I hope Freddy doesn't get any kind of "Special Treatment" as Kratos did.

Because Freddy has died before and in more rediculous ways.

Hell in "Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare" he died pretty much the same way he would if Stryker did his "Have A Blast" Fatality on him. Only it's a grenade and not a stick of dynomite.

The bio is somewhat intruging and the extended video is sweet.

Back to the topic, I'm really liking the combos. He's really shaping up to being a very fun character to play as. I'm also excited for his first fatality. A little nod to the death scene in the first movie. Poor Johnny Depp....

I'll just put what I posted earlier as far as my thoughts on his gameplay...

Was so upset that Rain didn't have a low hit combo starter. Freddy's got a low hit pop up and lots of overheads, F**K YEAH! Gonna catch so many BnB's with my new crispy friend. Freddy's move set is looking quite A+ Tier. Practice your fuzzy guard Freddy haters, Mix ups all day! :)

Freddy and Kitana tag team, Fan and Claw combos to the face. Can't wait to take Fred into the lab.

In the original NOES 3 script that Wes Craven wrote he was saying every curse word out there. Called Nancy a whore at one time and even said cunt. That word is like banned in my vocabulary.

Speaking of Kratos' special treatment, I wonder if he'll get any for the furnace fatality? I think it's pretty obvious he'll get some for the other one, which I call "the Depp", as evidenced by Kabal's agony on his face. No way will Kratos display that much emotion.

For the furnace one, I could see Kratos actually managing to almost escape the furnace, with Freddy closing it in time to sever Kratos' ankle, followed by the prick dying of blood loss.

In all honesty, that is one lame bio. A sad excuse to make him part of the MK world. His gameplay also appears rather mediocre. I have always liked the idea of clawed gauntlets, but the way he uses them is rather boring. Even his special moves appear uninteresting.

NRS should have taken inspiration from characters like Wolverine from Marvel VS Capcom or Vega from the Street Fighter series. They know how to use claws.

All in all, I am very disappointed with Freddy Krueger being DLC, and especially now after I've seen his bio and gameplay. If they at least had made those things be awesome, I would be more acceptive of him... Alas, that is not so.

I actually don't think his bio is that bad. Sure, it's a little cheesy, but at least they actually tied him into the events of the game. Interested in seeing his ending and his babality.

I'm still kinda shocked that they put actual Freddy Kruger in the game...
I remember making reference to the feel of MK sorta mirroring that of old horror movies like Freddy, Jason, and Michael Myers. But, thinking about that idea makes me curious to whether they took the idea too far or not.

I understand how the environment of MK is set to kind of accommodate characters such as Freddy, but I'm pretty puzzled as to whether it was a good choice. Saying that because some of the characters in MK carry attributes of our favorite horror movie characters.

Kano = Freddy
Havik = Freddy
Scorpion = Freddy+Jason+Myers
Noob Saibot = Jason+Myers
Quan Chi = Myers


etc... And to be clear, all I'm saying with that is those MK characters carry some of the "scary qualities" of those horror movie characters. Not looks, but persona. Kano is a creep...like Freddy, Scorpion is aggressive, relentless, and haunting...like Freddy, Jason, and Myers respectively...and so on. Those characters are MK's "Boogie Men," so to speak...

But that doesn't necessarily mean the presence of those characters has actual merit to appear in the game. Just as well, I think they got some of Freddy's stuff incorrect. Looking to set the tone so that characters like Freddy can fit in MK kinda misses the point I think, and allows that incorrect choice to reflect in even his bio. That's likely not the motivation for adding characters like Freddy, but still, it's something worth looking at.

Freddy should probably have had something to do with Noob Saibot ("shadows" and "wraiths" translates better to dreams I think. why create a whole throw-away realm for just him?), or MK's Lucifer before Shinnok killed him. Because that's kinda Freddy's backstory anyway...

Freddy probably should have had more to do with the deal he made with the Devil, i.e. let me back on earth to have my revenge and I'll bring you the souls of the offenders children.

As for his moves, he probably should have gotten fire and like, holograms, or some kind of freaked out looking invisible moves (some kind of dreamy looking shadow-like teleport or something)... The crawling glove thing is good but, they might have done better if the thing crawled up the opponent and maybe slices them a few times. Because afterall one of Freddy's big things is terrorizing people.

Anyway, I'm on the fence about Freddy, but it's safe to say I'm leaning towards preferring not having Freddy in.

She'll be getting ANOTHER damage reduction along with other character balancing issues in an upcoming patch, If that makes you happy... Won't make any difference to me, And it's not like I hopped on the Kitana bandwagon... I've been controlling the reins since day one, Giddy up horsey.

Because people like you are fucking ridiculous. I don't care if you don't like him, or won't buy him. But for people to say this is all a ploy for money. Well, when it comes down to it, no shit. Everything is for money. All other DLC was for money, but you don't see people complaining. Only because it's people like you who don't get what they want. You act entitled to things when you get your hopes up for something. But in the end, it's their game, their money, and they already made the game. They can do whatever they want with it. But what won't change anything is bitching. I'm happy for Freddy, if it was another guest I wouldn't give a shit. But if it was any other guest, people would still have their thongs in a bunch. I'm not on my knees for anyone, so fuck you for that one. But you have to realize, some people like this. Like me, i've liked Freddy for a long time so because he's in it i'm happy that Boon and WB put him in it. And I find it hilarious some on here are seriously butthurt about it. It's funny that they believed they were right who the 4th DLC was. They believed it so much that their dreams were crushed.
