I wouldn't say definitely Jason, but I think the hints definitely contribute to a horror themed reveal.

Regardless, my contention wasn't with people thinking it could be something else, like Liu, just don't make a statement "he's just throwing idiots off with Jason". Taking all the evidence into consideration, thinking Jason has a decent chance, on Friday the 13th no less, is not idiotic.

Fair enough, I guess I just hope it's not him since a guy like Baraka is apparently very one dimensional and hard to create variations for, thus being left out by NRS yet a freaking horror character with just a blade can get in?! I'm sorry, but I seriously cannot think of any other thing than the guy just using that blade. I cannot believe somebody could say with a straight face that Baraka or even Havik are more 'bland' than this dude. Spawn and Predator you can do something with, but even the most creative guy cannot do shit with Jason.

He has 35 years of a wide range of pop culture to pull from. You really don't think they can find some iconic moments in that to satisfy the fans that buy him?

For what it's worth, I think there's plenty you can do with Baraka.

As for Jason, there's so much to draw from, and so much material to work with...I'm having a hard time trying to limit what I'd like to see with the character. Visually, he looks different in every movie(12 movies). Gameplay wise, he's going to likely be similar to a Bane or Grundy, but with weapons at his disposal. There's easily enough to fulfill 3 variations. Just off the top of my head you could have a quicker Jason, base don his human form, a slower more command grab heavy Jason based on his zombie form, and then a weapon based variation using all of his tools and weapons he's used to kill people over the years.





Fatality wise, he's gotten so many kills, in several different fashions, it's a lot harder to narrow down what to choose, rather than coming up with them.



NRS has been great at making characters really ooze personality with their visuals and gameplay etc. I'm pretty sure they can make it all very interesting.

I think the Friday the 13th reboot was distributed by Warner Bros. Pretty sure it's Jason as they would have to go through the trouble of getting the rights to use Michael. The Nightmare reboot was also distributed by Warner Bros as well, which probably made it easier for them to get Freddy's rights I'm sure.

You can call it being a "wet blanket", exaggerate it, over dramatize what people are doing when they say "wait 'til it's confirmed before celebrating", or put any unnecessary sassy underlying insult to it you'd like, but if the person has a history of flipping balls and giving the biggest emotional breakdowns when something doesn't go their way...that's why people do that, including myself. If I know someone has a history of flying off the handle and losing all emotional control, lashing out at everyone when contradicting news comes in that upsets them...it's the nice thing to do by trying to calm that fire a tad. Why you seem to take that as someone stifling your fun, excitement, or ability to speculate...is beyond me. It's just over exaggerating the truth.

If your friend got a call, and the person on the phone said "Congratulations! You've won $50,000!" and your friend immediately starts celebrating like a madman and buying shit left and right...when nothing has been proven...if you wouldn't step in and try and insert the possibility of "hey, what if it's not real? What if things aren't as they seem, we should probably dial it back a little 'til we know for sure". On the flip side, if your friend is super pissed about something, lashing out everywhere, are you not going to step in and say "hey man, it'll be alright, in the grand scheme of things is this really worth all this anger and rage?" Then you're simply an enabler. But no, we should let that friend just feel the way they feel right? Sometimes it takes an outside perspective to bring an un-biased take on the matter, or bring new things to consider to the table, that may help.

Hell, I saw you go into the Johnny Cage thread earlier and say they were being to "show offy" about their favorite character's inclusion:

Meanwhile, you're preaching "let people speak!". Not to mention your own "show offy" "over the top" comments such as "Surprise Bitches" "Rain will be in 100%", and "you'll look like an asshat in about a month", while leaving replies to anything not sharing the exact same conclusion jumping excitement, in a very sassy middle school girl like manner.

I personally would love Jason in MKX. Or even Spawn tbh. I'm one of the few not against guest characters. It gets more eyes on the game which is more money so they can keep making MKs.

Cue the guest announcement to boost pre-orders. I'm not a horror flick fan, so I'm not really excited for it, but those kinds of characters are appropriate guests for an MK game.

The big question, for me, is will anyone use them long-term? A lot of people used Freddy online for about a week or two when he first came out, but after that, he was a rare sight. Kratos, too. I wonder if these guests will have any real staying power online, or if they'll just be a flash in the pan.

im not a guest fan but i did enjoy Kratos he fitted really well. plus i liked his ending with Faiden and Fujin.

i liked how they incorporated Freddy into the MK universe being from the Dreamrealm etc.

but im not a fan of guest characters when they take up possible MK character slots.

I agree also I don't really like big brute characters. I like fast characters and I know Jason will not be fast. Also I always thought Jason was dumb and that all the people in the movie died in dumb ways. I'm a horror fan but not a jason fan. I only use to look at the movies to laugh hahaha. Now kI is making a character I want to buy.

I agree. Never been a fan of guest characters, but if people like him, then so be it.

I hope one of the future skin packs includes 11 alts for Jason. But that's wishful thinking

Meh... efforts put into Jason could have been used to bring us more MK characters..
