They are ok but I play with both genders on the game.

Some of them are alright. I particularly like Nitara, Ashrah and MK1 Sonya. I am partial towards MKD Mileena too.

Some of them are ok like kitana, Sonya, jade, Tanya, Nitara, and Sareena. I never hardly use them and never will unless I'm forced by story. Most of the females I largely dislike.

I generally enjoy playing as the female characters. There's only one female character I don't like in the entire series.

I think a lot of them are boring, lack personality, and i can't get myself to like their playstyles most of the time.

Sonya, Tanya, Jade, Li Mei and to a lesser extent Mileena and Sindel are the only ones that caught my attention (not that i precisely play as them though).

I personally love Jade, Mileena, and Tanya. I despise Sonya. So what is it that makes you like the three, but Sonya as well?

I listed 6 out of the 18 playable females known to exist so far, that's 1/3 of them (Not that i've played as Ferra, Devorah or Cassie, but not that i probably will since i don't like what i've seen about them so far, especially Devorah since she looks so SHITE but we'll see) and 2 of them (Sindel and Mileena) i haven't played since Trilogy.

I like Sonya because she been a badass since day 1, has always been solid in every game she's appeared in (except MKvsDCU), has a compelling storyline to me (that haven't evolved much, but that can be said about 90% of the roster), i love her look, and has a well defined personality.

Jade, Tanya and Mileena do also have a defined personality, good looks for the most part, and solid gameplay on their latest playable appearances.

I'm pretty partial to the MK-MK3 females. Tanya is cool too I guess because she's the evil Edenian. Females introduced post MK4: meh.

I'm intrigued by Cassie, I'm interested in seeing Sonya and Johnny's roles in this game.

Dvorah I see as another Ashrah or Nitara.

I'd like the Ferra character to be a little scheming thing with like a Napoleon complex. Ferra Torr should be like Pinky and the Brain a little bit also. I hope they have a more tongue in cheek role or story. They can have their own little plan to take over or whatever is going on now, but something always messes up their plan in a somewhat comical way.

D'Vorah is more interesting than Cassie Bland thus far and will be more interesting overall over Cassie.

Sonya has got to be the crappiest female ever!

I use every characters. I have a daughter named Katana Jade ( we spelled it that way on purpose.

I remember taking the day off when MK9 was released and beating the Kombat Tower on the first day and getting Mileena ' s 3rd costume and pissing people off online

This too. I think, in my case, it has to do with the fact that their playstyles are too generic (sharing moves with a bunch of characters, same normals in MK1-MK4, sharing fighting styles in MKDA-MKA) and their lack of personalities, as opposed to females in other series. But that's just me.

I play as all characters. In MK9, Sonya was my least played female. In MK3, her and Sindel were my top two females.

Sonya was at her best in MK3.

Usually for me, female characters have have something unique or "monster-ish" for me to be interested in them.

Nitara, Mileena, and Ashrah are a few of my favorites, but I'm already drawn to D'Vorah for MKX.

Cassie is much more interesting. First of her look is actually attractive. Secondly a lot of people wonder since she's here what happend to two of the most Iconic characters in mk. Thirdly I can see Cassie even having her own game. If boon is so eager to continue in this new direction Cassie will become a staple and regular of the franchise. Lol D'vorah will be gone by the next game.

Basically. Cassie will be the new Sonya/Johnny, ie one of the main heroes and staple. On the other hand, Devorah will be a generic, irrelevant and unimportant lackey that will be gone by MK11.

I love the female characters. Sometimes though i feel they are not given enough "justice" theycould be soo much more cooler.

Frost- The time line has altered, maybe she won't have a ulterior motive and be a full on good gir un Sub Zeros guidance

Kira- Great design, decent back story but needs to have her own moves to be relevant. The Black Dragon needs to built back up and you can't do that by recycling moved

Li Mei- Just want to see her because nothing came about of her story. She was a good character with potential just dropped

Nitara- One of my favorite characters. I would like her to make a return with a more slender look. her MKDA look was fine but i think she was to thick for her character.

Sareena- The last thing i remember about her is that sh is a Demon who pledged loyalty to Kuai Liang(Younger Sub Zero). This would be interesting to see in the MKX story line

Tanya- With Jade, Kitana & Sindel dead, no one to oppose this traitorous Edenian Ambassador...or is there?

I've played as every female in this series, and honestly, there's just one I don't like.

This chick, okay, has by far one of the dumbest, DUMBEST fatality I have ever seen in the twenty-two years it's been around and such. Her outfits never match who she's supposed to be. I've always thought she has more of a special treatment than anything because her name is taken from one of Boon's sisters.

I do not like Sonya Blade at all. I can never take her seriously in the series. And you know, I had respect for her portrayal in the first movie... UNTIL THEY MADE IT WHERE SHE CAN'T DEFEND HERSELF AGAINST SHANG TSUNG.

My god, she can take out a guy with a gun, can take out a few soldiers, snaps Kano's neck, but the moment you take one of her arms and put it behind her, she's completely defenseless. The fuck, you're telling me she couldn't at least wiggle herself free from Shang's grasp? Was it just a failed attempt at making either her or Kitana a damsel in distress? Bogus. Absolutely bogus.

Every other female character has at least one good quality to them, at least in my perspective. Even Khameleon, because at least they finally decide to give her a story and may I say, it was a really good story to have. Even though, you know, it was in Armageddon, the game that failed on having bios for everyone.

I just wish sometimes, females could be a little bit stronger rather than weaker. That's all I got really.

What special treatment does Sonya get? :-/

She gets in as many games as Kitana because they're the top female characters in the series when it comes to popularity and iconicness, and even then, they are often left out of games, she isn't used as a poster girl, and neither does Kitana. She doesn't get exciting new storylines, or anything like that. She isn't particularly overpowered in the games. The fact that she gets important roles in movies and series, is to be expected since she was one of the main heroes since MK1. She is likely to be replaced in the upcoming game by her daughter, despite the fact that a woman her age can still be strong and badass, as shown in other videogames.

Also the "Sonya gets special treatment because she's named after Boon's sister" point is rendered invalid when we take Tanya into account, she is also named after Boon's sister and she has no important role, is rarely seen in the games, etc.

Not only that, she was also cut out of Special Forces in favor of the less-popular Jax.

Most likely, that fatality was shite, especially in MK9, the fact that it looked better in MK4 is laughable.
