Simply because I'm not a big fan of either, I'd rather the roster slots be given to other characters.

Plus there needs to be heroes in the 5 years after MK9 and 15 years after MK9 parts of the story.

They will most likely be playable.

Should they be? It's hard to say. Everybody looks so damn good. With Cassie, it'd be a bit of a challenge to set them all apart.

If it were up to me? "No". Does it make sense? "Yes". I expect to see them against my desires. I just have no clue how this roster will look.

Do I want them playable? Perhaps one(mainly Johnny) but at the end of the day I could live with both being left out and only in story mode. Maybe they could be DLC.

That said, I won't make too big of a fuss if they make it in because after seeing Kano- NRS has made me feel like they could get me interested in ANY character now. I found Kano boring, pointless, and bland, but boy did I get a surprise. So idk, I guess we'll see what comes.

They will be playable if not in main roster.....in DLC...make sure of that.

Which makes no sense, as they are in that game too.
It would make alot more sense to NOT put them in, and then tell people who DO want to play as them to go back and play MK9, because then they CAN play as them.

55-ish is "too old"? If you're worried about her looking saggy and worn, clearly she won't look like that, since this a video game. She'd look just as good as Sindel, if not better.

I disagree. Her moveset and playstyle are already far removed from anything her parents could've instilled in her. The moves she does take from Mommy and Daddy differ significantly enough that it's not an issue.

Ed Boon said they're playable, and I think he knows better than anyone else.

And everyone saying "Kano kills Sonya in story mode so Sonya won't be playable" just because Cassie and Sonya are both blonde although they do not share hairstyle, costume, special moves and Kano/Cassie rivalry isn't even a thing from what we've been shown :-/

Bottom line: Cassie's new presence does not de-confirm or debunk Sonya. NRS has already proved that they can design highly distinct, exquisitely updated characters. Assuming Sonya would be redundant standing next to Cassie is barely an argument. So what if one (1) of Cassie's variations incorporates similar moves of her mom. It's an homage, not a direct copy/paste job.

Remember last just last week when everyone was declaring how boring and bland Kano was? This week, they can't get enough of his dick.

The same will happen with Sonya when we see her variation trailer, if she is indeed playable.

Listen, I love Sonya. In fact, I feel there is a big four in MK (Raiden, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, and Sonya). I've always felt that she's MK's leading lady. However, I felt that for this game (and possibly future titles) that Cassie would be her spiritual successor.

Now, we have talk of Johnny and Sonya being in the game. How can you not think that will hurt Cassie? She was going to get the best of both worlds. She has a pool of both Sonya and Johnny fans who could and most likely would play as her if Sonya and Johnny were out. Will that still happen if these two are included? Idk the answer to that, but I would venture to say that they would just play as Sonya or Johnny.

Plus while she won't play exactly like Sonya and Johnny, her moveset already does pay homage to them pretty damn well. So, while we could have someone with unique powers like shadows, water, telekinesis, sais, bladed hats, wind, etc.., we instead get two characters who are already represented with their movesets. Also, No I am not saying they are taking someone else's roster spot before people jump down my throat about that. I'll simply say NRS should have chose different characters or perhaps shown Johnny and Sonya having a child at the end of MKX.

Idk, Like I said, I love them. However, I don't want Cassie overshadowed in her first damn appearance. If this game is about moving on and bringing in NEW elements then Sonya and Johnny should sit out too because their daughter is a part of the NEW which this game is bringing.

I hope they only appear strictly as storymode cameos.
