Also he is a typical strong black man.

As opposed to what? It's a fighting game.

A smart fast elegant black man. Just cus its a fighting game u have to stereotype people. Not cool man not cool.

So a strong character who happens to be black in a fighting game is a stereotype? Almost everyone in the series is strong except for wormy dudes like Quan Chi.

Jax is also pretty smart (he has to be for his job and he's seen operating a lot of compllex things) and fast(everyone in MK is fast but his rush punch is really fast), a lot of characters in the games don't get to showcase their intelligence often because they're usually fighting.

If anything Jax's "cliche" is that he's US Military Special forces. Nobody calls Stryker a typical strong white dude.

Also if Jax was a tribute to blaxploitation heroes, he'd have Darrius' awesome alt costume.

Speaking of which, Black Dynamite would be a fun guest character.

What makes him a stereotype is the way he talks his alt costumes hahaha also if he is so smart why did he destroy the world in his ending and why is he always losing. He is also very hot headed. Reiko is smart. Shinnok is smart. Jax not so much.

How anyone can say Jacqui is a dud before Ferra/Torr is beyond me. Ferra/Torr are barely featured in the comics/story trailer, have another Shang Tsung flesh pits backstory (much like Skarlet, but hers was called boring more than theirs), don't bring much to the game in terms of design, and have been the least featured of the first few new characters.

I mean, at least Jacqui can get a new costume, and then she'll probably be much better without the bland special forces look. Her gameplay sounds like it'll be awesome with those changing arm things and it could really spice things up.

At the very least, don't write her off before the game comes out.

What do you mean the way he talks? I'm not sure which ending you're referring to because Jax doesn't destroy the world in any of his endings and he's not "always losing" as you put it. Everyone has lost a fight or two in this series.

Jax also having one out of character alternate costume doesn't actually override his character.

Reiko and Shinnok are smart? But they're the ones who never succeed in their plans in the end.

Jax is shown operating crazy special forces tech in a few of the games so he's got to be intelligent.

Wtf he locks Kano in a computer and Kano ends up taking over the world. Also how many times does sonya save him. How many times did he get owned for rushing in. He got in a fight with Johnny who was on the same side as him for talking about sonya instead of just using his words. Yea so smart right. A smart person would think before acting. Also when has a bad guy ever won?????? But anyways this is getting off topic.
Kano doesn't take over the world in that ending. His mind is locked up for good. Judging by that makes me think you didn't really pay attention. Again, if Kano did take over the world in that, it'd be non-canon and not count.

He got into one fight with Johnny because they were both in a stressful situation and Johnny wouldn't stop saying stuff about Jax's partner who he respected, that makes him dumb.

By your logic Reiko and Shinnok were smart characters somehow despite not displaying the kind of intelligence Jax has and Jax is stupid for losing fights yet we've seen Jax win more battles and not get sent back to being a wannab usurper who never accomplishes his goals or get banished to the Netherrealm for millenia. Jax was right about Outworld planning to invade and he was prepared as all hell for MK3, he convinced the US Government to create the OIA, etc. So when a bad guy loses that means that they're still smart somehow because the badguys just lose? You can't have it both ways.

Dude the bad guys never win in mortal kombat. It would be the end if they did. Mk9 is a fine example of that. And check Kano ending. It take after jax puts Kano mind in a computer. And yes that does make him dumb. Johnny was not like hey let's fight. Jax started it. Raiden keeps his cool and try to talk to people. Jax runs in blind. Also wtf read the comics and u will know how smart reiko is.

How are they trash? They're both unique and original and have the potential to be very fun to play as.
