For me, number 3 is how surprised I was when Shang won against Jade.

My highlight had to be Fujin beating Kenshi. It was such a comeback, I never saw it coming.

Wow didn't know MKO was that full of Ermac fans. This is so one-sided it's not even funny.

Not sure if you don't like Ermac, or if it's just this match being one-sided.

I'm more baffled at how a nobody like Fujin was able to keep up more with Ermac than a far more established character like Shang today.

Yeah, I don't particularly get the Ermac fascination. The final is a real snooze. Sub-Zero deserves to win it again, though I guess. Ermac has about as much story relevance as Jade, which is funny because that's something a lot of people have been saying to justify voting out other characters.

But that's cool. May the best ninja win (ugh).

I remember SwingBatta particularly saying he voted for Shang because Jade is irrelevant storyline wise or something along those lines, yet he is one of the biggest Ermac sipporters in this thread.

Story relevance does not make up an entire character, the only time I use that argument is when I need to decide who to vote for, if I like/hate the characters equally.

Yeah, that's fine. You should totally vote for who you like. Just like I shouldn't have to vote for Ermac if I don't particularly care for him.

I say I'm a fan of Kung Lao and Tanya, people roll their eyes and say things like "they have no relevance storywise, they're one dimensional, they're a clone, etc." We should all be able to like who we like

I got a lot of love for Sub-Zero but damn Sub-Zero gets A LOT of love around here lol. Deservingly so though, can't disagree with awesomeness like that.

1. Agreed. And my previous reply to you was certainly not intended as a personal attack, a trap which I've tried my damnedest to avoid falling into over the course of this competition. At the risk of sounding corny, having favorite character(s) is what makes us all unique as MK fans. What fun would this experience be otherwise? No one's forcing anyone to vote for characters they don't like, yet it's boring to hear folks declaring for the tenth time why they're not voting for such-and-such, and people are going to react in the heat of the moment. I'm definitely guilty; not putting myself above reproach here.

2. But as for the "ninja thing," I'm long sick of it as the next person. It's such a huge topic of contention that's crossed over into borderline prejudice, simply because they had the misfortune of being palette swaps, which were created by Midway only to save on memory and production costs, nothing more. (The series' two most iconic characters falling into this category has only added fuel to the fire.)

I, as everyone here knows, am a huge mark for one of the "ninja" characters. It doesn't automatically mean that I'm on the bandwagon for the rest of them, however. I hardly care for the rest of them, but the bum rap they get on here is ridiculous while the "normal" characters are often treated like special snowflakes. And the condescension falls on both sides. This is my first time participating in this tournament, and while I've enjoyed it immensely, this character divide has also increased the tension tenfold that it becomes more of a political campaign than something intended to be just for kicks, which is unfortunate.

That's an interesting perspective on how you feel for liking Ermac. I wasn't aware it came from both ends. We all have the right to an opinion about a character one way or the other, and we just have to be tactful in how we express them. I apologize if you felt any of that was coming from me! While I don't care for most of the ninja characters, I most certainly don't hold it against anyone if they like them and take this whole thing very light heartedly. It's just a game guys, come on! lol

Well looks like Shang is finished. I'm going to place my support behind Ermac as the New Champion. It's been a crazy tournament this year and probably crazier the next year when MKX comes out

Hopefully at the end of the day Mr. Boon sees the support for Ermac and Shang and Kitana and Jade and takes it into consideration for MKX. I'm all about Ermac winning but if he doesn't he doesn't.

I don't know who to root for during the finals, because I like human Sub-Zero and Ermac almost equally. I'll probably wait for a day and vote for whoever's lagging. If a non-ninja had made it to the finals, maybe I would've been more interested.

Fujin making it to the quarter-final and Shang making it to the semis were the highlights of this tournament for me.
