Oh, they'll have something for E3. It might not be playable(but I'm thinking it will be), but they will at least have some pics, trailers,etc...
Ed even said we would hear something really soon. And E3 is pretty soon. I don't see why they would miss that opportunity.

and as for Boon's bad day, everyone has them. Doubt it has anything to do with this elusive and non existent game.

I am just pessimistic and impatient at this point. I have no real factual basis on my complaining other than I am impatient as fuck at this point.

Although waiting sucks. I don't mind if they take over 2 years to release this game. Because the longer it's in development, the more polished it's going to feel. That's why I'm glad MK isnt with Midway any more. I'd like to think WB is given them more than enough time to made something great.

I agree. But in the past, they release a game every 2 years, which should be enough time to polish a game.
There must be some other reason besides time limits that MK games always feel unfinished, or unpolished.

I really dont think 2 years is enough time to start a game from scratch. Mk vs DC abandoned most of the game mechanics of the previous games. Too be honest I was impressed with how much they could do in just 2 years with just MK vs DC. It just needed maybe another year to add content, more varied moves, more balance etc....
I would imagine most great quality games take over 2 years to make.

When exactly is E3 anyway?

It has been over 2 years already since its been in development...they were supposedly working on it during MKvsDC. It was stated in an interview some time ago. Anyways,I am thinking it will be there regardless.I think he may have gotten into some trouble with posting hints and answering question before E3...I say this because he is basically posting plugs for the new Batman game. That is a hint to me as saying "the WB told me to shush".
And E3 starts June 14th...IGN E3 Info Here

You know to be honest i'm actually happy we haven't gotten any news. All we end up doing is criticizing everything we see before the game actually comes out. I hated the fact that we got to see all the fatalities for MKD and MKvsDC before the games came out... part of the fun is actually seeing them for the first time on ur opponent! There's an MK game in the oven and the team is hard at work and that should be good enough... A showing at E3 would be great though as long as they don't give too much away

Very good point.
Revealing all the fatalities takes away some fun of it. But to be honest, I really don't care about fatalities. I never bothered to learn any of the fatalities. However, if they did integrate fatalities to the actual gameplay I would pull them off.

Now, I guess, assuming its actually gonna show its elusive face at E3, what will it be? Just a trailer? Or a playable build?
this is all speculation i have nothing to go by but..
Assuming the game is scheduled for release sometime this year i think it should be playable at this point in time.. however i think all we'll see is a teaser and maybe some gameplay footage.. if it is playable then i think only 2-4 fighters will be available
I know this isn't the place for it but for the sake of discussion since Ed's been quiet... what do u guys think of moves that would cripple fighters during the fight..they'd basically be like brutal grapples that would cripple your opponent (think MK4 style grapples but with physical effects) they'd make ur opponent slower or receive some damage when blocking.. things like that! kinda like mini fatalities during gameplay keeping the fight brutal and giving you the pleasure of finishing of your opponent slowly over the course of the fight..

ok im guessing:
-it will be at E3
-Playable
-They will have a rather concentrated presentation for it.
-4 Playable characters.
-Trailer
-Talk of what the big plans for online are.
-Release date.

Well if the game is coming out this year. Then waiting this long means they are going to ahve to do soemthing rather forward with it. If they want the hype, E3 is the absolute latest that they want to reveal the game.
I cant deal with this, ive literally been on MKO every day this year since february waiting for something. hahaha
You know that part in "Armageddon" where that guy loses it and starts spraying the asteroid with that machine gun?
pretty close to something along thos lines. lmao. This seems unlike Ed as of late, not even having Noob.com up and going. If we dont get the game at E3, its safe to say that we are not going to see this game until 2011.

Yeah I was thinking that too. God I hope its at E3. Seriously. I am fucking hoping to hopes end.
Hopefully the team is keeping quiet since E3 is less than a month away, and planning on an big E3 reveal. It's been in development for about 2 years now...I'm thinking they are just polishing things up at this point. I joined twitter JUST to get some damn MK9 info...and after reading over many of the MK team's tweets, it sure as hell seems like they are well on their way. The fact that Hector mentioned playing a build of the game is a good sign. I agree with the above post...if it's not at E3 I can't imagine we will see this game in 2010. I'd rather a solid, well balanced game than a rushed, average game...and hopefully WB will give them the time they need...but yeah, the lack of info is pretty annoying.

rushing is what messed up Armageddon. I hope they take all the time they need to make MK9 as good as it can be. With Warner Bros. backing them money is most likely no problem so don't let time be the problem.

Just thought I would post it here that NinjaBoy66 tweeted in response @mekinose that the MKast will return. It was kinda posted in that MK9 facts thread but it is better to be posted here. EDIT: Also,I asked him about the YouTube channel and it is legit.Subscribe now @YouTube MK Community Manager
Anyways...I am wondering if it will go live before, after or during the reveal?

well this fire and ice stuff, is probably just ed f'in around, but did anyone else notice hecterrific's comment

i searched the term to see if there were any previous mentions of this snappy, on the midway boards, specifically the mkvdcu boards, hecterrific using the name mk_hec, talked of a turtle that lived in the studio parking lot that they named snappy. well eventually this became a pretty extensive thread, its main topic became a debate over wether or not snappy was a hint about reptile being in the next mk which then soon became mkvdcu. now its certainly possible that the turtle has since returned to their parking lot and, and nothing more, or is hec making a reference to this old thread. with ed's very recent tweet of "Fire and Ice," could those comments be related? are they hinting at the existence of the original three "ninjas" in the next mk?
or maybe this is really far fetched, but its fun to guess at this shit
