Let's make a compromise.

- NOT allowed to wrestle again, ever.

- IS allowed to wrestle again.

ps -

- Is never allowed to play with his shirt off again.

LMMFAO!! 'rolls on the floor' hahahaha! I like that post! One of the best ever!

I, like many before me, prefer the old Sting as oppossed to the "crow" Sting.

BTW, I never knew that Steve Borden owns the name "Sting" and not the singer Sting. Kinda weird, so maybe one can sue the other for gimmik infringement! grin tongue

I feel it's only fair to post in your thread MKgeek, since you always post in my Smallville.

Since you're a big time wrestling fan, i have a question for you or anyone thats obsessed with it.

Is hulk hogan good again now, because wasn't he good then bad, now good again, i'm not too sure, so thats why i'm asking man.

Also, The Rock does he still wrestle? And is he good or bad?

Hogan is a "Babyface" now, meaning he's a "good guy".
The Rock isn't wrestling anymore because he's into acting but he said he's heart is still in the ring. The last time he appeared on WWE TV he was also a "Babyface".

When you say "good" or "bad" I am guessing you mean "face" or "heel." Hulkster is good/face. Rock's contract expired and was not renewed by WWE. Yeah, wtf, I know. He's making movies. I haven't heard anything about him coming back, but I don't lurk rumor boards anymore, so if someone has insight, please share.

If I recall my news, though, Rock left kinda pissed at WWE. He put in a lot of time and always had a good word to say about the company, then they didn't renew his contract and just let him go. Again, if someone has more info, let me know. Rock left good/face.

Speaking of dudes leaving, WTF is up with Lesnar? Anywho....

I kind of enjoyed SD tonight, though storylines kinda blew, but what do you expect with SD? lol. I like Kenny the more I see him. He and Rey Rey put on a nice little show. That Bobby guy looks sharp, too. Anyone have info on him? Has he been on Velocity or anything? Seams kind of like WWE's answere to Montey Brown.

Yah I was kinda impressed with that Bobby guy too... he sorta reminded me of Lesnar bouncing around the ring the way he was. Love the finishing move too...devastator I think it's called. Either way cool.

Comments on Kenny...um... don't really like his gimmick but he has some pro wrestling skills. That back breaker he did to Rey was painful looking and his finisher is kinda cool as well. If I can get past his dumb gimmick I think I will be able to enjoy him more.

Also, what's with LoD fighting losers all the time? They are the Tag Team Champs and they are constantly fighting no namers. sleep

It's got to do with the way the LOD was in the past, powerful and unstopable, crushing all who stood in their way, only now in WWE, cause their tag divsion sucks, the "new LOD" crushes jobbers all the time.

Mr. Kennedy reminds me of the 'Matt Damon' character in "Team America World Police" in that all he says is his own name! tongue

This Bobby guy looks alot like Monty Brown, I had to look twice at him to be sure if it was or wasn't in fact Monty Brown.

I saw Bobby when I was at smackdown a couple months ago. Last night on smackdown he didn't seem as impressive as everyone is making him out to be. But I know that he can wrestle just by hearing all of his accomplishments. Im looking forward to actually see him show his skills.

So what the fuck? WWE actually wern't swerving us on their site, they were actually telling the truth. Isn't that one of the signs of the apocalypse?confused
(Something else that might interest you, if you didn't already know is that Tito Ortiz should be returning to TNA).

Also, you all probably knew, but Hassan has finally been released from WWE (and he apparently wants to try his hand in Hollywood, and in real estate - dude's got a strange combination of interests, heh.)
Davari is still with WWE though, thankfully, and retains the "Davari" name and character.

Anyway, I have to say it again. Kennedy rules. He cracks me up, plus he's a fairly good wrestler. He's got world championship potential, methinks.

No way man, Kennedy is US title potential.

As for Lesner, he made a big mistake in not taking the offer from WWE to return. Vince just doen't hand out returns like the icecream man hands out cones. If you fall out of Vince's good graces, you've got to earn your way back into those good graces. Sucks that he chose Japan, I'd love to see him win his first IWGP title, one of, if not the most prestigious title in Japan, but there's no access to that in Canada, and I ain't about to scour the undergound for tapes either.

And as for Hassan, good ridance, and don't let the door hit ya in the ass on the way out, and I'll be sure not to watch any of his movies.

Kennedy....

lol, yah, he's funny as hell. Hope he doesn't burn out the gimmick, though. I agree that hassan had great mic skills, though, I never really cared for his ring ability; davari could work the ropes, though. I look forward to seeing him more, if WWE so chooses to. Hassan was doomed from the beginning. It's not really his fault. WWE is uber tactless.

Hey people....I went to this Indy show last saturday....and here are the results of the show. The organization is called UXW, a local NY company, they have mad talent though.

Every Victim Counts
September 24, 2005
Skate Safe America - Old Bethpage, New York

1) In a Guap N’ Pop Open Challenge, Guap N’ Pop w/ AYM defeated Jim Paine and Original Synn

2) Monsta Mack vs. Havok went to a Double Disqualification. Bison Bravado interfered, attacking both men.

3) “The Future” Frankie Kazarian defeated “Primetime” Elix Skipper to win the UXW Xtreme Championship

4) The New Dynamite Kid defeated Heavy Metal, Greatness, Candy and Mercenary in a 5-Way Hardcore Elimination Match for the vacated Hardcore Championship

5) TEST defeated Slyck Wagner Brown

6) The Backseat Boyz defeated The Outcast Killaz to win the vacated UXW Tag Team Championship in a 3-Team Elimination Match that also included All Money is Legal

7) “The Notorious 187” Homicide defeated “The Man Beast” Rhino to become the ..1 Contender to the UXW Heavyweight Championship

8) “The Shooter” Vordell Walker defeated Reefer in a match to determine a ..1 Contender to the UXW United States Championship

9) The New Age Outlaws (“Badd Ass” Billy Gunn and “Roaddogg” Jesse James) defeated The Christopher Street Connection

10) “Low Life” Louie Ramos wrestled Bison Bravado to a No Contest

11) Steve Corino w/ Ricky Landell defeated Balls Mahoney in a Last Man Standing Match to win the UXW Heavyweight Championship (Corino’s AWA Championship was on the line as well)

Homicide came out and said that he would not let Corino trash the UXW title and said since he won the ..1 contendership earlier, he wanted his title shot now....

12) “The Notorious 187” Homicide defeated Steve Corino to win the UXW Heavyweight Championship

Prior to the main show, a special Xtreme TV Internet TV Taping took place. The results are as follows:

1) “Sugar” Sean Sanchez defeated HSK

2) Mike Tytan defeated Joey Image

3) Heavy Metal defeated “Hardrock” Ken Sweeney w/ Mr. Big
- Following the match, Balls Mahoney ran in and threw fire at Sweeney.

4) In a 6-Man Tag Team Match, The Renegades 2k5 (Mythril, JM, and JDK) defeated “Iron” Ron Sampson, Chris Danger, and Tokyo Ninja

5) Jimmy Hustler defeated Danny Demanto

6) Ricky Landell defeated Jim Paine

* JBR (Billy Reil playing the role of JBL) along with OrlandLO (Tony Lo) called out The Blue Meanie and instead got Blue Candy and this lead to an inpromptu beat down.

Wow, that indy show had quite a card. Looks like a good show.

Some news in Tito Ortiz. On Sept 19th he recieved a six fight contract from Pride, or so the administrator of his website states. He has yet to sign it and no other word is out, I believe.

If he signs this I wonder how it will affect his TNA shit. I thought word was going around that he would sign full time, but bleh. It would be fun to see him in pride, though. Those japanese fans would go crazy for him, lol.

SmackDown vs. RAW 2006: The Season Mode

After hearing it from players and critics alike last year, THQ wanted to ensure that WWE SmackDown! vs. RAW 2006 had the best season mode ever available to wrestling fans. The 2004 version of that feature, after all, suffered from a myriad of different problems (including poorly-recorded voice acting and rather generic storylines) and just about every other sports game on the market eclipsed it in terms of options, unlockables, and things to do. But based on what I've seen of SmackDown vs. RAW 2006, so far, the game's apparently permanent status as a season mode underperformer isn't looking quite so permanent anymore.

You see, in the newest iteration of WWE SmackDown vs. RAW, THQ has gone back to the drawing board and revamped two main areas of the Season feature to make it more like real WWE programming. As basic an improvements these two fixes may sound (Presentation and Gameplay flow, more specifically), I can tell you first hand that it makes an enormous difference in how the season plays out already... and I'm only one month into it.
To start, there are more than 100 different completely motion-captured cinematic cutscenes ranging from two to six minutes in length. Likewise, there are double the amount of cutscenes compared to 2004 and players no longer need to press the X button to move on to the next scene (now, the storytelling happens in real time). The voice-acting used to convey these stories is much, much better when compared to last year too, and the wrestlers finally sound like they're speaking with emotion and conviction and boast realistic lip synching at every turn.

And speaking of, well... speaking, created superstars now have voices too. In fact, there's no longer onscreen text used during the season mode unless players turn on the optional feature in the menu screen. Instead, gamers can now select from among five different voice types to represent their characters between matches, or select from any existing superstar on the roster and listen to them instead.

Of course, the big news is that some of (but not all) the legends also have voice-overs included with their personas and can be used during a regular season just like the normal guys (the basic rule of thumb is that if he has a voice, he can be used during a season). What's more, there is also legend-specific storylines into addition to superstar-particular plots to go along with them. This means that if you choose the Undertaker or Triple H, you're going to run into situations that you wouldn't otherwise see with anyone else. Every WWE superstar will act and behave in a manner that mirrors their real life personality too, and regardless of whom you choose every last character in the season mode will speak.

On the downside, the two-player simultaneous season from SmackDown 2 on the first PlayStation still hasn't been brought back for SmackDown vs. RAW 2006 -- and while women can defend their titles in exhibition matches, they can't be used for season mode either. The good news is that the storylines themselves are pretty interesting, and can boast as many as 10 scenes in a single arc before players move on to the next feud. It's also worth noting that seasons are now two years long instead of one (one each for SmackDown and RAW), and there's even an ECW storyline thrown in for good measure.

When combining both seasons together, players can expect more than 70 different wrestling matches and around 15-16 hours of gameplay if they manage to go through the typical path. Surprisingly, THQ tells us that SmackDown vs. RAW isn't going to allow players to switch shows mid-season this year, and that any cross-promotional stuff only happens as a result of the storyline. Needless to say, moving from SmackDown to RAW and vice-versa won't be voluntary, but your ultimate goal is still to capture all the belts from both shows.

To pull off such a feat, players have a whole boatload of challenges and choices at their disposal. While the storyline itself isn't overly branching, users will have the opportunity to select who they want to fight, what kind of matches they want, and who they want to align with in certain situations (via multiple choice). As an added bonus, players can also earn trophies for successfully completing specific tasks (with prizes for being a legend killer, winning the Royal Rumble, doing well in Bar Room Brawls, etc), earn alternate costumes because of those trophies, and unlock a new legend for beating the storyline mode for each show.

There's still a lot about the season mode of SmackDown vs. RAW 2006 that we don't know (like the extent of the character-specific storylines and how many multiple endings there are), but those are revelations probably best left for you. Even so, we've put together a special treat for wrestling fans curious about how the new season works. Linked below is a snippet from the very first storyline in the game when using Randy Orton. It'll give you a good idea of how things go over the course of a feud and show you just how much things have been improved.
