i just want to say a few things:
Serenity is a response to what i read in these forums. The few complaints i read about this game were: raiden is an idiot, there are hardly any good guys alive, and a lot of endings were dark/sad.

i know her bio sucks this is my first tournament but ill explain a little bit more
she is the goddess of time sent by the elder gods to follow Raiden's message and stop him from preventing Armageddon. When she gets there she participates in the tournament only to get closer to raiden, but as time passes she sees how the earthrealmers were struggling to win (namely in MK3) so she felt compassion for them and understanding of raiden's actions. pretty vague but i wanted to keep it MK style and not give out too much info.

and if you guys dont like the costumes im sorry i also tried to make it mk style as well so she hardly is wearing anything lol @ shaokahnhurtmyfeelings awesome job!

First things first good luck to everyone :) there are some mighty strong entries there which just confirms my own doubts about my own creation
Id like to give a little explanation about Malice and her design etc
The first thing about Malice was that her design had to represent restraint which is why belts are featured heavily in both her design. The idea behind her head brace/crown was that its embedded into her brain controlling her uncontrollable violent personality but they sometimes release causing her tortured mind persona to break free.
Her first costume was supposed to reflect her once high position within the Edenian Royale family while at the same time it having the appearance of a victorian straight jacket, I also wanted it to look old, faded and tatterd to show that shes been imprisoned for a long time.
I envisioned that Quan chi gave Malice her second costume upon freeing her but made sure that it had belts and straight jacket sleeves to make sure she could still be containd.
The idea of Iron lances etc was supposed to be rather symbolic, they are supposed be extension to her insanity and violence as well as her own torment
As I've said before when I originally submitted Malice she was originally a male character called Matthius ( hence when you read her profile your see I sometimes forgot to change the hims to hers etc) but I felt Mortal Kombat needed more females. Below is the original design I submitted, you can get the general idea of how her Tourtured mind stance would look

Duly noted. I was scoping out the competition, and I must say Ire is just brutal! The pire fatality really made me squirm. And his story is just awesome. Very well done. Hopefully we will meet in the second round :)

So you get one with a slimmer body and his "Buddy" in a humanoid ghost form and another with him being more muscular and a more chaotic looking spirit.

Everything's good, but I really the story the most. Kahn sure pissed off the wrong woman, didn't he? LMAO

LOL indeed, shes a bunny boiler of the highest order.

from what i read Deon Bordeaux and Ire are my favorite characters , also Marek comes as a close second and Merrick is also a very good char...there is something i don't like about his design but i think it fits him .
Mr Mute is something i see more of a joke character ( sorry if i upset anyone ) being something like a evil Mokap
Ekimaru has my favorite costume and i think that his gameplay is great too , a nice tooled char.
Also other chars i like are Neuros , De Kai and De Kio ( i think of them as MKs Yun and Yang ) .

As for Salzar's first opponent Aurora i think she is a very good design very cool moves and her ending makes me think of that awful show that was the shit back then...
Her story is cool but i don't realy understand why Raiden would kill her father...
The only thing i don't like about her is that she is French...lol jk xd Toughts on Salzar anyone?

@MKNewb: Thanks, what did you like about Marek? I'll look at your charater now, Salzar, right?

@ longlivequeensindel your designs are always so ornate and rich with detail, easily one of the best designs I've seen so far.

Her tie in to Shao Kahn, Sindel, and Jerrod is very fluid and works nicely, jealously is rarely used as a motivator in MK for warriors, nice touch.

Multiple personalities are awesome and I love the Night terror attacks and usage of her iron costume in her attacks, very cool moveset.


The acupuncture fatality is majorly brutal

The Gothic Crucifixtion fatality sounds very intricate and caught my attention the most, very impressed with its originality.


The intro seems really creepy and works really well for the character, really love the win pose as it encapsulates what the character is about imo.

I'm definately gonna have to put some time aside to get through these. One thing I noticed in my entry was that the accented a at the end of 'Sufrira' in my characters entrance taunt comes up as a box, but I assume thats a problem with special characters not working.

My first opponent, Nyctaro also has the ending of another character, Akari I think.

Casilde's great, love the hybrid caused from the realm merging approach.
Salzar's pretty good as well, love the focus on archery and the backstory.

Mmmm...looks like Malice went a similar route as Ravyn with emotion manipulation. If they were ever to face, it'd be an interesting battle to see who was stronger.

I like Casilde, your art is really cool.

Does the clothing of her alt stay on because of nipple piercings? That is awesome! Lol

I really liked your Deon Bordeaux, strangly enough one of my original ideas was to submit a witch type character who could transfere her soul into her pet owl.
I felt your character was very rich and well thought out and that his moveset was very pleasing and fit the game vey well i especially liked his Mystic Teleport description. Your character along with his first fatality is something I can easily picture.
