Does anyone think that Kenshi and Ermac will cross paths in this new timeline too?

Ermac is a safe bet as he was already leaked via the first artwork that was posted of him.

Ermac is surely a safe bet. Hope he looks like the scarecrow-ish design. That would be sweet.

I hope so too. It helps that they gave his 3 variations with the leaked artwork too. Kinda solidify's it as being legitimate.

I'd bet it happens at some point in those 25 years. Did Shang Tsung absorb ALL of Kenshi's ancestors? If not, I wonder if its possible Ermac is harbouring one of them.

That picture proved nothing of a reveal for Ermac. The artist even stated it was fan art, and I quote: "Here is a concept I have been working on during my spare time. This is a fan art piece of Mortal Kombat's Ermac. Sculpted a maquette in ZBrush, rendered in Keyshot and textures/paintovers in Photoshop."
I really don't think he would have just posted this picture for a reveal without saying, "Hey guys, Ermac's in cause I drew this!" Because then we would have already seen Ermac by now...

I've seen more bizarre things from NRS's corner in terms of cryptic reveal methods. What are the odds the artist Randomly chose to do 3 variations of Ermac? That doesn't seem a little too coincidental to you?

He's also harbouring King Jarrod who we could also see as a variation. I would llike to see a female Telekineses user instead of Kenshi himself.

Ermac should have that Scarecrow-looking, regal outfit. NRS would be really screwing the pooch if they didn't consider it and went with something else instead.

Yeah that fan art was badass. He definitely needs a new look. MKD costume was great, but it's time for an update.

Am I the only Ermac fan who doesn't want him to look like a scarecrow. His MK9 alt was perfect, they should keep it like that.

Where did all of this Rule 63 come from? That descendants interview?

In one of his 3 variations he is un-hooded. So you could just play with that one

If the artist gave him three variations, it wouldn't say anything to me other than the artist is having some fun with his work.

We don't know if his arcade ending is canon. And what use would King Jerrod give Ermac?

The artist DID give him 3 variations and it says something to me that it is closer to legitimate than if it didnt. Especially since the Ermac "fan art" was released before E3, which if you can remember was before any of us knew how the variations would work let alone how many there were.

That still doesn't tell me this is a "legit" reveal or close to it. The guy works for Netherrealm Studios, so of course he's going to say stuff that we fans wouldn't know. Again, having fun with his work. Whether it slipped out or not, still, this doesn't sound like anything close to a reveal, no matter how badly people want this character in or not.
Not to mention, none of the characters has ever had gotten revealed in this kind of manner, why and how would Ermac be the character that has that happen? Get revealed via fan work of a senior artist of the company? That just doesn't happen.
I'm all for Ermac being in, but this isn't how I see him getting revealed because everyone else has been revealed through trailers, like they've always been.

I don't know, with NRS anything is possible, smoke for mk9 was revealed through a computer screen of his damage renders. this is not out of the Realm of possibilities.

Well, Smoke was revealed after a leaked photo of an artist working on him, that photo wasn't really the initial release of Smoke, what came later did reveal him. (Because that huge outcry over his hair is something I completely remember)
They wouldn't release concept art for a character days before E3 and says it's got nothing to do with the game, then weeks to a month later, turn around and say it is. That's just... a really stupid thing for them to do. I get that they love to have fun with their reveals but this wouldn't be something that gets us, it would really just be... kinda dumb.

It's why it's called a leak, not a reveal. If it was a reveal, then it would of included his 3 variations, X-ray and a fatality on a big screen

I think it would be kinda cool, like, "hey we dangled this right in front of your faces and you all had no idea, haha"
But why do it you ask? Besides having fun with the fans; it creates hype, and hype is the best thing for a video game, especially coming ahead of E3 where they would be able to showcase the game for millions of gamers.

That would be nice, and hopefully on positive terms like in MK:DA.
I have a feeling Kenshi's role in MK9 might have nullified that, though.
I really hope Ermac makes the cut. I don't think the render that was released guarantees anything tho. Since there are rumored to be 8 returning characters I can't see more than 4 being "ninja's". I think there is sadly still a very good chance Ermac won't be playable.
That said, if he is in the game I hope they don't stick with him becoming King Jerrod. IMO that was a lame twist and ruined the mysterious enigma thing he had going for himself (or themselves??).
