I'd rather see a MKSM like game for how Shang Tsung won the MK tournament and took it over.

Signed, but only if we actually get bonus characters besides Sub-Zero and Scorpion, and only if the writers do their damn job and stick with the games' storlyine. It's only a few lines of text, people. How f-iin' hard is it to stick to THAT? (And Cage shoulda been playable--he helped Liu and Lao in the official storyline. How do you mess that up?)

I agree. I don't understand why all the characters in versus mode weren't playable in the story mode.

Anyway, the sequel, if centered around (U)MK3, should allow for all eight heroes of that game to be playable. The villains should then be playable after passing the game and being unlocked.

I think 15 playable characters sounds fair for a Shaolin Monks sequel, but it shouldn't be called "Shaolin Monks" anymore because it shouldn't just be about Liu and Kung. MK3 had more heroes than just them 2, plus they are boring compared to other more popular characters.

Also, I read that the MK team didn't even make Shaolin Monks. It was a Midway studio from Los Angeles. If that's the case, then why the hell haven't they begun making a sequel? It won't interfere with the development of MK8 and plus it should guarantee some sales because part 1 was a big hit.

Why haven't they begun making this?

There is absolutely no need for a Shaolin Monks 2. Another adventure game, yes but not SM2. Scorpion or Noob Saibot, maybe even Smoke or Reptile would be my candidates to star in their own adventure game.

Sure.

Take care of Mk3-Da when Liu Kang gets killed.

On the other hand, there's easily enough story surrounding Raiden. (heheh)

1. Play out the events surrounding the Fall of Shinnok and the "War of the Gods".

2. Raiden has been around any and all the Champions of Mortal Kombat. Could take us waaaay back in history...up until Mk1. Get to see Takeda, Scorpion, when he was alive, Ancestors of Sub-Zero, Young Bo Rai Cho, Kitana, (Let alone characters like King Jerrod and the then, "alive" Queen Sindel), Shao Kahn under the rule of Onaga...ect ect..

3. And Or, play out what happened to Raiden during the events MKDa and forward into him becoming more ruthless. Get to see him resurrect Liu Kang and ll that..

There's definitely more than enough to make a game surrounding him though...

Well, technically, Noob had his own game in MKM. As for a second SM, I'm in as long as no more retarded story skips occur. And more characters are playable.
