Favorite look for Shang Tsung?
I was wondering which version you guys would want to play as in the game? I know they show him as old shang in the "throne room" part of the trailer but I hope they give him his MK3 look with the face paint, I thought that was his best look. I didn't care for his stance though, would be cool to have that look but have his hair flowing and loose instead of in the pony tail.

I've always favored his Dead Alliance alt costume, the derivative of his MK2 and MK3 appearance.

That's tricky. Shang has a habit of wearing something that looks good mostly but has one glaring flaw.
For instance, in 3, it was the bright yellow pants with the thong on the outside. Could definitely do without that.
I thought MKvsDCU did a pretty solid job of recapturing the good parts of his MK2 and 3 looks, but I'd rather see him with his hair worn loose or in a braid than a plain ponytail.

This is how I feel my self on the matter. His MK vs DC outfit is my fav one for him,i'm hoping to see it in the new MK. Tho please MK team....no more thongs!

MK1. I love that full-on Shaw Brothers kung-fu camp take on Shang.
I could see changing the thong part of his MK3 outfit but I liked that look for him better over all, they could change the color of the pants too but I thought him being able to show off his build a little more made him more impressive than being covered in robes and the black face paint with the all white eyes looked cool.

MK1 - old guy
MKDA - red primary costume was pure gold to me at the time. Everything worked extremely well that way.
MkvsDc - good compromising and compiling of previous costumes.

nothing beats mk1 old man shang. i mean come on it is clearly a nod to the awesomeness that is lo pan in big trouble in little china, a movie that clearly had an influence on boon/tobias.

Deadly Alliance red robe all the way.
Everything else makes him look like a putz.

I think his MK vs. DC costume was his best look. His MK3 outfit made him look like a stripper.

Absolutely! I don't have a clue where anyone's coming from wanting to see him dressed like a Chinese peasant or a maskless ninja swap, but if there was a reason to dislike the red robe, it was the bizarre bulky mid-section.
If they're going to give him the regal robe look he deserves, it'd be nice to see some decent fabric textures. That thing was really bizarre.
The thought occurs that they're still sticking on strange and artless moulded pieces of plastic onto characters in MK2011with a really bulky and unelaborate Sektor, weird black stuff on Scorpion's chest...

In this version of Shang Tsung is when he looks all old and stuff(lol what else can I say) This is before he captures souls to get to his younger form. This definitely my favorite because it so clever, and so... retro? idk this is the best

I agree with you for the most part, but I think Sektor looks fine.
Except for the face. Not a fan of the new helmet.
But I don't think the rest of his armor looks like meaningless or "artless" bulk at all. We haven't gotten clear enough pictures yet for me to make a final judgment on it, but it kinda reminds me of Iron Man armor on the arms and legs, and the chest seems like it's meant to recall the old BMX chestplate from MK3, with all the black vent areas.
And besides, it's really hard to design a robot, cyborg, or suit of armor in a way that makes all the plates look like more than just...generic plates.

Original look was alright, for what it was.
They could always jazz it up a litte...

Old Tsung would be a neat twist.... Raiden keeps him from getting young...

I liked the face paint from his MK3 outfit. His MK vs DC look was great so a younger version of that with the face paint would be great.

I also really liked the deadly alliance red robes, but I'm in favor of a new costume.
Always wanted to play old Shang Tsung though. They can try to make him in between young and old, showing signs of aging but still being powerful at the same time.
