Those who are criticizing other posters for not being happy about the end result need to shut the fuck up themselves. Instead it's this "Oh so salty blah blah blah" nonsense. Yeah, it's a popularity contest. But it doesn't mean the naysayers have no right to voice their opinion on it.

And yes, this was a shit sandwich right from the very first match. Glad it's over. It pains me to say that because I greatly enjoyed last year's edition.

-A character who is arguably the best representative of the 3D era, fully fleshed out and involved in scads of storylines, loses to MK's own Mr. Irrelevant, who hasn't been in a game in nearly ten years and has zero character development outside of being Raiden Lite. He doesn't even have his own character article on Wikipedia, if you want to take it even further.

-What were the equally useless Chameleon and Khameleon doing in the poll? There was no reason for them to be included.

-Lastly, let's be honest: for all the "NO NINJAS" bitching that goes on here every year, it was one reason Ermac was voted out, because he DIDN'T look like one, and after the complaining about his MKX storyline, stiffs like Smoke and Jade were advanced. The final straw was Stryker losing to the human wallpaper paste.

See you next year when MKO decides to vote Tanya into the top spot.

Ermac was trash in MKX, that's why he was voted off in the first round, and why you're so mad. Deal with it.

Just like with everything else, it's not the voicing of opinions that most people have a problem with. It's the excessive bitching crybaby nonsense and accusations made everytime someone brings up Fujin. There were some disagreements on this thread but not nearly to the extent of how ticked people got when Fujin started winning.

And before you say, "well Fujin fans said (insert.)" a majority of the ones I've seen are quiet and respectful untill some people have to go and make every other post, "Waaaaah I hate Fujin, your delusional! You only like Fujin cuz blah blah." So yes, some people are going to retort. If one can't present their opinion with dignity and respect they should not expect a dignified and repectful reply.

For four years results have been posted daily on the tournament's main post. Just gotta go to page 1 of this thread.

Some people take this stupid popularity contest too seriously. I bet there are people with a lot of dummy accounts just for these. For instance, why can't you see how many people voted? Because if you could, there would be massive complaining about why there are so many people voting compared to the number of people posting comments. What reinforces this belief even further is that when I made a vote, I was only changing like .2% at most.

-

In reality, most people that have played MK don't even know who Fujin is. He wasn't playable since MK4 and Armageddon, the later was in October of 2006, so why would people vote for basically a non-kombatant?

You say that people take this "stupid" popularity contest too seriously, yet, you seem to be QUITE angry about dummy accounts. I'm just stating the hypocrisy. I'm considering leaving the site for a year until this tournament shows up again.

There's always a mood going into each year. This year was intended to reflect the new game and comics. As happens within most long-life hardcore fandoms, it wound up being as much about what wasn't included in the new game, as what was. Is it objectively silly to crown Fujin champion ahead of other MKX characters, like Raiden? No doubt. Can MK be silly at the best of times? It has its moments. Is the decision grounded in the mood of 2015? It is. Will on-going support eventuate in DLC? Stay tuned. [If you've been administrator of any major MK outlet over the last 6 months - you've heard from Fujin fans. I know they're there. NRS knows]

We get a big turn out for the tournament each year. There are always the character-tragics, nostalgic holdouts, and a few topical organized movements who get the word out. As we've seen, those efforts can have a big impact, but the tournament is usually won with the swing vote. If you're whining - you probably aren't winning (in general).

The majority of voters browse and vote. The best fans share their thoughts, have some fun, and sometimes have something pretty interesting to say. It doesn't have to be elaborate to give someone something to think about - and that can swing the vote. It can also influence staff when it comes to preparing the next year. Everyone is MKO. Deal with it, bitches!

The annual tournament is a bit like the saga of the games themselves. A lot of influences impact the whole, and the story is always much bigger than just one character. Some rise, some fall. Disappearances occur, and rivalries form. To get the most out of the tournament - you've got to look at more than one thing! Tournament real talk incoming:

Three new names impacted the tournament Semi Finals, leading to a first-time Champion and first-time Runner-Up. Support for Fujin began last year, during the pre-game speculation phase, which took him to his best result and entered him into the Top 16 (seeded this year).

The hopes of 2014 also delivered fan favourite Ermac to his first championship. With MKX firmly in mind in 2015, he suffered a shock First Round defeat (helped along by a tough draw) -- the first champion/#1 ranked fighter to do so. He isn't the first champion to fall down the rankings, though. Before there was Fujin, Smoke earned a controversial win in 2013, before tumbling back down the ranks.

Not surprisingly, at the close of Season 2015, there's a new #1 ranked fighter (displacing Ermac). A major character has also dropped out of the Top 16 for the first time in four years. This accommodated a somewhat surprising new inclusion into the top 16. The remainder of the 16 has been pretty well shuffled. Only 2 characters are still where they started.

Cassie Cage was the biggest Supreme Rankings improver of 2015. She's up +14 ranks, boosted by her central role in MKX, which is a contrast to her debut last year at E3, when little was known. In contrast, D'Vorah fell -14 ranks, suffering from a particularly tough 2015 draw after being embraced on sight during last year's E3.

Kenshi & Mileena both made significant rankings gains, up +7 ranks. MK4 alum Fujin and Reiko both improved their station, up +5 ranks. On the flip side - there were some big falls! Kai plummeted -12 ranks after getting a swell of support during last year's MKX speculation. Worse still -- Drahmin's early admission to the deadpool doomed him to drop -14. Returning kurio Chameleon fell -13 ranks, having come into 2015 at a notably high ranking.

Daegon got off the bottom of the ranks, up +1 (despite an influx of new characters). The new basement dweller is Darrius (#74). The relegation era begun by MKX (and its new generation of fighters) made life tough for many characters who did not make this year's draw. Will they fare better next year? We'll be taking our cues from NetherRealm Studios and whatever else is topical in the moment, along with the usual tournament culture.

The relegation era also means more high class fighters clustered in the brackets. That meant hard battles from day 1 of 2015! Ermac was the biggest loss. The degree of defeat issued to Liu Kang was surprising in Round 1, only 28.4% against Raiden. Support for Rain also evaporated, flipping his 2014 result against Shao Kahn in favor of the dead Emperor. No love for Tremor - whose supporters went to ground with the character already locked in for DLC. Note: this was Tremor's second appearance in the Supreme Tournament. He lost to Jax in 2012 Round 1. In 2015, it was Jax who went out in the first round - a shocking loser at the hands of Sindel!

Every character has a tournament story. Who's next? Take advantage of the Fan Koliseum and get hardcore about debating specific character match-ups! You can do that any time of the year, about any combination of characters! To crown the champion, however, you'll have to be back next year when we ask the question eternal - who is the Supreme Mortal Kombat Champion?

Oh, my bad. Don't you usually make some kind of bigger announcement? I just kept seeing Kenshi and Fujin with neither grayed out, but I scrolled down and saw the results at the bottom.

I'm kind of shocked, but not really. Fujin fever is at an all-time high. The hype around the character, and the fervor generated around the fact that he isn't in MKX fueled his victory, IMO.

Face it - if Fujin DID make it into MKX, he wouldn't have made it past the first round, because no one would be hyped up about him. Kenshi making it to the finals, I think, was largely due to his popularity and appeal, especially when matched up against the other characters. Fujin...hype only.

Frankly I don't care about the results, I like both characters. Just kind of a "SMH" moment when a character wins solely based on hype.

Maybe NRS is listening. Maybe we'll get Fujin as DLC. LOL, I'm sorry I'm kidding of course. But still. It was an interesting poll this year.

Because this is the Mortal Kombat community. A community that obsesses over the things it doesn't have and bitches about everything that it does have.

^The comic book has gotten consistent praise, I've heard little to no complaints about offline gameplay machanics, and most people seem to love the krypt. It's mainly the story, netcode, and character roster people complain about plus each fan will dislike something that another fan will like. So I disagree.
