That promo Steiner/Joe promo vid WAS awesome. I had a friend send me a txt last night telling me a I had to see this video package right now, and it was that. If there's one thing TNA do better than WWE, it's video packages.

lmofmmoafosaojororrflfoal @ Jarrett winning the belt again. Awesome. I love Jarrett, and I love the way everybody else hates him more and more with each title win.

Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)
I thought TNA's replacement for Zybysko was only going to be an on screen role, and not have anything to do with the direction of the product overall? I dunno. I hope i'm wrong though, because damn, that man has the best mind in the business following Paul Heyman, in my opinion. If anybody right now could make TNA a major player, it's him. And think of the promo's he could cut with the likes of Raven and James Mitchell! Fun times ahead.

Edit: Beat me to it Zentile. I don't actually know myself, but i'm assuming he doesn't until I hear otherwise.

Yep, that video package was totally awesome if you're talking about the one I posted. ''Who are YOU? Who are you in my world, Scott Steiner?'' . And it was badass how Steiner actually mentioned how he kicked Triple H's ass in his promo. I wonder if WWE can sue? ''You see that? That's a veign. Something you don't have, you little fat bastard!'' lmao. Come on guys, Steiner rocks.

We don't know for sure if he did in fact win the title, so don't get too ahead of yourself.

Yeah, his promo on Joe was awesome, didn't help him not get his ass whipped though! But I found allot of errors in his rant, like when he said he beat Goldber, Batista, and Cena. Now help me out, when did he ever "beat" Goldberg, and when did he ever fight Batista and Cena?

Scott Steiner defeated Goldberg on Pay Per View. Can't quite remember the name of the pay per view, but he did beat the shit out of Goldberg (with the help of Vince Russo and Midajah though). Bottom line, at the end of the match, Steiner was standing strong and Goldberg was knocked out, end of story. Also, i remember Steiner was wearing a mask during the match to protect his broken nose or something.

He defeated Batista on the RAW after the Royal Rumble when he had his world title match with Triple H. It was via DQ though when Randy Orton ran in. Still, Steiner was beating Batista during the match, with the ''shoulder tackle competitions'' big guys do with each other, and hitting Belly to Belly suplexes.

Cant quite see when he even fought Cena... wouldn't be surprised if it did actually happen in a house show during Steiner's last stint in the WWE... I do remember him beating up Randy Orton in a segment that wasn't a match. I think it was on his RAW debut or something. He military pressed Orton. I'm very curious about this Cena thing though. But hey, It's Scott Steiner. He could claim to having been the one to crucify Jesus and I wouldn't care.

Well, I have nothing to do tonight so I guess i'll watch raw. I like to eat while watching my wrastlin', so hopefully vince wont talk about his ass all night.

Everyone ready to see another Undertaker VS Kane match this Sunday at Vengence? Also, next Monday it's gonna be Edge VS John Cena for WWE Championship in a street fight. So looks like RVD is gonna lose to Edge this Sunday. How lame.

I saw the name Mike Sharpe on a sign on the ring. As in, "Iron" Mike Sharpe? Is that who trained you? Heh, pretty cool. I watched some of those clips - some of those guys look a little sloppy, but that's the beauty of indy wrestling! tongue
Anyway you seem to be pretty agile for a guy your size and most of your stuff looks pretty good.

I dunno, I guess you have to ask yourself if it's really worth it. I mean not to discourage you or anything, but I was hanging out with some indy wrestlers a couple of weeks ago having a few drinks, and being about as successful as they could be in their situation and being in the prime of their careers, even they still said they kind of regret getting into it because of the toll on their body's. But I dunno, those guys were pretty much full on strong style wrestlers, so maybe it's a bit different. I suppose as long as you get out when you know your body is giving way and rehab your injuries properly without trying to force yourself through all sorts of physical breakdowns, then I don't see why you shouldn't get back into it. Easier said than done, I suppose. But still, I say go for it if you can and it's not going to interfer with other aspects of your life too much.

On the other hand I also say that if you give it a real shot and don't achieve any real level of notoriety in your area/territory/region, then you should probably cut your losses and give it up before you work your bones into dust for nothing. But that's just me. Then again you did say you were your former promotions heavyweight champ, so clearly that's some acknowledgement for your efforts. I myself would probably set a goal based on that previous success and give it a really serious try for a couple years to see if I could make a name for myself. If that failed then i'd stick to announcing or something to save myself the arthritis and back problems later on. *shrug*

I was told to post in this thread, I figured it was geared towards TV but here goes, completely off topic of what everyone else might be talking about throughout the 8000 posts.

I was an indy wrestler and I have been thinking recently about getting back into the business. Heh, so many guys I have worked haven't had any training, and that bothered me a lot. I was trained by Iron Mike Sharpe in Asbury Park NJ, in what would have been considered an extremely underground operation. I joined when I was 16 years old, so he really didn't want to take me in, but once he saw me and my buddies work a little bit he said OK, and a lot of the other guys were impressed.

I actually developed a personal vendetta with Super Nova (Simon Dean to you new fellas) that lasted literally, YEARS. He didn't like me when he stopped by now and then at Iron Mike's and he told his brother about me, and that guy was the booker for NWA in New Jersey, taking every chance to keep me down, and putting me in bad matches/squash matches/veritable shoots.

I managed to stick around long enough to build some kind of generalized respect from the guys in the locker room, met/did shows with a lot of names in the process including Iron Mike Sharpe, Sid, Candido, Tammy, Backlund, Gillberg, The Dudleys, Raven, Richards, Dreemer, Taz, Bigelow, Luna, Pete Gas, the Headbangers, Valentine, Beefcake, Doink (Apollo), Crowbar and Ace (if you count their 30 second match), Meanie, Nova, Bagwell, Al Snow, Val Venis, Balls, King Kong Bundy, the Iron Shiek, Jim Cornette, John Tenta, Sabu, Typhoon, Sal Sincere, Volkoff, Tito Santana, The Pitbulls, Big Dick Dudley, The Public Enemy, Ryan Shamrock, Nicole Bass, Bilves Wesley, Lupus, 911, Dawn Marie, Kronus, The Wall etc... So many guys from that list have passed away.

I left NWA because of political reasons and just worked small feds here and there since 2000, then Donnie B stopped booking and head owner died, (neither liked me) so I went back to what was now called NWS because the head ref was a co-owner of the company, and packed his bags and left and wouldn't let them use NWA anymore, but the same treatment continued and I went back to my small companies. I couldn't believe that it was still going on, meanwhile, I see guys with no training, no gimmicks, people I knew personally who just can't work, getting pushes, good matches, etc, because they continued to sell tickets, which is what I was doing as a teenager and didn't want to do anymore.

All of this, plus physical strain (which for me has been absolutely nothing compared to a lot of guys I know) has made me lay off the whole thing for a while. I've been really lazy and just don't know if it's worth going back to but mostly in the sense, "would I be able to still provide entertainment" because I would do a match tomorrow just for the Hell of it, it became a hobby. The most important thing to me is if what I'm doing is entertaining. I love working heel, it's very easy, and I would really like to come up with some kind of good gimmick and break back in. A lot of the guys I know still do shows from time to time, but a group of us who were working together pretty much all stopped because the main company we all worked for vanished.

I've gotten probably everything I ever wanted out of wrestling except making it to ECW, which is what my dream was when I saw it in 1995 at 14 years old. Eddy Guerrero, Dean Malenko, and Chris Benoit were semi idols of mine, because they were relatively small (height and weight), and did the type of style I liked, a mix of speed, power, and tech. I'm still young (25), and can obviously still get back in shape if I focused, but I guess my main question is, would it be worth it to the people watching me, based on what you've seen, to continue, or are there too many guys like me that no one would really miss it?

My Big Bad Booty Daddy INVENTED the Frankensteiner. He did it off the top rope but it was mostly just regular frankensteiner or what they call the Hurracarana today. And yes, every night I wake up sweating, thinking only of the peaks.

By the way, kickass video Shock. I'm looking into becoming a wrestler too, though I haven't trained in a while because the group I trained with was full of shit and the only other available group is based in Algarve which is far away from Lisbon, where I live. They did a show there recently though, an actual paying show so the industry is finally beginning here in Portugal. Hopefully I'll be able to start working shows in a while.

BUT ANYWAYS, seriously great video Shock. If you get back into shape, so you can go back to using that japanese style of powerful moves combined with agility and high flying, I'm sure you'd do great in the indies. I'm a big fan of Indy wrestling and there's not alot of guys out there like you (though of course it's just relatively speaking. I've seen alot of people do what you do, just not all the time and in all the places). Maybe you could find work in Japan? Your style seems to fit them, you'd just have to get ''classier'' in terms of mat wrestling and learn some strikes.

Honestly? I would say that based on what I saw, people most likely wouldn't miss you, MK2KungBroken. But that isn't really relevant because it doesn't mean you aren't entertaining or should give it up by any means. It would definitely become worth it to the people watching you if you showed them something they hadn't seen before, or don't get to see often. There aren't necessarily too many guys like you, but there are WAY too many guys that just do the same stuff as everybody else all the time without pushing themselves.

I guess what i'm trying to say is that from my experience as a fan, any wrestler that really tries to be creative is more than worth watching, and for the duration of his time spent trying to entertain, I wouldn't want to be watching anybody else. Beit an original gimmick, crazy new move, fun interaction with the fans, etc - for that moment, the guy performing becomes the most awesome wrestler i've ever seen if i'm in attendance, regardless of who he is. I think as long as you can do something new now and again then people would love to see it and there'll always be a place for you in their minds.

Take Steve Corino for example: You probably know all this, but he had been doing his whole "hardcore" thing for a while and wrestling much the same week in week out and it was really starting to wear thin and get pretty stale. Not too many people cared for him. Then after ECW went belly-up he started getting booked pretty heavily on Japanese shows, in Zero1MAX and shit like that, and he picked up a lot of new stuff, and when people saw it they marked out, and by the time Corino brought it back to the US and started showing a little bit of it off on the US indy scene he had these legions of fans proclaiming him to be the greatest thing since sliced bread (dispite the fact that he was grossly out of shape and didn't have all that much of an interesting gimmick).

So i'd say yeah, continue with it, because it sounds like you really want to. Keep picking up new moves (or just rip some off from Nova - you know he does it to everybody else tongue), keep being creative, keep learning, and keep trying to entertain people. They'll acknowledge it and eventually latch on to you sooner or later.

I think they need to let it truly be ECW, and stop letting guys from other shows come on and fuck everything up. I want to see TRUE hardcore matches with TRUE ECW 'rebels,' as they call them on ecw.com, and now randy cocksucker and smedge.
