Motaro is awesome... Now, if he made a proper (4 legged) appearance and not just barely glossed over in the one game that pays tribute to the classics, maybe I would've voted for him.
I know it's probably difficult to program and animate a character like that in 3D, but dammit, that's a challenge you should've taken on, NRS, especially in a game where bosses are unplayable anyway.

My exact thoughts. It's unfortunate too because Motaro is the only character that I remember ever being scared of as a kid. Sheeva and Baraka were scary looking as well, but something about Motaro MK3 era was just plain freaky.

Armageddon also left a bad taste in my mouth. I'm glad they decided to include him over omitting him altogether, but anything I enjoyed about Motaro really wasn't in that game.

If I ever really thought that he had a chance to return as the four legged beast I remember him as I would've easily voted for him, but as it stands it seems he just doesn't have a future in the series unfortunately.

Motaro had a kick-ass design but the series really hasn't done him any favors beyond that. He was nowhere near as imposing as Goro and (especially) Kintaro and could be JKed to death in MK3, then he was turned to shit in MK Annihilation (but then again so was everyone), and finally the two-legged fiasco.

He's had it a bit rough.

Considering the existence of Amaterasu in Marvel vs Capcom 3, and Pikachu Super Smash Bros., it clearly isn't all that difficult for a quadruped to properly exist in a 3D fighting game.

It's just laziness on their part, as well as apathy.
