Excited for kratos after thinking about it a bit.

I do hope however, that the roster will end up complete after DLC in terms of getting out hands on Rain, the Mystery female, Sheeva, Jade etc.. because with Kratos and all the recent leaks, it doesnt look like all of them will launch (all as in chars from MKT) and some will have to be DLC.

Seriously, they are MK's two most recognizable characters. We didn't see Sonya or Raiden. boo hoo. Of course they are going to use the two most recognizable characters to bring in an equally recognizable guest character. Doesn't mean I support this, but....what did you expect??

You're way off base. Those are complaints about things that might change and things maybe we should give some feedback on. Character design and characters are hardly the same thing. Kratos will be in the game, the end. Sonya and Kitana could have respectable alternate costumes if we as a community stand up and say that's what we want. That is something that does require feedback, and again it isn't just whining and moaning, I personally form my arguments so they aren't offensive to the team. They're also devoid of any unnecessary capitalization and punctuation; if you want to be taken seriously it's a good idea to at least sound serious.

Again, I don't get the "instead of Kratos" argument. We've known for a while there will be DLC of some sort, most likely playable characters since that will readily sell. This has been known since at least E3; surprisingly that was also when Jaffe said Ed told him about Kratos originally. So Kratos has been planned for quite some time now, the better part of our own knowledge of this game, as well as DLC. You cannot look at it as if they would have put a MK character in if Kratos wasn't there; you have to imagine they would have put in no one instead of Kratos, because that is very likely the case.

That was a pretty cool trailer. Shao Kahn's voice seemed to fit really well in this trailer. The arena looked really nice and the fighting was on point. The Kratos ending could've done a little better tough.

I dont understand all the stressing by the MK fans over Kratos, he is just a bonus character. He doesn't has a role in the story. And he is a badass character, easily the most MKísh character on the PS3 too.

And with Kratos being confirmed during midweek, it was obvious that the character reveal was going to be him. People expecting otherwise were being really naive.

That said, Scorpion and Sub Zero are the faces of MK. But it is really time to give other characters some shine too. Whether it's trailers or vignettes. Let people get to know the universe and characters in all their glory. Wouldn't be a bad move.

Sweet Tooth (move-wise) could fit in several ways.

If you look at the MKA approach where everyone had the same special moves just with slightly different visual designs.... Give him a flaming icecream cone projectile. or use his special move from TM4 where it is the 3 heads that come and surround someone. The TM4 one would remind me of the cloud noob saibot had in MKT. Or Hell, just have him throw the blade he is always holding.

I could see Sweet Tooth with a pretty bad ass throw as well. idk what exactly it would be and I'll get back to you on it but since he is a pretty big dude he could probably toss anyone around easily.

As for a fighting style idk... wrestling? All I know is that it can't be something fast due to his size but i am sure there are plenty of styles out there he could use.Judo maybe?

And well fatalities..... For humor. he could just run someone over with the Ice Cream Truck. Maybe his otherone could involve a much more brutal way on how he killed Calypso in his Twisted Metal Black Ending.

My personal opinion is I don't want Kratos in.

Some people say he "fits" for this MK game, but I say there are other characters that would fit this MK game better...

... like other actual MK characters. More MK characters would totally fit a Mortal Kombat game better than Kratos. I mean, we only have 60+ fighters we could tap into.

Sareena, Kenshi, Fujin, Sheeva, Rain, etc. all would be preferable to Kratos, thank you very much.

I'm let down to see him included only because it gives off the impression to other gamers that the Mortal Kombat characters and it's mythology are not able to stand on their own two feet without guest fighters like Kratos.

It's almost as if they are saying: "We're going to draw back in all of our old fans by remaking MK1-3, but for the rest of the world who doesnt have a clue about our franchise, our history, or anything about us at all, we'll include Kratos in there too so you have a familiar face who'll make things more modern and cooler".

I mean, the whole reason people voted for Mortal Kombat on Spiked TV was to see a character like Jade, Baraka, or even Sheeva announced and revealed for the game...a warrior from within the franchise back in their former glory. To reveal a fighter who's not actually from our franchise has caused the one thing I've feared most since I heard the Kratos rumour: The hysteria caused by his inclusion means he's becoming more and more popular and hyped about than the warriors who are actually from the game itself.

You can't promise us a nostalgic, remade version of the series and then confirm an outside, unrelated warrior to the fans after they voted to see these nostalgic characters. Of course some fans feel betrayed, and they have every right to be if they got their hopes up for nothing.

I dont think I would have minded Kratos if he was last minute announced and included, after the finalised Roster was revealed and a fair share of the MK warriors had a moment in the spotlight with Vignettes and combo videos, because at least that way we'd have had wave upon wave of solid information and attention focused on the characters which make Mortal Kombat so interesting. I could be happy with a guest character being included if the characters within the MK franchise demanded the spotlight while the guests took the back seat, but already it's been proven this is not the case.

Kratos has been the buzz of the week, people have not stopped talking about him for a while now and knowing the NRS staff he'll be likely flaunted off in some upcoming video's showing his attacks and xray moves, which will prolong the attention on him. And the more attention he gets, the less attention the likes of Sonya, Kano, Baraka, Goro, Sindel or even Reptile will get. My ultimate fear is that characters who were the foundations of this series, who were childhood favourites to a lot of fans out there, will be completely ignored to flaunt Kratos off to the new generation of gamer, and that all of Mortal Kombat's credibility and history will be sold out completely just to draw in some new fans.

In all honesty, with the way fans are reacting, it looks like a lot of people feel this is already starting to become the case, and it's depressing to think a game I grew up with would sell it's own characters and history short just to be appealing to some 13-17 year old kids.

I personally couldn't give a fuck about God of War, I've never played it and I dont think I ever will after hearing that "K" word so many times in the space of a week. But I'm prepared to completely look over this if the attention goes solely back to Mortal Kombat and we can see better promotions of the characters and features that actually makes Mortal Kombat memorable, so much so that it's almost completely forgotten that Kratos is even in this game.

No more drips and drops of information, if MK needs to be whored off to the media to sell to the masses, at least spread information about the franchise itself and the characters that have shaped it rather than guest warriors. As a guest character he's already caused more of a stir than some of the MK series most popular warrior's, and that's just a bad reflection on our franchise to outside gamers.

Yeah diehard fans. But what about 360 fans? As I said before, it's not the fact Kratos is in that matters, the problem is they are favoring one console over the other when they have fans on BOTH consoles. Someone should retweet that back to them.. I wish I had a twitter account just to do that.

Some people actually don't want the 360 version to have a guest character so it can remain a virgin, I agree with them.
