that there are more characters then the selection screen implies.

Okay, I don't expect it, but it doesn't have to be per variation. Every character could have access to 2 x rays. Could be as simple as hitting both buttons or holding a direction and hitting both buttons. Some could have both air and ground x-rays like cyber sub-zero's air x-ray in the last mk.

Speak for yourself, the vast majority of fans loved x-ray moves in MK9. That's why they're returning. One per character is fine though.

Good clarification. I don't think we will be getting another electricity user though. If we do, it'll be lame. We have one and it's all we need, unless if it's going to be the Red Dragon member.

Which is exactly why I'm hopeful that this is multiple X-Rays. Boon says he THINKS that was a mistake and they don't CURRENTLY plan to have them. That article does not have a date but it sounds like it was very shortly after E3 so there has been time.

I like the sound of 2 X-Ray's per character, one ground one and one air one.
