I have never been a fan of Smoke... until MK9 where we see him as human. I prefer him that way, and I'd like to see Sub-Zero stay as a cyborg ninja, as I've been in the same situation with him - never really been a fan of him before he became a cyborg ninja in MK9.

I see absolutely no reason why Smoke should be turned into a cyborg at this point. He's been a cyborg since MK3-MKA, so it would be nice to keep him human for an era now. They can switch back in the next reboot.

Edit: Forgot to say that I quite like the whole demon aspect of him in MK9 and I hope there will be more of that in MKX.

I never liked cyber smoke. I would much rather him become an enenra (or stay human) Only i hope he looks nothing like his demon form from mkd. Since he died as a human, I would rather him become a demon fused human instead of a demon fused cyborg.

Anyway, the human, and/or demonic versions of Smoke, should all be in the game, as alts for only one version of Smoke on the roster.

The idea, you see, is that Smoke's soul would break free of Quan Chi's control, but only to find what has been done to his body. That a rotting, robotized version of himself is all he can go back to.

That would bring even more tragedy to Smoke's story, as Raiden didn't completely manage to prevent Smoke's automation, but rather, delayed it, and also got Kuai Liang automated.

Automating the dead could lead to the new Sub-Zero encountering the robotic corpses of Smoke and Kuai Liang in the story mode, and again, Cyber-SubZero would only be an alt for the "human" version.

Anyone besides me who'd like to see Cyber-Smoke returns?

As for Smoke though; I really like his MK:D-MK:A design where he's actually a living entity made of smoke.

I also have a feeling that in MKX he will be somewhat vapor form again, because you can clearly see a figure in Kotal Khan's variation that resembles Smoke.

As a fan of Human Smoke, I waited over a decade for him to become human again... They made him human in MK9 and it paid off... If the made him a cyborg again in MK10 it would be a huge slap in the face...

Actually, this gives NRS a reason to pull a Darth Vader with Smoke and have some random character turn Smoke into a cyborg to do his bidding. The cybernetic implants would sustain his life. Predictably, it would be Noob Saibot, who successfully escaped the soulnado.


This is even more likely if Cyber-Sub doesn't make a return.

Cyber Smoke has always been my favorite of the three cyborgs. His MKD cyborg look fell flat though. His "ninja" outfit was the shiner.

I'd love to see him as a cyborg in MKX, even if it's not ethical. Actually, there's really no reason they couldn't have human and cyborg in different variations, as well as the Enenra, IF he returns.

I liked him better as a human, loved his design in MK9. His alt design at least, hated the troll doll hair.

If he was to be in, why not all 3? One for each variation (cyborg, enera and human).
Could also bring him back in his demon form, from his MK9 ending.

There wouldn't be. Not a valid one, anyway. But having a cyborg costume just for one of the variations doesn't mean that it has to be canon.

I wouldn't mind. I like Cyber Smoke , especially in the MK3 era. I don't know how it would work story wise but if they could some how work it in I think him having his Cyber form as one of his variations would be cool. That way the Human Smoke fans and the Cyber Smoke fans would be somewhat happy. Or they could just have his Cyber form as an alternate, kind of like how in MK9 they had Cyrax and Sektor's human forms as alternates.

I would enjoy seeing either one, the only thing I don't like about MK9's Smoke was his hair, that is why I only used his alternate and MK2 costumes.

Cyber-Smoke is my favorite cyborg, and the only version of Smoke I've ever given the least bit of a shit about.

But it's too late twice over.
We need to wait for this timeline to run its course and them to reboot again and retell MK3 the way it was supposed to be told, without any gimmicks or "shocking" twists about characters knowing and changing the future.

I like Smoke as a character overall i'm not really too picky about whichever incarnation they go with. As we all know death is never set in stone in the MK universe


Though as a child of the 90's i'm slightly more partial to his Cyborg appearance but regardless of his form i'll be happy with the inclusion of Smoke. Similar to my stance on Reptile though I like his MKII and MK:DA appearance the most.

No, cryomancers using necromancy sounds absurd. Technological zombies created within a church sounds awfully similar to Meat. Minor changes like a metallic coating, processors in his skull and typical zombie traits combined will not make him develop at all.

I want to see the demon and the reformed cult from Smoke's ending save him from the Netherrealm for their own purposes. The demon or the cult could be adept in ritual sacrifice and the revival of burnt victims. They sound like the better choice in bringing Smoke back to life.
