Second generation warriors in a Netherrealm War! Kitana is the daughter of Edenian Queen Sindel. Fighting to stop her resurrected mother and the invasion forces of Outworld, she lost her life - reborn by her mother's side as a revenant. Cassie Cage is the daughter of Sonya Blade. Fighting against her mother's wish, she confronts the invading forces of Netherrealm - enlisted under her mother's charge in the Special Forces. With the fate of the Earthrealm's spirit in the balance, Kitana & Cassie Cage do kombat! Choose your destiny! Round 2... FIGHT!
Cassie's individuality doesn't even come close. The bladed fans are one of the most iconic weapons in the MKU. Would even venture to say in all of the fighting game genre.

I went with Cassie. She feels fresh, unique and they wrote her really well. She has the potential to be the next big hero (if she's not already there) and while her move list isn't quite there yet, it shows some signs of promise.
I certainly couldn't fault anyone for voting Kitana, but I went with Cassie.
This beautiful sig was made by MINION.
Cassie to me is exactly what the next generation should be. I can defiantly tell her from the rest of the cast, even against Johnny who has a similar personality. However, her design is rather bland in the body suit and street clothes. I love playing as her. Even though she is a mixture of styles, she still feels completely different than them. All this topped off with the fact she looks to be this era's top hero, I have to go with her.
If I personally liked Kitana more, then it might have gone differently. I just feel meh about Kitana's appearance in this game, where as Cassie has had one of the best debuts ever.
Kitana is an amazing tragic character. Cassie Cage is a modern Miley Cyrus.
Kitana>>>>>>>>Mokrap>>>>>>>>Cassie
Even though I enjoy Kitana's gameplay I've found her to be rather bland personality wise. Cassie on the other hand has great gameplay AND personality, and just overall a fun character. I hope she gets some decent alts down the line.

I like what they did with Kitana, instead of being the damsel in distress princess like she usually was in the old timeline, she did have her moments though. But now she's the queen of hell, I mean is that cool or what? I've always wanted an evil Kitana. Her costumes were great for the most part, except for the Catwoman costume. It's also cool to see Liu Kang as the evil king instead of always the generic hero.
I like Cassie, I like that they have the "new generation" still defending Earth against the evil realms.
I chose Kitana though because I'm big on seniority.
Shao Kahn did nothing wrong
I like Kitana's primary costume and that is it. Playing as Kitana is like playing with one arm behind the back. She only has one overhead in her moveset, b2 and it does not lead into anything. She has no overheads in her comboes. The only other overhead is the glaive throw from the air in Mounrful which no one uses that since you lose the fan throw. If you want to win against Kitana just keep blocking low and punish. Rinse and repeat. She has such a difficult time opening up a character. Any player with a decent defense will easily beat you with any character. I never face Kitana online. Her acerbic and insolent attitude is annoying since she does nothing except get beat, ironically enough against Cassie.
Cassie is way better than Kitana in my opinion. Her variations are great and she has some cheap ways to get easy damage. I like Hollywood the best. Air Akimbo is way cooler than anything Kitana has got. I just wish they had gone with her original hair concept.
Easy choice. Cassie.

I agree that Kitana's gameplay is not as strong in MKX. Kitana lacks options to open other players up. Therefore, Kitana players must focus on zoning other players, especially those who like to rush you down with easy combos to execute but difficult to block.
However, with a lot of practice and patience, Kitana can be a formidable opponent. My main has always been Kitana in every MK game where she appeared, so I was not going to abandon the Princess. With all the practice I've had, I can easily dominate any character that doesn't have a teleport. Those with a teleport are more difficult to fight against but I can still take most opponents out.
Kitana could have easily been left out of MKX since her role in the story wasn't major. Fortunately, NRS are very smart and they know that they can't leave such an iconic and popular character out.
Kitana is a legend in Mortal Kombat, and Cassie is newbie. Of course Kitana gets my vote.
*Kitana vs Cassie; popular classic vs the new leader;
*Reptile vs Scorpion: popular classic ninjas (Scorpion being more popular but also more hated);
*Kung Lao vs Mileena: also popular classics, both looking better than ever and playing better than ever?
*Kotal Kahn vs Shao Kahn: new Kahn vs old Kahn (Shao doomed?)
*Sonya vs Erron: popular classic vs hot new face.
Then comes a one-match break in hype matches as far as I'm concerned (Skarlet v Noob Saiboit). Don't think this one will be close.
Then starts a new series of 4 matches I'm really looking forward to:
*Raiden vs Quan Chi: two powerhouses. Quan Chi's chances aren't looking good though as the fanbase seems to be tired of him and it seems MKX Raiden redeemed the character after the debacle in MK2011;
*Shinnok vs Johnny Cage: will Shinnok get his revenge for the chapter one of the story mode?
*Fujin vs Tanya: both were requested a lot for DLC characters, Fujin maybe even more. Tanya made it, Fujin did not (not yet, at least). Does being playable present a significant advantage for Tanya?
*Reiko vs Shang Tsung: Will Reiko's well-received role in the comics be enough to help him beat Shang? Or do the fans miss the old sorcerer too much?
Exciting!

But I really like her in MKX. Great fun to play, and great design (Jingu and her revenant skins are awesome). She didn't leave much of an impact in story mode but I'm really interested to see where she goes in the next game because of where she ended up.
Cassie did not impress me at all. Too much like Johnny and Sonya, who are superior characters. I don't like her personality, I don't like her design. Remove Cassie.
