Dude, me too. I've been waiting for an updated Select Screen for a while now. Hopefully soon!
A lot of people seem to be on edge today. People really need to lighten up.
I do hope they update the select screen to. If they add the 4/5 to it for the next stream and the roster number stays at 25(26th being random), then I think that's all we'll be getting.

Could anyone tell what that weapon on Erron Black's back was? Looks like it might be some kind of Blunderbuss. haha

Guess whose not Boot #2?
For DLC last time, we got one new character (Skarlet), one guest (Freddy), and two returning characters in the form of Rain and Kenshi. If we`re keeping with a form roughly analogous to that, it stands to reason that we`d get one new guy at least. Erron`s a good candidate for that; as a mercenary henchman, I can`t see him having a huge role in Story mode; focus really seems to be going towards Cassie`s crew as far as new guys go.
He`s absolutely in methinks, but I wouldn`t be surprised if he were DLC, one of the guys they`re working on right now. Doesn`t matter, they`ve got my money for him if it`s the case.

The Kombat Pack is said to have two guests and two KLASSIC characters, though. Erron doesn't fit the bill for either of those, and NRS isn't going to be working on any DLC past that unless the first season does well.
I can't see Erron being DLC.

If he's DLC, he's not Kombat Pack. Doesn't fit the description. They'd have to be planning more DLC and intentionally using his status in the game (and popularity with fans) to hook a future sale.
In any case, he seems to be on equal footing with Ermac, Reptile, D'vorah, and Ferra in Kotal's force, and no one can write him off as "comic cannon fodder" anymore. It's almost inconceivable that he wouldn't be main roster. Not impossible, but it would just be really freaking weird to leave him out when he's in every one of the same scenes with the others and clearly not a random mook.

Right now, Erron Black is on the same list at Shinnok, Rain, Johnny Cage, Sonya maybe, and Sindel. All of these characters were shown in the trailer and they can't all make the cut.
Like Shadaloo said, a later DLC spot is always an option so hopefully at least by the time the Komplete edition comes out he'll have made it onto the roster.
Red Dead Kombat ftw!

Bull-fucking-shit Shinnok will be playable. People need to lower their expectations when it comes to that motherfucker. Erron as DLC makes no fucking sense. The guy has been pumped out lately and the several times he appears in this trailer (compared to the one time Shinnok is seen) pretty much makes him one of the five characters confirmed. Erron as a background character doesn't make sense either, as he is way too detailed to simply stand there. Erron is the fifth character Boon was talking about. Shinnok will probably hardly be in this game.

I don't really see the point of having Erron in story without him being playable
With Mk characters from other games they are easter eggs, cameos and story tie ins
Don't see how you can have a new character filling that void

I can't disagree with this. They've spent way too much time on Erron Black (game and comics) to just toss him in the background.
Shinnok is a 99.9% given for the game but it certainly won't be as a playable.
Boon only said there would be five reveals, he never said only five of the new characters in the trailer would be playable and that's it for everyone there. Takeda, Jacqui, Kung Jin, Mileena, Shinnok, Erron, and Johnny can all still be playable, because I'm not sure that Erron and Johnny's quick "blink and you'll miss them" appearances are what Boon had in mind when he said that.

It's definitely a given he's gonna be a boss in some capacity.

Just gonna repost these words o`mine from another thread:
....introducing a badass cowboy henchman (likely with low story time/prominence) into the comics to encourage the fans to develop an attachment to him, only to charge extra $ for him later would be a masterful marketing tactic.
(...)
I`m not saying everyone aside from 2 other characters we saw today aren`t necessarily playable, but if I had to make that decision today, that`s how I sees it.
For the record, I think he`s absolutely in, and I agree that him making the main roster makes way more sense - and of course none of this means I think we need to exclude all but two of today's non-playable appearances as selectable - but I could sooner see him as DLC than I could, say, Shinnok, who`s never been amazingly popular, or Mileena, who is far too big a piece of the plot to relegate to the sidelines.
Erron's cool and all, but they could totally cocktease us with him throughout story mode, never have us actually fight him, and charge us for him later.
I mean, I hope to sweet crap that won't happen, but I'm prepared for the worst.

But once again, the Kombat Pack's not going to include any new characters, and they've already said DLC after that depends on how it does. Erron being DLC that's not even being worked on right now seems impossible, especially when that wouldn't come out for a long while. I don't think they'd want to hype up a character they're not even sure will be DLC like you're suggesting; that's just bad business and possibly setting people up for disappointment.

I think it's a given the DLC is gonna be a success just like with MK9 and Injustice before it. It's almost a given we'll get more stuff outside of the 4 Kombat Pack characters.

I'm sorry, but although you've raised some good points, Erron as DLC makes no sense. NRS has been cockteasing this character since his first appearnce in the comics, and they know how big the love of him is. Teasing Erron then going "Lol fuck off pay £10" is not how NRS operate, and they never will. If this was Capcom or Activision, then he'll yeah they'd do that, but NRS wouldn't. They aim to please their fans, and kicking Erron is not only senseless, but just doesn't fit NRS M.O. Erron will be the fifth character supposed to be revealed and Shinnok will not be playable at all. Not even in DLC. He's too big a character for DLC but he's not big enough to earn on a spot on a roster this exclusive. He will turn up as a camoe and opponent, but that's where it ends. Besides, there's lot of people (Johnny, Sonya ect.) that are way more profitable than Erron. Stop working this angle.
