Wow........some people on this site really blow things out of proportion, when it comes to MK.

I seriously doubt that the inclusion of one "guest"character....ONE "GUEST" CHARACTER!!!!!!! is going to put this game in the same category as MKvsDC.

People whine and moan about how we dont get anything, but when we do, all hell breaks loose and it just shows that we dont deserve anything when a majority of the fans act like little spoiled brats.

They should confirm the 360 exclusive already, I wanna see some chaos.

I don't think he was referring to a certain console base. he is trying to soothe the current situation that is going on.

Actually I'm not talking about guest characters at all. They posted on Facebook or Twitter that it was going to be a big night for MK and that there were going to be reveals(or something similar to that). They hyped all the community but in the end only the PS3 owners got a reward.
Some of us were expecting a new character reveal or relevant info about the game itself. They said they would reveal a character if they won for most anticipated game and I'm sure many 360 users wrote-in and voted for the game hoping we would get something cool. Yes they didn't won but they still revealed Kratos. In the end 360 users got nothing. That's what I meant for them favoring one console.

And yeah I agree, I don't think having a guest character is the brightest idea but oh well..

To the people claiming Kratos appeals to a different age group than Mortal Kombat, let me ask you a quick question.

Also Guest characters a terrible ideas because yea it makes sales but for all the wrong reasons. If they wanted to make a game with guest characters they could just use the same engine and just put all non MK characters in the game and make a completely new game for sales of that purpose. Someone who buys MK for Kratos will like MK for Kratos and then be all whiny and butthurt when the next one is released without their little greek pussy.

Oh ok, yeah you're right. Now, I agree the 360 should not have a guest character but at the same time I want them to announce someone for it just to see people going crazy.

This sentence could apply to either game. We're talking about Mortal Kombat, the series that has made a name for itself with its brutality and blood its entire life. I personally don't stick around for those things, but don't think for one second that Mortal Kombat appeals to some higher brow gamer than God of War. That's a bad joke. What I'm saying here is not some excuse for Kratos to be in this game because "Kratos fits in the game", it has to do with people seriously suggesting GoW is made for 13 year olds yet MK is apparently some fine foreign film only attended by the culturally refined minority. That is being completely ridiculous and unreasonable.

Lol why is it that when Kratos is in MK9, everyone is all pissed off, yet when Sonic is confirmed in SSB: Brawl, everyone is creaming their pants.

We were told Kratos is going to appear in the upcoming Mortal Kombat game and he's taking Rain's spot.

My biggest issue with him being included is whether he'll be initial or DLC.

I don't think it's fair that a FOREIGNER should be initial when MK veterans get to be DLC.

There's no chance he's DLC guys... they would not and could not promote a DLC character from a game that still has 4 or 5 months until release.

As a major GoW fan, I’m looking forward to what can be tossed up. I’d still go with the piss drunk idea.

I’ve stated my displeasure as I have last game, but it’s pointless. It really is folks hohoho! Just accept he’s going to be the focal selling point and enjoy the hordes online. Rolling on floor laughing my ass off and other internet lingo.

The part that scares me is how many of these folks haven't heard of Kratos. It reminds me of when I overheard a bunch of middle-aged white guys saying stuff like "Who the hell is Kanye West? One of those nu-metal rock stars?"

I don't see what the big deal is. I mean, before Kratos was announced, if they had to make a choice on a guest character, I would have put Kratos at the top of the list right away.

Of course he can't have anything to do with the story element (Subman799 recommended a non-canon bio & ending for Kratos. Which I'm cool with but, I think that's as far as you take a pure fan fodder guest character.).

And to the folks who think he's going to take a spot on the roster...

1. He could be DLC... I mean, he's probably DLC dudes. heh...
2. This is a 2D game coming out in year 2011.... there's ALOT more space to work with now-days than I think you may be giving credit to.

The possibility of having around 30 characters, bios, endings, story mode, all these top class arenas, arena deaths, fatalities for everyone, a complex fighting mechanic, online capabilities (which is essentially separate from the disc..basically), room for however much DLC they want, room for saving your stuff, a krypt, and music and sound FX, oh, and ONE guest character too..... is feasible now.

I'm not worried at all and can't really understand all the fuss over Kratos specifically. Not unless it's like that post I quote for truth a few pages back where, dwarfing MK characters in favor of a guest character is considered.

However, after giving it some thought, Kratos is a pretty new character himself. To believe he dwarfs Scorpion kinda discredits the fact that everybody loves that yellow ninja. Most of this roster is pretty popular to this day, as a matter of fact. Hell, the names associated with this game are the ones that everyone who plays this game, are the ones that everyone will remember because, MK2-MK3/Trilogy is the last games most of the "causal fans" have played with.

So again, what's the fuss about?
