There could be more than just one of them. I think Reiko has a pretty good chance. He also happens to be one of my favourites from MK4.

I'd be happy with any of them but in my own personal opinion...


Havik: Unless the Chaosrealm plays a big part in the latter part of the story I think he'll just be a cameo. If it is indeed important, he will be playable.

Kai: Could be the Bow character. Earth's heroes are pretty much gone in the beginning of the story. They need all they can get, I think he's 50/50.

Reiko: Hopefully, he's pretty big in the comic. But no new costume says he may die in the comic or just be a story cameo.

Fujin: Same deal here, no new comic costume and apparently a mention of his death in the challenge tower. Not sure if he'll make it.

Tremor: Doubt it. He might appear in story or upcoming issues of the comic considering Jarek and Tasia already have, or maybe challenge tower again.

Sareena: She'll definitely appear in Story mode at the least. They won't show us the Netherrealm war/ Brotherhood HQ and not show Quan Chi and his three girls.

Tanya: 50/50. She was pretty majorly requested DLC last time, that gives her an edge I think.

Shinnok: He's a lock for Story mode appearance but he might not be a playable character.

Although with the recent comic chapters we got, you can put Reiko there as well. he seems to have a good part in the story especially Kotal's story.

I love Sareena and Havik but don't think they'll be playable. Havik stands a chance though.

Shinnok is a lock for the game, but I'm really hoping that he gets the "unplayable boss" role that he missed out on in MK4.

Reiko seems like he could play a big role in the fall of Kotal Kahn. I wouldn't count him out. Plus, if he still has ties to the Brotherhood, there's potential that he could play a part in the Nether Realm war as well. I also wouldn't mind seeing Reiko Kahn as a boss character.

I'm hoping for Tanya, as she's the one 3d era character I want to see brought into the next gen. However, she really only has a 50/50 shot. If she reappears, she's going to be Shinnok's bitch, and I'm okay with that.

Fujin...I'm iffy on. His moves are being borrowed left and right, and he didn't get an updated appearance in the comic. Like Tanya, 50/50.

Sareena could actually play a pretty significant role in the game if they knowledge her past with Sub. Still, she's been axed from the series three times already. If they don't decide to use her now, then they probably never will.

Kai doesn't seem like he has a shot, especially with rumors of Kung Jin going around. Maybe he's been reinvented as the mysterious Bow user, but otherwise, I'd say we can count him out.

Tremor? I can see him being in the background as Kano reveals his nefarious scheme, but not much else. Maybe DLC?

Havik? I'm not sure where all the hype comes from. Sure, hes a really cool character, but unless the Chaosrealm plays a bigger part in the plot, what's the point of having him? I could see him maybe allying with the Nether Realm...because....reasons...but otherwise, I just don't see it.
