I'm currently watching the CM Punk Documentary and this thing is pretty terrible so far. I'm about 52 minutes into it (somewhere around half way through) and things are just starting to get mildly interesting.

Even though I have heard from several places that Punk is an absolute Douche-bag in person (aside from the airport incidents involving him that were reported) I enjoy him on TV. The DVD did not impress me at all though. The highlight of the DVD was Joey Mercury's story about how Punk bought his house for him just so he could keep a roof over his head.
devilwithin The boy kicked out at the world. The world kicked back a lot fuckin' harder.

Really? I did enjoy the documentary (in fairness, I never seen other WWE documentary). Love seeing his early stuff before signing up to WWE I don't know if he jerk in real life or not but I try avoid hearing these stuff because can't judge someone until you meet them.

I caught the main event of Genesis last night, and it was a pretty good match. Jeff Hardy retaining was predictable, but then again what isn't predictable in TNA.

Now would be a perfect time for Hell No to drop the titles and go their separate ways, which means that they're going to win in a squash tonight.
Stupid WWE.

If Punk and Rock don't main event then I'll take Punk
If Punk and Rock do main event then I'll take The Rock
If Rock wins the title I'll take Ryback winning the Rumble

As terrible as it was watching Cena winning the rumble that was an awesome event! I loved the rumble, the main event was awesome, Jericho's return was insane live and The Rock is the champion in 2013. That's nuts

Sounds like it was a solid event. A vast improvement over 2012.
Wrestlemania XXIX thread. Lets try to avoid flooding the forum with wrestling topics, but give a subject as big as Mania the room it deserves. Discuss, enjoy, prosper.

While I am upset that the reports of Shelton and Carlito returning weren't true (it turns out that they were staying at the same hotel as the WWE talent but weren't in the event for whatever reason) I am pleased with the returns we saw. After Goldust got turned down time and time again for a Wrestlemania match with Cody, it was nice to see them go at it during the rumble. Jericho's return was unexpected and it seems he is going to be back regularly.
I actually fell asleep during Rock Vs Punk. Read the results online this morning and I can't say I am surprised or that I am pleased with the outcome.

Watched around a mates house. enjoyed it. Rumble was a bit shite though.
Did a drinking game through the rumble.
Pick 3 numbers
You take a shot when they come out.
When any of those 3 eliminate someone then you take a shot
I originally got Goldust, Tensai and Ryder. But because a few people had work in the morning they got to do nominations.
I got nominated for Ryback.
First time I cheered for a Cena win let me tell you.

It was a piece of shit!
The Royal Rumble had... three actual surprises, one which we didn't even see wrestle? In the companies' mind, Sin Cara and Mysterio were surprises... but really? Anyone surprised or missed the month they left? The cool spots are were by the usual suspects like Kingston and Bryan.
Everytime someone was thrown by the end became depressing. Sheamus twice in a row? He's not that big of a star, Ryback is green as fuck and Cena winning alienates pretty much the older audience. Yes, kids buy his stuff, but if their parents don't care for the show and don't take them, they won't.
The Rock is a part-timer, he will not be all the time on Raw and the idea of building future stars is completely thrown away to give AGAIN something that we've already seen.
Taker-Michels twice in a row, Taker-Preparation H twice in a row(thrice in total) and now Rock-Cena twice in a row. It's insulting.
Burying the longest champ with only a people's elbow after dominating and carying the match is just icying on the cake.

"Surprises" resulted in one of the worst Rumbles of all time, last year.
This was not the year to pack it full of pointless entrants. The variations year to year are one of the virtues of the annual match and this one looks like it delivered in a much needed way.
I can't fathom the lack of redundant entrants as a legitimate criticism. Ever -- but especially after last year. You usually only get a few. We got a few. Better still, of the few we got, a guy like Jericho. Who actually managed to sneak into a city without being spotted and splashed around the world via photoshop! A surprise with a legit shot at winning and contributing to the match in a meaningful way! Goldust is always welcome, great to get that Cody interaction (wouldn't mind seeing it finally happen this Mania -- or a Rhodes Scholars/Goldust & Booker T match). Bo Dallas adding a bit of flavour to the batch and repping the NXT extension. Godfather for your nostalgia.
Again, just cannot fathom criticizing the "lack" of surprises. You got three. Two of them were solid. The match was better balanced for it.

Let's say we tolerate the surprise entrants, the spots were few and by the usual people, it's not like the extra contestants for the wrestlers were used to give them any spotlight at all.
Heck, you can even notice backstage politics in not having Kane participate in last year's Rumble, which would've been his 14th in a row, and having only two eliminations this year. It's clear they don't want him to beat Shawn Michael's mark, an insult to a solid worker, specially with his size, and who kept himself in good enough health to do 15 in a row.
