I'm surprised only one of the variations has it as well, every time we've seen him he's had his hat on so it's kind of odd.

I'm now sure both Sonya and Jax will get Story Mode chapters.

In the Cage Family trailer we see her going up against Quan Chi and now in the System of a Dawn sneak pic we see her against Revenant Sub Zero. I think she will be the one to free the heroes from Quan Chi.

In the Briggs trailer we see Jax going up against Revenant Kung Lao and Revenant Kitana, and later he fights Quan Chi (poor man is becoming a punching bag)

If we'd have just gotten a new cyborg, a new tarkatan, 2 more villains and another MK4/MK6 reternee as playable characters there wouldn't be so many complaints.

But there aren't any villain descendants. Just heroes, All human, All in SF, and of varying degrees of quality.

This. If we were always set to get 4 descendant characters then I would've preferred a little variety. Maybe a son of Kano? A Tarkatan youngster? They didn't need to be ALL good guys, that's just boring.

And I'm not hating on all of the new characters either.

I think the four new Outworld additions are some of the best new characters since Kenshi and Deadly Alliance. That was literally more than a decade ago and that was just one character.

I also think Cassie Cage is sooo much better than Sonya Blade. I won't miss Sonya at all if Cassie is around for future games.

But then there's the rest..and no I'm not really feeling these guys.
Kung Jin might as well be Kai with a Kung Lao connection, No Capoeira and a Bow...Green Arrow much? And what's with that weird kick he does? Why bring that back for him to use? To borrow something from OSW Review: "Tanya has that move and Nitara. Are you having a laugh, Kung Jin?"

Jacqui is nothing special. Maybe if Jax was kept dead and she never really knew her father before he headed out for MK1-3 she could be better in terms of character development. But Jax is right there anyway so who cares?

And while Takeda and his whips are indeed really cool he reminds me of Roman Reigns in how pushed he is/was and corny he can be. Unless he's specifically written to be a dork but I still don't like the first thing and I don't think that was their intention with him.
