Well I for one think the new characters have great potential, and D'Vorah is probably my favorite so far. Kotal Kahn and Ferra/Torr look good as well, and even their move sets are really impressive.
But I know not everyone feels the same way.
To each their own.

I agree with you. If the characters look like crap it is a HUGE influential factor for me A.) trying them out and B.) becoming fond of said character.
However I think the new characters look awesome. D'Vorah is the first Female character that I could see myself maining.
Kotal looks like a beast. I am usually not to high on characters that use beef up moves (him throwing totems to boost *something*) however he looks cool enough to give him a shot.
I love that Ferra/Torr have broken the frame on mainstay characters in Mortal Kombat. I think that is something MK dearly needed.
And Cassie looks like a cool character, much more interesting than her mother who just seems like her initial inclusion in the game was for a walking, talking set of .. I won't go there, she has many fans; I am just not one of them. Cassie looks cool and doesn't have to show skin to attract attention.
But anyway, On to the point at hand.. I think it is clear that MKX will be Boon and Co. moving away from the trilogy. I think was their plan all along. MK9 being a final send off and fitting reboot of the franchise to grapple most of the hardcore fans back to the series; While attracting new fans.
The shear amount of new characters as well as limited spots of returning roster indicates that this game will be new, fresh, and more than just a spin on the previous titles after MK trilogy.

I think his point is that because Ed Boon and the MK team holds onto the Trilogy era characters is because that's what most people want and therefore making a game with those will cash in the money.

That your wish to diss all MK 1,2 and 3 characters for the 3D-time characters is foolish, and wouldn't work. MK would be erased from memory when that happens.

Well, that's not true. I'm not going to suddenly forget MK1-MK9 just because NRS made a new Mortal Kombat with no characters from those past games...

For one you are putting words into my mouth, two: assuming things, quite intentionally just to try to piss people off, three: refuse to back anz of your claims with decent, civil points, four: constantly trying to troll the site, and five, being an enourmous cunt while doing it.
if anything, my favourite Mk is the very first one. You do not seem to have the necessary capacity to comprehend very basic notions, and childishly try to justify yourself by acting like the proverbial ostrich.
Your behaviour is quite telling. You are not the first one, either.
Your difficult english-word use is annoying, it's like you get off on using words most non-English speakers never heard before, and want to sound smart in doing so. I'm not going to translate every freaking word you're using. Like how am I suppose to know what proverbial means?
Speak basic English please, we are not all professors and nerds.

And do you think the developers would say "most of the cast is new, but they're shitty so they'll be gone by the next game"? Lol
Obviously they create characters expecting them to be popular and stick around, but if they're poorly received, they'll be gone, and there are a lot of chances of that happening

Boon did say that he has two new favorites. D'vorah is practically a given to be one of Boon's new faves. I'm thinking Tanya could be his second?

I agree with this statement. MKX is going to be very exciting, as it ushers in a new era of mortal kombat. I really think we all are going to be surprised with how little it follows the games from mk4 and on.

If English isn't your first language, then major props to you for speaking it as well as you do, but no, using big words doesn't automatically make someone pretentious.
Sometimes, people just have a big vocabulary. It doesn't necessarily mean that they're trying to impress you with how smart they are or how many ten dollar words they can string together in one sentence.
It could just be the way that they talk. I've been on this forum for a long time and I've never had the impression that Chrome gives two shits what others think of him or how smart he is, so I'd cool it with that line of thinking, but that's just my opinion.

Well in Holland/the Netherlands we have to learn like 4 languages, French, German, English and Dutch (which is the most terrible language of all)
And i'm probably better than i've shown on this forum, most of my mistakes are typo's because I type much to fast and i'm extremly lazy to go through my own posts and correct the mistakes I made, on the mobile phone it's even worse, I hate typing on that thing.
The worst part is the order I put the words in and probably the punctuation, which is also a sign of laziness.
I just hate it that Chrome uses unkown words to me (and I really know a lot of strange/difficult words in English, D&D books helped me a lot here) all the time. It gets annoying when I have to put those words in a translator the entire time, and frankly, even in the Dutch meaning of the word I have problems with some of the words he's using.
And that is no compliment for Chrome at all, just speak basic English (like many people say in movies, in English please, mostly to professors and nerds) to non English-people.
I am among academia, I do tend to use literary or scientific language, I'll try to keep it S&S.
Many of us have/had to learn languages, I had to learn Slovak and Czech because I was born in Czechoslovakia, and it was mandatory for Hungarians to learn either one. Or both if the state was a dick. Among other less savory obligatory things.

The Great Majority of post mk4 Characters are great and better than average in the trilogy. The only thing that gives them little popularity it had not said games with great gameplay. A game rescuing 22 of them (or dilute it in 2 or 3, before an armageddon others), would make indelible part of the franchise for fans as much as the first characters.
