it took me 7 years to Create Fear and 3 more character related to fear and explain the ending . i have pictures too and fear have more interaction with more characters . and fill some whole in the mk story's but he's fan fic .

just finished reading all the characters that start with the letter b and c. here's my feedback from those characters good and bad. don't take it the wrong way.

bachi li - i like the fact he is a guardian of a color. like the fact he can summon weapons. i don't care for his primary because it has to much purple. not digging his 2nd outfit. cool xray. i liked that he finally got peace.

black widow - not caring for her primary outfit. like the summersault attack special. enjoyed the sai boomerang special. xray isn't very creative. i liked the fact she trains fighters in her ending.

casilde - like the use of capoeria in her fighting style. not caring for her primary outfit. like the special night cover. interesting xray. ending was to short.

cerastes - like his fighting style. don't care for his primary attire. i like the snake whip kick special. enjoyed the xray. it would of been better if he killed reiko.

chi zong - not digging both of his attires. interesting fatality 2.liked his victory pose. to many projectiles.

clyde - like his primary attire. interesting special moves. xray is kinda boring. neat gory fatals. entance,match taunt,victory pose are kinda lame. enjoyed his ending.

cross - interesting bio. xray is kinda generic. neat fatal 1. victory pose could of been better. didn't care for his ending.

i'll post more when i read more. not hating on peoples characters but just saying what i think of the characters good or bad.

I'm still seriously worried about going against your character after reading her profile etc. I just wish I had written a more detaild bio opposed to a Mortal Kombat 9 style bio.

You should note that the costume description for Chi Zong is actually "Akari". Chi Zong doesn't seem to have any physical description.

thanks bbfreak. did not know. anyways just finished reading all the characters that start with the letter d. got bunch more to read. so here's my feedback.

dekai + dekio - i like the idea of 1 soul divided into 2 bodies. the outfits are bland. the match taunt was ok. didn't care for the special moves.

delilah - i like the fact she created the amulet for Raiden. the fighting style could be more in depth. xray is ok. like the ending. the victory pose is boring.

deon bordeaux - like the alternate attire. i like the wizard defense special. interesting friendship. i disliked that he defeated quan chi and shinnok so easy in his ending. fighting style could be more detailed.

destroyer 1 - like the idea of a cyborg with his own mind intact. interesting fighting style. neat fatality 1. xray could of been different.

drakon - bio is a bit to long. fighting style is a bit generic. liked fatality 1. his ending would of been better if his memory did not return. his victory pose is ok.

i'm not hating on anyone's character just giving feedback good or bad.

I'm glad to see that Kruor has been fairly well received. I agree, he does come across as being more of a boss character even though it wasn't my intention, but oh well. Thanks for all your votes!

I just read who Cerastes' opponent is... and it's a sumo woman who has a quite laid out character and storyline. Poor Cerastes will be squashed under her! Eep. :S

To answer your criticism, Scorpion and Raiden were battling it out with Quan Chi and Shinnok, who had been weakened by that battle. Deon didn't techniqually defeat them on his own, it required Raiden and Scorpion's strength to do that combined with Deon's magic.

I also didn't think adding how long the spell took or how much effort it took in the battle was necessary and simply would bog down the ending with excessive details.

I wasn't quite sure how to articulate his fighting style and that's my fault, though I had written more, I decided not to include it as to not talk in circles or explain things poorly, perhaps that was a mistake on my part.

I look forward to your thoughts as my round comes up, thanks for offering honest criticism.

I knew the costumes were going to be bland. I think that if i could draw them as i see them then they'd have a far better chance, but i know they sound generic.

@IHeartXenomorphs: Karundi is on day 9, which should start tuesday night.

I decided to follow acidslayers lead and start reading the characters alphabetically rather in just the random order I've been doing. Got through the A's and now my head hurts from a lot of info. I've also got a word document with 22 pages of notes for 51 characters.

My comments while editing and reading are meant for me only. To actually do a full critique, I go back and clean things up and look at the strengths and weaknesses of the character. This means going through my notes, reading the chracter for a second time and making new, cohesive, and helpful comments.

Needless to say it's a lot of work. And for the 51 entrants I've gotten through, I can't even think to go back and read all those again. I promise to get to the people that have asked me in terms of feedback. It might just take sometime. The good news is all we have is time because there's still about 3 weeks left for the contest..

I created an Excel file with the following categories:
-Bio
-Appearance
-Originality
-Specials
-X-Ray
-Fatalities
-Practicality (how well the character's gameplay seems like it would be, and also how well they fit as an MK character)

I give a rating from 1 to 5 (no 0, if something's missing I put a '?') for each category and then come up with an overall score for each character. It's not an average, as some things are more important than others, such as Originality and Practicality. Low scores in those two departments will result in low overall scores, even if the character has a great story, appearance, and moveset (although, if these seem unoriginal or impractical, I usually dock points from the respective categories anyways).

So far, I have rated the first 35 characters alphabetically, with the exceptions of Bachi Li (since he was already out) and Chi Zong, because there was no physical description of him. In addition, I have given ratings to MOST of the characters that participated in the first 5 rounds of the tournament.

Most characters receive just below average and average scores of 2.5 and 3 (respectively). A few characters have received VERY low scores of 2, and one character received the lowest to date score of 1.5. There are several scores of 3.5 and a few of 4, but three characters have managed to get a 4.5 out of 5, which is tremendous considering how picky I am.

Oh, and I'd like to point at that in this competition, a score of "average" (3 out of 5) is not good at all in my book. A score of 3.5 will make a character slightly memorable, and of course a score of 4 or better means you're one of my few favorites.

Once I complete all 96 characters (including the ones from the preliminaries who were eliminated), I will post the ratings in this thread. If you would like to know your score before hand, feel free to message me with your character name

It felt odd the way you kept repeating the name of his species and then introduced him. Maybe you could've mentioned him taking the name in honor of his species. [Maybe you did, but I can't recall it, atm.]

Yes it is. The end of the bio says; *His takes the name of his race as his own, in honorable respect, and to carry on the legacy of his fallen race.*

So "Shoulen", felt that taking the name of his race as his own would be known more to anyone than just his own name (which is unknown to you all for now).

Kahn has hunting the race for years. So Kahn knowing that the Shoulen are hiding no longer as well as on a revenge mission would make Kahn very uncomfortable. Kahn wanted the Shoulen's abilities for a reason. So also knowing that these abilities will be used against him makes him feel ever more uncomfortable.

Plus, in my story of Shoulen, He comes face to face with Baraka. But as we couldn't have "mid story bio's", I couldn't fit it into the "end bio". A mid story bio would have been another excellent entry into this competition.
