If anyone's confused about the basic principles of commerce, however frivolous, I'm sure you can find an adult to explain the process of exchanging funds for goods and services.

The guy has the interest and means to commission art based on a concept.
He's asking for ideas. The fan-art forum is here to facilitate exactly that type of enterprise. If you wish to participate: do so. If you don't: don't. You can always dig into the fan sub forum and find something you do like.

Well, the artist who make this fanart concept sure is having a good time, as he/she is clearly ripping hanky off. If he wants to spend his money this way, then let him. Personally, I would never do that, as I think it's just insane and clear stupidity to do so, but I've seen people spend alot more money on something even more insane, so if anything, hanky is in the milder area of that spectrum.

I've commissioned several artists on the go. And a few are MK fans. Others draw DC characters. There's only one guy who I'd spend over $200 in. But he isn't available for commission, but he might open up in June/July.

I've seen artists on deviantART and even h-artist charge their commission prices above $200 for characters w/ backgrounds (70 just for one character with no color). So paying this much maybe a tad over, but the practice is normal (in a strange sort of way).
