Well, the big weekend is here(no matter how small it seems in comparison to years past). WRESTLEMANIA! I still have fond memories of going over to my grandfather's house where he ordered nearly every wrestling ppv available and watching it with him. So no matter how much the card sucks this year, i'm still pretty excited. Now, onto my predictions.
WWE Champion Triple H vs. Randy Orton- My money's on Mr. RKO walking out with the strap, en route to Triple H being traded back to Raw to continue the feud, and eventually end up with the title....again.
World Heavyweight Champion Edge vs. John Cena vs. Big Show- Edge and Cena are the favorites with the Big Show appearing to be nothing more than a mountain for the eventual winner to climb. I'm going with Edge for the win though. Although I wouldn't be suprised to see Cena walk out with the strap.
Intercontinental Champion JBL vs. Rey Mysterio- This match was obviously tossed together at the last minute to get both men on the show. They're building it as a way to get the I.C. title back to it's former glory, but let's be honest, are either men really capable of doing this. The Mysterio marks likely going to be mad at me for lumping him in with JBL as incapable of bringing a title back to it's former glory, but....that's just how I feel. I think JBL is gonna pull this out somehow.
Jeff Hardy vs. Matt Hardy- Jeff vs Matt, brother vs brother, extreme rules.....why can't I get past the notion that this would've been more entertaining if it were Jeff Hardy vs Christian. Anyway, I think Matt is gonna come out of this the winner in an increasingly futile attempt to make Matt Hardy stand out more.
WWE Tag Team Champions vs. World Tag Team Champions (The Miz and Morrison vs Carlito and Primo)- The WWE still has tag team champions!?!?! With the lack of spotlight tag teams have been getting lately, you'd think Eric Bischoff was in charge. Miz and Morrison win.
Shawn Michaels vs. Undertaker- THE MATCH at this years mania IMO. It doesn't get any better than what these two have been doing the past month. The build up for the match has been nothing short of stellar. Finally, The Undertaker actually LOOKS, like he won't make it out of mania with his streak in tact. I almost hate to see the build up end. But I know this match is gonna be a classic. Obviously The Undertaker is gonna win here. It wouldn't make much sence otherwise, but the ride getting to this conclusion will be well worth the wait.
Money in the Bank Ladder Match- I must echo Zent's sentiments about the MITB matches as of late. This match used to be stacked to the brim with legit contenders to any title they choose. Now, Mark Henry and Kane are involved....awesome. I hope in my heart that Christian will win this, and take his place on top in the WWE where he belongs. But with Vince's negative view of Captain Charisma, it doesn't look good. My heart is hoping Christian, my head says MVP.
25-Diva Battle Royal- I......DON'T......CARE.
Chris Jericho vs. WWE Legends- Chris Jericho....one of the hottest heels in the biz at this moment....is going to job for a bunch of older gentleman....tragic.

Basically in this case, all the Faces... which is by far the shittiest thing to have at a PPV. There's got to be at least two heels wining a match....
Well...
Edge vs Show vs Cena - I see Edge coming out of this match... Though I would like to see Show win it, just because watching him wear these belts around his waist makes me laugh so hard.
Jeff vs Matt - Matt, only because Jeff sucks and he's overrated.
MITB - Kofi, he should start rising from above and should start becoming more involve with title matches now.
HHH vs Orton - I wouldn't mind seeing Randy win this one. I'm not really into this story but I would bet my money on Orton winning.
HBK vs Taker - Ahhh... I know what's going to happen. They're building the story to where everyone is gonna think that Shawn is going to win becuase of all the blindshots he pulls off on Taker during the shows and then come to WM, he's going to take so much advantage during the entire match... draw some blood (I hope) and then out of nowhere Taker does the famous thing That Cena does in his matches and looks completely fine and overtakes Shawn's advantage and wins the match either by a chokeslam or a tombstone... whichever looks badass for an ending.
So definitely Taker.
The Divas... I don't watch that
Rey vs JBL - Meh, I don't care, I wasn't into this rivalry anyways.
And there's probably a match I'm missing oh well, my fingers hurt from typing.
WWE Championship Match
- Triple (c) vs. Randy Orton
Winner: Randy Orton
Confidence level: 70%
Orton takes this for one simple reason; Triple H's return to RAW. It's long been rumored that he'll be back on RAW this year, and I definitely agree with that. Maybe a McMahon will betray him? I'm not sure how it'll come about, but I can't see all of the McMahon family staying babyface for very long.
World Heavyweight Championship
Triple Threat Match
- Edge (c) vs. John Cena vs. Big Show
Winner: Big Show
Confidence level: 40%
This is my upset pick. I'm not real sure on this match either way. If what I wrote above is "given", then where does that leave this title? It needs to stay with Smackdown, and Cena isn't on Smackdown. I know this is a shot in the dark, but yeah.
Intercontinental Championship Match
- JBL (c) vs. Rey Mysterio
Winner: JBL
Confidence level: 55%
With Tazz's departure, it's only a matter of time before JBL is in the announcer chair. Since this will take place in Texas, JBL may be acting like a tweener in this situation. My scenario is JBL defeats Mysterio, retires as champion, and then gives the IC title to Mysterio afterward. I guess that's way out of JBL's character, but this is how I see it.
Brother vs. Brother
Extreme Rules Match
- Jeff Hardy vs. Matt Hardy
Winner: Jeff Hardy
Confidence level: 85%
No way will they put Matt over Jeff on this stage; no way.
Elimination-Style Match
Ric Flair will be in the corner of the Legends while Mickey Rourke will be sitting at ringside
- Chris Jericho vs. "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat, and Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka
Winner: Legends
Confidence level: 100%
Jericho starts out good, but as he tries to defeat the final legend, Flair and/or Rourke will get involved and cost him. Then all the legends and Rourke will take turns hitting signature moves on him, with Rourke getting in the last. This is the most predictable match on the card unfortunately; Jericho has zero chance of winning.
WWE & World Tag Team Championship Unification Match
- Carlito & Primo (c) vs. John Morrison & The Miz (c)
Winners: John Morrison & The Miz
Confidence level: 75%
There's one credible tag team in WWE right now, and it isn't the Colons.
The Streak On The Line
- Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels
Winner: Undertaker
Confidence level: 80%
While the Undertaker finally looks "vulnerable" in a Wrestlemania match, the way HBK embarrassed him through the last few weeks points to 'Taker finally getting his retribution against him in the match itself. If the build up hadn't been so one sided I'd be less convinced the streak stays alive. If Undertaker lost this match, he'd look utterly weak and pathetic.
Money in the Bank Ladder Match
- Shelton Benjamin vs. MVP vs. Christian vs. Mark Henry vs. Kane vs. CM Punk vs. Finlay vs. Kofi Kingston
Winner: MVP
Confidence level: 40%
Not as sure with MVP as I was a few weeks ago. For some reason I think CM Punk could repeat now, but I'm still sticking with MVP as my prediction. MVP, Punk, Christian and Kane are the only guys who have a chance in this match, the other 4 have virtually zero percent chance to win. I think it's really between MVP and Punk because of McMahon blocking Christian and Kane never winning squat when it really counts.
- Triple (c) vs. Randy Orton
Winner: Randy Orton
Confidence level: 70%
Orton takes this for one simple reason; Triple H's return to RAW. It's long been rumored that he'll be back on RAW this year, and I definitely agree with that. Maybe a McMahon will betray him? so the tag team unification match ends up being a dark match, but they decide that the IC title match was worth showing?
btw, CM Punk won the MITB match. Christian was so close though.

Well, off to a very boring start. Something told me that was going to happen though. Sorry, but I find Punk extremely boring. It's not really his fault as much as it is the writing staff and the management... he has so little character and personality, and I have no faith they're ever going to let him explore other avenues.
EDIT: lolz... wow my predictions were horribly bad. Wow, so many things they're let happening that I didn't think they would (not all of them good, mind you).

WOW I bow to Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker. They literally beat the living shit out of each other. Shawn kicked out of The Last Ride a HUGE Chokeslam and A Tombstone!! And Taker missing Shawn's Elbow Drop kicking out of 2 Sweet Chin Musics! They left it all on the table but in the end all bow to Undertakers
17-0
But I thought Shawn had the match! I fell off my couch me and my buds. That was an astounding match!
10/10 match!!

Didn't expect the tag to be a dark match.
I really don't care tho.
The money in the band had some good spots but was short didn't expect punk to win at all.
Miss Mania well yeah.....
The jericho vs legends
I enjoyed steamboat in the ring but hated that Jericho won and it was worse that Micky beat him when actual wrestlers couldn't that made no sense.
Matt and jeff was ok nothing really speaical.
Rey and JBL was a waste of everybodys time but glad JBL is gone.
Taker vs HBK where do I even begin that match was just fantastic so many great things and so glad taker one.
That match was a fun ride.
Cena vs Edge vs Big Show
I really didn't care about this match at all and Cena's entrance was just funny and horrible.
The last match I didn't care about either and expect better.

WOW....every single face in a title match came out a winner....lame.
I'm super pissed I didn't get to watch though(had to work). All the internet chatter says Taker/HBK stole the show, which is awesome.
CM Punk wins MITB for the second year straight...man, so is this they're way of apologizing about making him drop the strap without being beaten, or has their faith in him been restored somehow.
Nice to see Jericho didn't have to do the job....for the legends anyway(damn you Mickey Rourke!).
Overall, it looks like it was a very un-spectacular show...super jealous of those that got to see the HBK vs Taker match though.(hopes youtube comes through for him)

Agree with Crow on this one!
My picks were way off as well.
Anyway the Taker and HBK match was easily the best match iv seen in the past few years!!!
Bit saddened that the Tag team watch was a dark match.
the MIB was great i thought, Kofi did a fantastic job and is really entertaiing to watch.
I dont know about CM punk, again i agree with Crow - The guys boring.
After the Taker match everything else was sur.
HHH basically ended Orton, No run ins, No interfearence Yawn.
Same with Cena's match, it was boring as hell except for the double FU or attempted double FU.
Rey match ended quickly, but was pretty fun to watch.
JBL quitting? who cares?
Why was Rey rocking a dark knight joker mask? i understand its a tribute but its a bit late dont you think?
Santino Morella always gets a good laugh, and for what its worth the diva match was ok.
Kid rock was annoying as fu**!
Jericho got the win which im happy about, still would have been nice for Rourke to cop a slap or two,
Oh, and how good was Steamboat!
um i think thats all the matches.
oh wait, Matt Hardy winning was actually pretty good, Despite how unfit he is!

Something strange happened during the legends match. In the end, when it was Steamboat against Jericho, I expected Steamboat to just do terrible, but he was great! I was actually rooting for him to get the win. Yeah, pretty weird
btw, why was Roddy going nuts at the beginning of the match? Am I the only one that heard him tell Steamboat to "get the fuck out!"

Yeh i saw that too, he was dropping F bombs the whole match.
And yeh Steamboat was incredible (for an oldie)
I have to say though, the outcome of each match was unexpected.
incl the Taker match which during the match had me shitting my pants thinking Taker was going to lose, Even though the whole time i knew he would win.

don't know how you can say worst Mania you've ever seen Zent, considering there's been far worse ones the last few years!
any way, Taker/Micheals was MOTN! hats off to BOTH of them. they did a great job with this match, letting it go as long as it did.
glad Trips retained; would've liked to have seen Show win, and considering Edge is taking time off, kinda surprised so many of you are bitching cause he lost! would've liked to have seen Christian win MITB, but i'm glad Shelton didn't win! wanted the Legends to win, lol to Jericho, way to over-sell that punch from Rourke! that DBR was piss-poor, and why the fuck was it on and not the bloody Tag Title match, wtf WWE?
any way, unlike Zent thought, this wasn't the worst Mania ever, but it could've been way better

Agree, i was looking forward to the tag team match.
Why dont you like Shelton though? His flip of the ladder was insane!
I was actually rooting for him throughout the duration of the match.
It started with mewanting MVP or Christian to take the win, but after seeing Kofi and Shelton i would have gladly taken any one of the two.
How sick was Kofis vertical climb!
I'm not saying it's the worst ever because I haven't seen most Manias
But it is by far the worst I've personally ever seen. By far.
From botched spots to TNA-like booking, through a title match being removed from the card... This stinker had it all.
I personally really wanted to see the tag title match. It was one of the only matches I was really looking forward to see. I'm glad I didn't pay to see the PPV, because if I had I was pretty much getting robbed by the WWE.
If you announce a match on a fucking PAY PER VIEW, you need to deliver it. It's not rocket science.
Money in the Bank was easily the worst yet. The line up was bad enough, but CM Punk winning the briefcase again is just horrid. Why not MVP or Christian, guys who are actually hot and could use a break? CM Punk? Again? After that ridiculous title reign? The guy who lost to JBL two or three weeks ago, we're supposed to believe he's a legit world title contender? Please.
And the botches sucked too. Also, God damn it Shelton would you stop committing suicide?
I didn't mind the Rey vs JBL match gimmick where Rey won really quickly, but again this is a PPV and I was expecting a match. Still, it was well done enough that it's not a major point in the rant.
I liked the Hardyz, LOVED the finish. That twist of fate looked vicious as hell, and I'm glad Matt won, he certainly needed it more than Jeff. Somehow, the Hardyz match was probably the one with less botches (not counting the IC title ''match'' of course).
Divas Battle Royal was somehow less impressive than I expected, and more predictable as well. I really thought Trish was going to be there. Also, I'm pretty sure Gail eliminated herself accidentally, which is a god damn shame.
Hats off to Jericho and Steamboat. These two could've had a singles match on their own. Jericho was protected logically, something I didn't really expect so that was a pleasant surprise. Rourke angle totally sucked though. As much as I like him, that punch was pathetic.
The Triple threat title match was OK, but it felt so pointless. I didn't expect them to succeed in making Big Show vs Edge vs Cena a true mania match, and I was right. The atmosphere was about as electric as a rubber band on a stick. Dull and predictable.
Triple H vs Orton... What a shitfest. The idea of starting off with the finishers was pretty sweet, but it lead to nowhere so it fell flat. The rest of the match was just boring and standard for a regular show, and the finish was ridiculous. Triple H beating Orton in the main event did nothing for him, for the title or for the business. You can be damn sure this was Triple H politics all the fucking way. I'm not one to usually call this, as I don't feel it's as common as most people make it out to be, but this was no doubt the case.
Orton had momentum and it was swiftly killed off in this Backlash-like match. They didn't even try to book it as the top feud match. No interference despite the fact that Legacy and the McMahons are all involved in this? Ridiculous. Triple H practically beat Orton clean. What a joke.
Taker vs HBK was fantastic from the middle to the end. Unfortunately the start was a bit too standard in my opinion, since we're talking about a huge match. Regardless of that small nitpick though, it was fucking brutal. The false finishes were amazing, and I'm glad they don't do this more often so that finisher kick outs have more credibility when they do happen.
Taker's bump to the outside was scary as hell though. I wish it hadn't happened, it was absolutely vicious. Hard to believe Taker got up and did the rest of the match, it was one of the most horrible bumps I've ever seen.
Sweet finish even though they never fooled me (I didn't expect them too, anyway). It was easily match of the night, probably match of the year, and it absolutely SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE MAIN EVENT. The crowd didn't give two shits about the World title matches after HBK vs Taker.
Oh well. I seriously hope next year is better.
