He just looks like a Sub-Zero/Ermac clone. Where's the originality? Where's the uniqueness?

Well, first of all: Don't make him a ninja. Too many ninjas in MK and their palette swap look has lost its charm many years ago.

You said you want it to be original, but there is absolutely nothing about this concept that is original, not even the "moves" you gave him since you took it from the Terminator 2.

Instead of copying things, actually TRY to make it original, something that we haven't seen before. It can still be a white colored character, but if you want it to be original, then it needs to look and act like something that we've never seen before. That's the whole point behind the word "original."

You want advice, you have a few artists in this thread talking to you about how to change it. And if you're gonna say, "I want it to be original, but I still want it to be this," how can we give you advice on your beloved character if you're not even going to take a single piece of advice?

Hanky those designs are not bad at all. I have some tips to make him original. first try figuring out which realm khrome comes from. if he is from earthrealn, what ethnicity is he? Then look into that cultures warriors and how they dressed. adding some of thier cultures touches to the design of the costume will help with a concept.

I see that you made khrome look like an elemental in your design. what if he looked human but had some chrome touches on his design such as chrome armor? Your design is good and had some potential. just make several designs until one really sticks with you. it takes me a while to come up with my designs. As they say if you want something done, its better to do it yourself. keep up the drawing!

OK I'm gonna put this out there. Zmoke suggested Khrome to have Takeda's story. Takeda was the founder and Grandmaster of the Shirai Ryu ninja Clan, the clan Scorpion served. We all know that.

on the MKM website, it said Takeda had founded the Shirai Ryu during the middle ages, after leaving the Lin Kuei. Now for a normal human (not counting Shang Tsung or a victor of Mortal Kombat), this is an impossible life span. 500 years at least. My theory is before joining the Lin Kuei, Takeda fled Edenia during the Outworld takeover. A theory on how is escaped is he was criminal (most likely a theif), was caught, and managed to escape and find a portal while his guards were killed by Extermination Squads. Or he may have been a royal soldier, who fled from battle and found a portal. After escaping to earth, a Lin Kuei probably saw Takeda in a fight and offered him a chance to join. Takeda most likely, after years of service, grew sick of the killing, stealing, and lack of trust of the Grandmasters. He then broke of, went to Japan and formed ninja clans, notably the Shirai Ryu. He was most likely killed by Sareena, Jataaka and Kia (and if he really was member, Reiko). When the clan is resurrected, Takeda is not mentioned. Most likely he became a wraith like Noob Saibot or vengeful specter like Scorpion. The clan’s future is in Scorpion’s hands.

Now then for questions about why I believe that Scorpion’s ending is canon:
1) minus beating the boss, Scorpion’s endings have always been to canon
2)So this can’t be used against me, MK 1 ending. It said Scorpion could never again know his wife or child. It was unknown why at that point. now we know.

Ok, so if your going to go with that story you can add some japanese touches to your design for khrome. you can mix in some samurai flare or go completely different and add some kabuki elements to your design. the back story is just something to start with so it can inspire some ideas about the design of the character. doing some research on samurai, ninjas, andjapanese culture can give you ideas for a concept design too. I would like to see what sketches you come up with with 'cause those design were pretty good. I hope I helped out a little.

Just because Takeda founded the Shirai-ryu doesn't mean he was their leader the whole time. Then again, this was your idea to try and make him unique. He already has a rather non-standard hoodie that makes him somewhat middle-eastern to medieval in appearance. Checking on either places may help develop his look. But no to the mummy idea. Ermac somewhat has that with his bandaged face.

Khrome sounds way more badass. Plus MK is practically defined by replacing C's with Ks as much as it is for the ninjas.

That looks like a cross between one of the standard MK guards/Shadow Priests and Wolverine... I don't see anything unique here.

It's a mix of Batwing's (Black Batman) face and Wolverine. There isn't a character in MK with claws. Neither is there an alien. Which is what Khrome's head resembles. Now that's what I call hitting two birds with one stone. He would own all other characters left, right and center with his claws.

The closest character to have "claws" is Baraka. It's been done in a cooler way. So yes, there is a character who has them.
