What edition is everybody getting? For me, I'm getting the regular game and the Kollector's edition guide because the guide has all the collectible stuff I want like the bio cards and tournament strategy stuff and I just want the game, not much else, but I did preorder from Walmart with the classic Mileena costume, how about everyone else?

Here's a question for you:
What are you most thrilled about the new Mortal Kombat?
Is it a character? The gameplay? The story element? A certain mode?
To me, it's both the new gameplay style which is a perfect fit for Mortal Kombat in my opinion, AND the story element! Can't wait to play through Story Mode.
Oh, and of course, Jade... but that's the highlight of all the games she's in. ;)

The fact that it's so new, yet so familiar, nearly all the classic features we've been clamoring for years for are back and the team bent over backwards to make sure the fans got just about anything we could have asked for, as a fan when creators show their fans that type of service it really makes a great game perfect. I love all the characters from the original Trilogy, there's not a single one I dislike, but Stryker and Ermac are my absolute favorites.

Oh, many things. The change in gameplay is definitely high on the list. It's about time MK advanced in that department. Like you, I'm looking forward to the story mode, which seems to have a lot better writing and acting this time around. (So far there don't appear to be any scenes that make you cringe due to their cheesiness.)
In a general sense, what has made me the most excited is the feeling of nostalgia. The 2D plane, art style, characters, story, etc. bring back a lot of memories of playing MK in the arcades. Some of the recent games have strayed too far away from what the earlier games got right, IMO, so I'm glad to see that they're taking the best of the old and adding to it a lot of "new" features.

I agree. Since we've only played the demo and not the full game yet, one can't be totally sure, but I'm willing to bet that this will be considered by most to be the best MK yet. Perfect mix of the old and the new.

If i agree that being homosexual is just about having sex with people of your own sex. Of course, that is what homosexual means. it's a word to describe the people's sexual orentation, not to describe how they look, or act, or love. That is why we should have the same rights, because the only thing diferent betwen homosexual and heterosexual people is their sexual preferences. Luckily in my country we do. Edit: @ PorkandBeans Perhaps we should. I don't really think i'm wrong about that. I really never liked a lot of thing about the LGBT comunity and i don't feel like a part of it. So perhaps there is a lot more for a lot of other people. But the word has just one meaning.

Being gay is something you can't help, something you don't chose, it's who you are, it's the way you're born. Has this thread really gone on because it had ":gaymer" in it? It's not the gay gameplayer, but the gaymer... wow. I'm proud of who I am and everyone else should, whatever the way they're born. :)

Everyone in here should go and listen to Lady GaGa's Born This Way!
Because that's how it is to be gay. We are born this way. It's not a choice, no one can control who they fall in love with, get attracted to and such. A gay man can force himself to sleep with only girls, but it will be against his nature. Because that is exactly what homosexuality is - it's our nature! Homosexuality has ALWAYS been part of humanity, it's not something that suddenly appeared in the 60's as a trend or something like that. It's simply natural!
Being gay is not a choice - it's life.
Now shut up and talk about Mortal Kombat, damnit! That's why we're here!

About Me
Mortal Kombat is not about death, but rather, the preservation of life.

I'm a gaymer from London and my favourite character has always been Mileena, ever since MK2! Although, I kind of have a thing for all the Edenian females from Queen Sindel, Princess Kitana, Royal Guard Jade to Evil Clone Mileena and Traitor Tanya. My favourite guy is Sub-Zero, preferably the one from MK3 without the ninja suit, there's just something about the scar and his arms... a bit like Chris' arms in Resident Evil 5. Really interesting thread, I do think there's something to be said about the 'gaymer' and playing female characters, but saying that, the whole idea of male players controlling female avatars and vice versa is an interesting topic - similar studies have been made in film with the subjective POV and male gaze.

Have they ever had any Flawless victory special poses in any MK?
Be nice if they do in this one.

You mean a special winning pose when you get Flawless Victory, like they had in Street Fighter when getting perfect?
Nope, all characters have always only had one winning pose per game appearance. However, they have special winning poses after Fatalities. ^^
