Mortal Kombat 10 Possible Story Information Leaked By NRS Employee? *MAJOR SPOILERS (if true)*

I found this on TRMK and figured I would share it with you all.

THESE ARE (supposed) SPOILERS FOR THE STORY MODE OF THE NEXT MORTAL KOMBAT GAME. READ AT YOUR OWN RISK...

Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)

-MK10 will be announced at next year's (2012) E3. Probably released around Christmas that year.

-Shao Kahn and Shang Tsung are dead forever.

-Noob and Scorpion will team up and forgive each other to destroy their master, Quan Chi

-Liu Kang will become more of a neutral character than the hero.

-Motaro will be back as a slave to Quan Chi.

-Rain and Tanya will be major villians.

-The least 5 characters played as online will be removed from the roster of the next game.

-Armageddon, Shujinko, Dragon King, etc. will be addressed and dealt with, but do not worry, they won't be prominent. The story from here on out will focus on the invasions and tournaments.

-Edenia will be touched upon more directly. Shao Kahn corrupted it in MK9 and it is in turmoil due to the deaths of the royal family. However, since Kahn's death, things have changed.

-Reptile stops being a pawn and forms his own group of kombatants and will challenge other fighters in the tournament. He is a major part of the story.


He also touched upon DLC for MK9 saying:

-Bosses WILL be DLC later on. Boon wants to hold off on it so players can capture the fear of Goro/Kintaro/Kahn before they can use them.


Seems like some kickass plans if you ask me. ;)

The five least played characters being removed? Not liking that. Considering that 60% of players over use the three same characters online. When I play offline, I like to mess around with a lot of characters. But online, it's different, it's who I'm best with. And from my experiences, it seems that many people do the same thing.

Dont like Shang being dead forever. Kinda guessed Kahn isn't coming back.

Dont mind 5 characters being shaved off the roster. As long as they have a satisfying ending.

Rain and Tanya MAJOR villains? Tanya maybe but Rain? Really?

Kang becoming Nuetral? Colour me interested. Quite liked that he wasnt so goody goody.

Remember this all might be a swerve from Ed Boon himself.

Kinda expected that they would do away with Shang.

Hillariously unceremoneous, at least in MKD he friggin' had a last stand with Troll Chi and Failden. Then got on top of the pyramid.

The problem with these choices is that they cater too much to the obvious fanbase reactions. I mean... Rain and Tanya as credible villains? They were never protrayed as charismatic or able as most of the evil big ones. Not to mention stylistically they suck ass.

Disregarding mostly the MKDA-A era... well, ok, I understand that most people do not associate those games with anything good, but sue me, MKDA was the pinnacle of MK for me.

This looks like a wishlist rather.

Agreed, and I don't even play online, no reason except I just can't afford it.

Actually when I re-read that - Getting rid of the least played characters online?

That is actually quite retarded. I mean while its not likely the 5 least played characters online by the time they decide to cut up the roster could be Scorpion, Quan Chi, Sub Zero, Noob Saibot and Mileena.

Thats the next game fucked then!

Indeed. If Scorpion and/or Sub-Zero happened to be in the bottom 5 you'd know this idea would get scrapped fast. tongue

So if putting Shang into Sindel caused him to cease to be...what happened to all the souls he ever stole, like Kenshi's ancestors, exactly?

We need to make this happen now. grin

Although I can see Cyber Sub Zero being dumped. But the two Sub Zeros will probably be fused anyway.

If that whole bottom 5 played will be gone is true I fully expect those characters to be DLC.

Somewhere on TRMK. If the bottom 5 rumor is true, then right now Mileena and Quan Chi are on the chopping block with Shang Tsung, Sindel, and Sheeva. Don't know how NRS is gonna respond to that, lol.

I need an actual link before I can take any of this information seriously. Not some vague "somewhere on TRMK". I did look around on there a bit but couldn't seem to find it. I would appreciate it.

Some of it does sound cool, while others not so much.

They all went into her.

Add to that the massive surplus of souls that Kahn invested into Shang to make him young again,and It's no wonder she became a complete fucking monster.

And Kenshi is forced to be forever butthurt.

And how exactly was Jerrod able to gain control of Ermac? This seems like a bit of a plothole. Let's just say they were murdered forever as punishment from the elder gods, and the souls within them were... whatever

Obviously, but I meant, if the souls don't maintain an individual identity, and simply add to power, why was any one soul able to gain control?

And yes, this is how I view it as being if Shang Tsung is permanently gone, though I'm sure someone knows something I don't that could probably be used as a loophole to keep him dead and keep souls identity when absorbed.

Man I do not like the Shang Tsung part... nor the Tanya or Rain part.

Shang Tsung is such an awesome villain and such a main character that to see him never return really stings. He's my MK9 main!

As for Tanya and Rain...

Rain could be a fantastic villain. There's allot of room to work with when it comes to his character he hasn't really been explored which means the devs have allot of freedomn.

Tanya on the other hand seems way to bland and uninteresting imo. She's a bland evil henchmen... like Kano but with boobs and slightly less body hair.

BUT if MK9 can make me fall in love with Nightwolf, it isn't impossible MK10 changes how I feel about Tanya.

Sounds cool. I actually really like some of the things said.

I think Rain has a more to offer and they have a chance to make him really cool. Really hope they make Tanya the new bitch in MK. Personally I can't wait for this next game. I loved MK9 but this next one I feel will lead to lots of new things, especially with the characters they bring in. Hopefully Kenshi and Scarlet will be apart of this...

And tbh, I really hope they let some characters go..and bring in some fresh new storylines. I mean they said Shang Tsung will be gone...
as long as its for a couple of games, which I'm pretty sure it will be I don't see why not.

I haven't been able to find the link on trmk. I knew I should have posted it originally...But trust me I wouldn't make this up just to get some views on my thread these are apparently leaked details of story mode in MK10. I didn't make these up in any way.
