I kind of like the whole "framing heyman" conspiracy going on. Let's hope this one pans out, unlike the whole Punk/Lauraitus thing that went nowhere.

Heck, you can even notice backstage politics in not having Kane participate in last year's Rumble, which would've been his 14th in a row, and having only two eliminations this year. It's clear they don't want him to beat Shawn Michael's mark, an insult to a solid worker, specially with his size, and who kept himself in good enough health to do 15 in a row.

They'll never have Kane beat Michael's total elimination record. Especially seeing as he's got that 11 eliminations in a Rumble record.

Rumor has it that Undertaker want to end his streak this year but wwe creative team want it to carry on so they don't agree on finish then Undertaker might not take part this year WM.

I don't know how I feel about this because rumor is still CM Punk vs Undertaker at WM so it could be good match who ever wins but I can understand why Undertaker wants to end streak.

got my summerslam 2010 and summerslam 2011 dvd today. watched summerslam 2010 today. tomorrow i'll watch summerslam 2011. got both dvds for $20.50 from amazon brand new. great price and was worth it.

my 3 fav matches of summerslam 2010 are.

team wwe vs the nexus
kane vs rey mysterio for the world titile.
randy orton vs sheamus for the wwe title.

the dvd lacked special features though. all it had was an interview for special features.

There's been a rumor for years that Takers wanted to end the streak, I take that with a grain of salt. It's his legacy why would he want that tarnished?

Latest I've read is that he might not even partake in Mania this year due to an injury

Thats why I think rumor of him want to end streak is true this time. He not the man he one was and all those injurys are catching up on him. I would be happy for him to stop wrestling or finish the WM streak because don't want see him turn into vegetable.

Because a good professional wrestler isn't a mark for himself like you're thinking Taker is. Wrestlers don't care about wins and losses and championship reigns half as much as fans think they do.

watched summerslam 2011. it lacked special features yet again. just an interview. my 3 fav matches are

Rey Mysterio,John Morrison,Kofi Kingston vs The Miz, R-Truth,Alberto Del Rio.

no holds barred match for the world title Christian vs Randy Orton.

undisputed wwe title John Cena vs CM Punk with HHH as special guest referee.

also i noticed summerslam recycling the same song at the title menu. bit lazy in my opinion.

Kind of bizarre since it's the first time it's been done, and we've been through bigger Wrestlemanias. Whatever, fine with me.

I think it's definitely odd it took this long. Obviously we don't want one subject dominating the forum (easy for a year-long serial to do), but it's always been more than a little inconsistent to cramp the entirety of combat sports into a single thread. We don't do it with any other subject; we're finally gonna ease out of doing it for wrestling.

This thread is still the superthread for TV and news.
If there's interest, we'll see if there is room for more branches after 'Mania. God knows if we can handle more than a couple aspects of Pokemon being discussed on MKO, we can damn sure handle some man-on-man violence.

Well I'd guess you would know, because you're a wrestler, but at the same time, how could something like that not mean a little something. I'm sure you're proud of your accomplishments, ie wins and losses

got my summerslam 2012 dvd yestereday and watched it today. it was not bad. the special features were lacking yet again. all it had was an interview. also they reused the same song at the title menu yet again. that's just lazy.

my 3 favorite matches are.

The Miz vs Rey Mysterio in a Singles match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship.

R-Truth and Kofi Kingston vs Prime Time Players (Titus O'Neil and Darren Young) in a Tag team match for the WWE Tag Team Championship.

Brock Lesnar (with Paul Heyman) vs Triple H in a No Disqualification, No Count-Out match.

You enjoyed this match? All it was is Lesnar spearing Triple H in the corner over and over again followed by about 1,573,942 Kimura Locks.

That's the thing. Neither of them are great in the ring. Since Lesnar returned (which was exciting until he came down the ramp and then it wore off and I remembered it was Lesnar) he has done a total of like 3 moves. Even less than Cena, and doing less than Cena takes some serious skill. He has his spears/rams, F5, and the Kimura Lock.

Triple H is no miracle in the ring either. The fact that both of them aren't fantastic just makes this match even sloppier. The Winner and Loser of the match doesn't really effect the match itself to me and this goes for most matches.

All the match did was waste one of Lesnar's match dates on his contract and waste another one since they are just building up to a rematch for Wrestlemania. There are much better routes they could have taken with Lesnar.

Number of moves doesn't make a good wrestler.

I would say it isn't the only thing that does, but it does. You're telling me that a wrestler (let's use Cena as an example) is a good wrestler when their matches are easily predictable due to the lack of moves that they can perform / will perform? I'm sorry but thinking that is just stupid. A match isn't entertaining when you know it will just consist of a Protoplex, 5-Knuckle Shuffle, and an AA/FU along with whatever the other guy can do. By that logic Orton has great matches every week because he can do a powerslam, a DDT, an RKO, and a really terrible looking Clothesline.

We've seen Lesnar do more in his first run in WWE. I enjoyed his Shooting Star press. Since he came back with this whole "UFC Ass Kicker" persona he hasn't used anything but the 3 moves listed above pretty much. It makes his matches boring. It makes his matches predictable. What's he going to do next? Oh look ANOTHER KIMURA LOCK. To say that is good wrestling is stupid.

And I don't want to hear "You aren't a wrestler so don't say they are bad because you couldn't do better" because it doesn't take a 5 star chef to taste a meal and say it sucks.
