Nope. Hate me but I did like his two legs. Maybe if he would've remained that way he would have had a shot of appearing again.

I already had an idea. He grabs you punches you one time in the stomach still holding your left arm. Uppercuts you so they land towards his tail, then tail whips the shit out their face crushing their skull anatomy.

I would only want him from MK2011 if they could have managed to make it work. I don't want him now. He was meant to die in the MK3 era, in my opinion just like Kintaro was meant to die in the MK2 era.

100% Agree!

I am not a programmer but I would love to see why u came into conclusion its simple because its 2d. LOL..

Simply put all four legs are moving back and forth in a linear scale going horizontal on the screen. So instead of a 3D scale which would be Vertical, Horizontal, 360, 720, 1080 Etc. He's going from point A to point B on the stage. The only thing he would be limited in, is the use of Environmental objects. He could Gallop across the screen. He doesn't need a run animation like normal human fighters. Plus his fist, tail, or projectile style could be styles. It can be done. Look at doctor boskonovitch in Tekken 3 he played the whole time from the ground. Weird programming but it worked. Anything is possible on a 2d scale.

I wasn't talking about X-Rays for Motaro, those would be easy. But every character's X-Ray is designed to work on an opponent with a human anatomy. So pretty much every character, that attacks the opponent from behind in their X-Rays, would basically attack Motaro's ass.

Of course you could disable them when you fight against Motaro, because he's a boss. But if you could use X-Rays even against Shao Kahn, who is THE boss, why should Motaro suddenly be the exception?

Well if X-Rays can't be used on Motaro then one solution is to see he deals more damage to his meter similar to Akuma in SF who has all his base stuff but still takes more meter damage in place of it.

Motaro won't have the same intense feel as he had in MK3. Translating it in 3D I don't know if it could work.

Yes! Bring him back!! Hell, people hated Stryker and they made him cool. Motaro deserves a second chance (Armageddon doesn't count). I think they could make him pretty badass.

I would've been pleased, if NRS was able to create him, but considering how much it'd take to make him "right", it's not worth it.

So they make 3 versions for 30 characters and balance that craziness, but Motaro is a problem ? I don't think so! He is immune to projectiles, other bosses are not. He'll be immune to x-rays as well.

booN, you have 6 months at least, so you can do it homie. You are obligated to do so, cuz you humiliated him in Armageddon. Honor one of the best bosses! Bring back the savage!!!

Motaro's the worst boss character ever! He pales in comparisson with Moloch, Kintaro, Onaga, uber-Blaze, Kahn, and Goro.

On another note, Motaro is (sort of) a... horse. I like horses, and I don't want to murder them.

Would welcome Motaro back but I think his death in MK9 was NRS' way of quietly escorting him out of the series.

I think that Motaro is better than Goro And Kintaro and a good 95% of the post Mk4 characters.

C'mon people want the yellow clad Jade called Tanya and Ed Boon with make-up named Reiko, and then they refuse to a really original And intimidating boss?

He is not intimidating. He's just annoying.

Don't get me wrong - I like his story, the whole rivalry stuff with the Shokans, but it's a thing from the past and should stay in the past. We don't want to revisit the same thing over and over, do we?

Given the fact we got little on motaro in mk9 outside his attack or given death a nice bg update and rivalry with the Shokan race would be nice. And lets face it kahn drained shang tsung of his essence and put it into sindel who was ressurected by quan chi. No reason motaro can't be brought back. Look at zombie liu for example.

Yes I want him in, he is awesome and I loved facing him in the old game.

If they could do it then, they could do it now. Don't make excuses for them with all of this 2D/3D nonsense.

Actually, there are many reasons and they have nothing to do with Motaro being dead. But if they do bring him back, I'd like to see him as an NPC... a horse for sale at Outworld's marketplace. grin

Motaro was awesome back in the day...he was (and still is) my favorite sub-boss character ever. He was a giant scary creature with unusual powers that always seemed right on the verge of violating the environment/arena during gameplay. But, while it probably would be pretty cool to see him with the new graphics and everything on him, he's sustained enough damage as a character concept over the years now. So I'd have to say no, leave him out. He didn't make the transition over into the world of 3D graphics and animation well at all, and the last straw for me was when he lost half his body. That was it.

Honestly, I think he'd fit right in-to the environments that they've developed for MKX. A giant half man half horse/monster in these really dark arenas seems appropriate, and it's an idea that seems to fit the original aesthetics of MK3 when he first made an appearance. But again, they killed him in the story and his appearances haven't helped him at all.

One last thing here... I think it was a mistake allowing us to have playable control of him. For this character, he should never have been a playable character except for in games like MK: Trilogy and MKA (and I'm hesitant saying that). I feel that way about most of the boss characters tho. Until they raise these boss & sub-boss character back up to a level where they seem impossible to reach, beat, or play as, I don't want to see any of them as playable characters outside of specialty games. They're all far too accessible the way it is now.

You know, I was just thinking, the whole issue with Motaro is that you'd have to find a work around for X-rays. But instead of simply disabling them, Motaro could counter them and initiate his own X-ray. That would probably be the biggest, one time surprise in MK.

You initiate your X-ray, to deliver the finishing blow, and then BAM! he hits you right in your stupid face. Interrupting your X-ray, and initiating his own, which does double the damage of a regular X-ray attack.

Give me your definition of "annoying" then, 'cause I could say that all the sub-bosses and bosses were "annoying". Maybe that was the reason they succeeded in the first place.

Motaro was unique And original, only Goro reached the same level of freshness and challenge. Kintaro, Shao Kahn in Mk3 and Moloch were lame.

I do have my personal theory why Motaro it's not a gameplay character: because he is Hard to animate. Netherrealm studios has some talented guys, but they are lazy. Cutting Motaro off means less work to do.

What I can't accept from Ed Boon is "blaming" the fanbase with sentences like "nobody wants a huge monster that fills Half of the screen" when obviously this isn't true.
