I hope they lied about 5 reveals because if they didn't, then the chars are the three kids, mileena and black. rain's chances are shitty if only five from this trailer are playable

D'Vorah was shown for a split second, seemingly part of the evil alliance, I think Erron is a safe bet based on that and he is our fifth.

DLCs will probably be heavily requested MK3-UMK3 snubs or Jax/Johnny/Sonya whom I'm really starting to doubt will make the initial roster if simply because there would an overwhelming amount of Special Forces/good guys if they were all in.

Rain and Sindel appear to be cameos, wouldn't rule them out as DLC though.

Ed already ruled out Rain as DLC he's either on Disc or not playable in the game

I'm glad you brought that up, because it seems rather silly that the new good/descendant characters are ALL in the Special Forces.

The 4 are obvious. Takeda, Jacqui, Kung Jin, and Mileena.. But that 5th spot. This is a heartbreaker. I love Shinnok, and have wanted him playable since Armageddon. But if I have to pick Shinny or Erron Black I'd pick Erron Black.

No new character shown so far really has a cool factor like Erron Black.

I think Erron Black is that 5th character with shinnok being unplayable.

All of you seem to be misconstruing Boon's remark. He said the trailer reveals five characters, not that the trailer only has 5 playable characters.

Liu kamg will be playable but yeah congrats your boy kemshi will be in. Think about it all the descendants will have their old family member in. Kung jin=kung lao, takeda=kenshi, jacqui=jax, cassie= sonya and johnny. Shinnok and liu kang probably are unlockables. Im praying mk4 people are dlc. Fujin probably will be the rain of this game and tanya will prob get in along with reiko. Ivdont see him being in off the bat.

Erron looks like a cowboy ninja which I personally think is a horrible idea.

And yet, NRS only did the one wave of DLC characters with MK9, and only a total of two more characters after Injustice's first season--and NRS outright said they didn't plan those characters (Martian Manhunter and Zatanna) at all until the first characters sold so well.

So NRS has shown in the past that they really don't do a lot of DLC characters and don't plan that far ahead with them, so I don't see why they'd be doing so much set-up for a brand new character who won't even be in the first Kombat Pack even when his model and everything was already done for the game. This is especially befuddling when, as mentioned before, Skarlet sold the poorest out of all of the MK9 DLC. I think they'd want to avoid doing anymore brand new characters as DLC. I also really think you're off-base with Shinnok; he was on the DLC poll for MK9 that they did.

and um the fact that sub-zero is kuia liang is technically a character reveal

those were the only 5 names spoken throughout the trailer(well and kano)

So Rain and them could still be playable

Seriously, I think it's because A) he's a much-needed fresh face in the series; and B) the fact that NRS can stick a Mad Max-like cowboy motif in the MKverse and actually pull it off as of right now is impressive.
I hardly know anything about him and yet I'm finding him more appealing than the good-guy Goonies/Special Forces mashup.

Erron is just.. badass. Reminds me a lot of John Marston now that somebody mentioned it.

If Fujin/Shinnok aren't in the game I might consider maining him or using him as my secondary. I just hope he is a rushdown character and not a zoner.

I''m actually glad Takeda is official. There wasn't much reason to doubt, but the last few reveals were kind of puzzling. Looks like they were saving the newbies in batches. I just hope there is more development behind him than one of Cassie's side bitches. He has a promising back story in the comics.

I think you could be right; but I really want Erron Black to be confirmed as playable already, I know he will be because it's pointless having a new character not playable but still...

I will be so bummed if Rain isn't playable. I'm still gonna hold out on the fact that he has a completely revamped costume and that Ed said he wouldn't make us pay for the same dlc twice.

I don't think just five will be playable... Why would they waste time making a new model?

Especially if it is just a cameo.

It's not like he's gonna play a super huge role as a cameo, otherwise he would be more likely for dlc, but going with the aforementioned statement about dlc, I really think he will be playable.

I don't think he expected us to catch him in the trailer.

Not to mention, I don't think it is a stretch to say that more people like Rain than Sindel (no one even used her last game).
