Though unseen in the present timeline: Ashrah was a demon of the Netherrealm who dared question the order of Quan Chi. Escaping her sisters and the Brotherhood of Shadow, she discovered an enchanted kriss that purified her evil spirit with every demon she slayed. Possession of the Datusha blade drew her into conflict with Nitara and the vampires of Vaeternus. She was last seen pursuing ascension on the eve of Armageddon. Her current fate is unknown.

Cyrax was a reluctant participant in the Lin Kuei's process of converting warriors into pre-programmed cyber-assassins. Appearing in Mortal Kombat X tie-in comics: Cyrax was seen serving the new Grandmaster Sektor -- until Kuai Liang returned to the clan to deprogram him. With Sektor's destruction, Cyrax became the new leader of the Lin Kuei, but instead chose to self-destruct in order to give the clan a fresh start under Sub-Zero. The resulting explosion destroyed the remaining cyber-assassins. Cyrax remains deceased, but his digital profile lives-on in Triborg.

Though wildly different, each warrior has gone to extremes in the name of redemption! Ashrah hunted her fellow demons to seek purification, while Cyrax chose self-destruction to destroy his fellow cyber-assassins. He was last seen fighting a new generation of heroes, but his MKX ending proposes a possible future where Kung Jin helped him cleanse his spirit of evil, escaping the Netherrealm.

New York cop Stryker was another of Earthrealm's protectors to perish in the new timeline. A revenant of the Netherrealm, he aided Shinnok in his first invasion of the Sky Temple. Twenty-five years later he battled the Special Forces in Netherrealm, unseen after the capture of Quan Chi. Stryker was an unplayable presence in Mortal Kombat X, awaiting an unseen fate in the Netherrealm.

In the original timeline, he was manipulated into resurrecting The Dragon King. In Mortal Kombat X tie-in comics: a new reality reveals Shujinko as a master of the Kang Temple. There he safeguards the Kamidogu Dagger of Chaosrealm, drawing him into a grand scheme orchestrated by Havik! Corrupted by the chaos cleric's blood code, Shujinko fought Takeda and Scorpion. The details of his new past and future remain unknown.

Liu Kang was last seen in the Netherrealm after Shinnok's defeat, standing by Kitana as they look toward a new regime in Hell, and fresh conflict with Raiden.

Jacqui Briggs is one of a new generation of warriors fighting to defend the Earth! The daughter of Jax followed in her father's footsteps, joining the Special Forces while he toiled in the Netherrealm as a revenant. Jacqui entered Outworld with her team to thwart the efforts of Mileena, and intervene in Quan Chi's efforts to unleash the fallen Elder God - Shinnok! Forced to fight Kotal Kahn and his incursion, she confronted Ermac and Reptile. Jacqui was last seen fighting Quan Chi's revenants, free to reunite with her resurrected father as new hostilities grow.
