Well Directed but very poor story and acting wise...Cage is a good cast though.
I don't identify anyone from these series with the Mortal Kombat characters...not even scorpion and sub-zero.
This is kids stuff for the kids...they will love it.
Mortal Kombat game story is way better then this one. I feel like i'm watching Power Rangers.
But maybe this is what they actually want.
I'm not looking forward in seeing more of these episodes.

Someone always has to be butthurt
I liked this episode very much.
It was a nice take-on on the Johhne Cage story before tournament. I liked all this cameos and how they used footage Matt's young years. This is different approach to the Johhny Cage persona, but I liked it.
Also I loved that this episode wasn't heavy on slowdowns and used them more appropriately, then in the previous two episodes. And this episode had the better pacing, I think.
Overall nice work, I wonder how they would show Kitana and Mileena in the next episode.

One could hope. I think there's enough story for a full-length show, and ensemble shows are popular nowadays. However, none of the MK shows have done well in the past .
I did like the episode because it seemed very tongue-in-cheek. Maybe KT experienced what Johnny did when he pitched the series.

My favorite episode so far.
Good unique take on the character with good action and a touch of drama.
Very looking forward to the next one.

"I wish they would have used Erica Cerra for Kitana/Mileena. I wasn't crazy about those two other girls, they look too young and I don't think they look the part either. They're good for stunts, that's it. We'll find out in next weeks episode. Hopefully that episode is based on Mileena and Kitana's teen years or something. "
Keep in mind that at this point according to Canon...Kitana is supposed to look like she's in her late teens/early adulthood despite being around 10,000 years old and her arc was basically being the beatiful young princess assassin made to believe something that wasnt true by the man she believed was really her father coupled with the jealousy angle between those two...so her and Mileena looking really young fits for that kind of characters IMO.
Some people are just too use to the version of Kitana from the moviesplayed by Taliso which wasn't necessarily bad but kind of a missed opportunity as far as exploring and utilizing how good of a character she really is.

How is it possible for me to just - keep - liking - this series more and more and more with every episode? I'm going to hurt myself if this keeps up.
Seriously, Ed had me in stitches.
Lord god, more and more, please. Make it never stop.
Not too impressed with Tsung, but Mr. Tagawa has some mightly big shoes to fill. I'll wait and see.
God damn, this is some great stuff.

Ok Shang tsung talks to cage? Damnit they are changing things and I don't like it. Raiden was supposed to get cage instead, now he's gonna be evil? Aaawwwwww. How many people got Caged in this episode?

Best webisode so far!!!!! Why? Cuz Johnny Cage is in this one. Matt Mullins is an awesome Johnny Cage, 2 thumbs up!!! But my biggest hope is that Johnny gets to live enough this time, so we can see him get people caged in the tourney!!!!! LONG LIVE JOHNNY CAGE!!!!!!
KTANCH u better not kill Johnny this time, cuz he ain't a stuntman or a double, he's the leading actor, the real thing, he's Johnny Cage!!!!!!!

I don't recall Raiden EVER inviting Johnny Cage to partake in the first tournament. Shang Tsung manipulated him into entering the the tournament in the original film so I'm assuming something similar happened in the game's canon.
I liked this episode the most, nice in depth look at Cage. This episode makes you really feel for him. Better then the first 2 epsisodes which were nice, but a little bit too much in your face. I hope scorp, sub, etc will be given the same threatment. oww..and tsung....hmm...looks a little bit too young imo. But we will see how it ends up being.

Raiden doesn't invite Sonya either in the first film. I think the point is Raiden picks the roster if you like and They are invited by Shang Tsung who is effectively organising the tournament

I hadn't thought about that before with Raiden being the one who chose the fighters that Shang Tsung would invite, but on to the topic at hand. I thought it was very much interesting how this episode was done. Something new and refreshing, but most importantly, modern. I can really imagine that this is what Johnny Cage is supposed to have been like. The ending with Shang Tsung was really clever with just enough subtlety to make the first supernatural elements shown in the series believable. Overall, it was really solid, but I'm still not a fan of the censoring bit, though.

IGN gave it a 3 out of 10! They commented on how it didn't contradicted Cage's character or didn't fit with his character or something like that. Do they not understand that this webseries, while having some attachments to the game, is NOT part of the game's canon? If it was then Jax and Sonya would be SF not cops. And they wouldn't even know Stryker. Honestly I loved this episode, better than the two part Jax/Sonya/Kano bit.

This series, if it isn't, needs to be considered canon.
This is the pre-stuff to the game. It can easily be canon and no-one should have a problem with it considering how well they're doing so far.
As for IGN...bleh. It's their opinion that is warped. Tancheroen is proving he's actually paying attention as a fan himself. Based off most of the material that is being used in these episodes, it's all common sense steps that pre-date 20yr old canon material from the games.
What's sad if that rating is real is, how the hell do you misinterpret Johnny Cages' personality? Go watch the first movie, make that Johnny Cage younger, and give him a bunch of acting career problem. tah-dah... you should at least get something close to what we are seeing here, in episode 3.
smh

Gah, episode 2 was much better than this garbage. First they tried to pull off cheesy with his videos, and that was so terrible it didn't even qualify for cheesy. Then they actually try to take that terrible crap he marketed to them and do it with a woman instead of just leaving it at "your stuff is shit Johnny. Seriously, why cant there be a difference between low budget and terrible?
Only part I found remotely interesting is Shang Tsung's part. even then the acting was terrible, same with the story. I suppose the acting is passable for the series but for god's sake hire a better writer.
