I'm all for alternative costumes. But ppl seem to be clamoring for the classic costumes...again. MK2 this, MK3 that. Didn't we just get all that old nostalgia in 2011? Do we need it again in 2015? Will this be a reoccurring request in every new MK entry? If so, that's wack. This is X. 10. New generation. No time for MK2 costumes, in my opinion.

I myself prefer alts that heavily modify the character, like human Cyrax and Sektor, old Shang and dark Raiden in MK9.

I hated the MK2/MK3 costumes in MK9. They were so dull! No more 90's please.

In the 3D games, the ninjas had great costumes, like MKDA Scorpion or MKD Sub-Zero. Oh, I do want to see Shredder Subbie again. Movie Kitana is welcome too.

Willing to bet that any costumes that were dlc in the last game won't be in this one... Anyway would love lots of alts, honestly I'd like some brand new costumes as dlc too.. But don't think that'll happen

How will having alternate costumes work with the variation system though? Each variation has physical differences in terms of how the character works. Like how the brim of Kung Lao's hat glows in one variation, the band in another and the writing/logos on his outfit glow in the other.

How would that work if you wanted to, say, use his MKDA primary as an alternate costume? He doesn't wear the hat in that one.

I'm just wondering how they'll make alts work with the variations.



That concern set aside, I'm hoping they stay away from Trilogy era costumes. We just had that. I'm more interested in seeing brand new alts, and perhaps MKDA-MKD costumes reappearing as alts.

The only one I want to return is a costume based on SZ's unmasked MK3 attire and it seems they nailed that one in #1 of the comics. That costume HAS to be an alt for SZ is all I'm saying. Other than that, I want new shit

As much as I'd love to see 8-10 completely new outfits / looks for characters, there has to be a balance.

Casual MK fans who remember the old days will still want to see the old ninja outfits and that's regardless of the fact that we just saw that stuff in MK9.

Ideally though, I'd like to see about 8 outfits for ALL characters, both returning and new. Based on how old a character is, maybe they have four classic looks and four new ones.

If a character's only been around since MK4, then maybe they only have one or two classic looks and then six new ones.

I'd really like to see NRS reimagine some of the characters for their looks and not simply recycle the nostalgia stuff one more time. I'm hoping that their concept artists are doing a wide variety of stuff for each character, and that we get some drastically different takes on all of the characters.

Oh, but no goofy crap. No Christmas outfits, no "at the beach" type stuff or any corny stuff.

I am all for the more alternates.

For example, if Tanya makes it, I want the following kostumes

Primary: her original MK4 primary. with real eyes, and original, short hair with ear-rings.
Alternate: Her original MK4 alternate dress with skirt, that is re-done so it doesn't look too pixelated as it did in MK4
3rd: Her MKD primary
4th: Her MKD alternate
5th: newly designed.

plus a whole lot more.

Since MKX uses variations, it would make room for more and more alternate kostumes PER variations. That will be a LOADS of alternate kostumes.

Not only should there be plenty of alts, AI-controlled opponents in single-player should sometimes wear them.

As far as the ninjas go, if we got the classic palette swap outfits back again, make sure they all get them, this time. Mileena not having her MK2 outfit was such bullshit.

Boon said in one interview that they would not do alt costumes per variation, because they don't want to obligate the player to use only one variation because of a costume, or not use a costume because they don't like that variation. So, basically, thats why they made the glowing things, or the little objects to add to the costumes in each variation, despite alts.

No Trilogy outfits, please. Let's leave that behind. I would personally want-

Default outfit
Alternate outfit

And for all returning characters- 2nd alternates that feature costumes from MK4-MKD.

Yeah I don't want to see any MK2 and 3 alts either. Especially since they were all ninjas anyway. New alts that fit the current story.

I agree. The more costumes the better. I openly admit that I'm going to be one of the sheep buying every piece of dlc for this game, so bring it on.

Mkx has a very mature art style and costume design so far, so I would like to see them continue with that theme.

Now, I have not played injustice, but wasn't all the costumes from the comics/movies? There were no original costumes were there?

I need clarification there because if that is the case we may see less alt costumes in mkx considering the main and primary alternate will be original costumes. Which of course takes more time and money.

I'd rather have a primary and an alt. Nothing more. I'm not really the kind of person interested in how many costumes I need to choose from to see what it's like soaked in blood.

Another thought that just popped in my head:

Since we have the comics and an artist that is matching the mkx maturistic style. It may be viable to have multiple original costumes per each character.

So far we have seen a possible alt for Scorp and subby. (Both of which I really want included) I am sure we will see more and more potential alts in the comics.
