I'm kinda pissed off too...he has decent wrestling ability and had pro mic skills. I never did really like his character but I hate to see him go like this...I hope they give him a new persona or something...

I have always been a fan of Rob Conway. I like his new gimmick. Plus he's hotter. (Damn it I think he might be gay)

But where is Sylvain Greiner (If that is how you spell his name I always get it confused) did he get fired too? It is sad that Earl Hebner got fired.

I never liked the Muhammed Hussain gimmick. It's racist and one viewed. Why does the WWE treat other women and other countries like shit. And I though Rene Dupree was having a gimmick change as well. furious

I'm glad they dropped Hassan's gimmick. It was stupid. Don't get me wrong, I like Hassan's inring work and I think he's got some great mike chops (in fact he and Shelton are my top two future big hitters). But I was really dreading to see what the writers had him doing next. I was sick of the "USA" chants (which made me feel that all wrestling fans are painted as stupid immature biggots). I was sick of the "terrorist" bullshit. I say let the man do his own thing. Gimmicks are retarded for the most part, especially these days. Lets go down the list shall we:

Carlito: One of the only gimmicks I like. He's cool.....No pun intended.....Well maybe a little.

Mexicools: Take 3 talented luchadors who are showing promise and then strip them of their dignity buy giving them the stereotypical "garders" gimmick.

Kane: Ok just stop it already. You're not the big red monster. Infact the day you opened you're mouth you're gimmick began to fail. Now you're just a pasty, goofy looking bald guy with a gap between your teeth.....BTW are you still "Taker's brother" or was that whole bs storyline finally thown out the window?

The Underbiker: Ok for nastalga sake you go back to the deadman gimmick. But you don't go the full 9 yards and still come out with the biker attire. Ohh and wrestling fans get it that you just don't sell. Like Kane, you're not the "monster" you used to be. But we'll still cheer because you've got more character than Kane.

Hurricane and Rosy: It was a sad day when Shane Helms went from being the next Nova to a superhero gimmick all because he has a green lantern tattoo.

BWO: Yet more gimmicks I actually like. It's nice to see Nova use the name Nova...Which leads me to....

Simon Dean: Ok WTF. You take the most innovative man in wrestling history and turn him into Tony Little. Seriously, that's why he had the monicker "Innovator of Offence" because everyone ripped him off, whether it be Edge, Kanyon, etc. I'm sorry Nova. I really am.

Tazz: Joey Styles said it best at One Night Stand. "It's Taz with one Z!" God Taz, what happened? You went from being the "Baddest motherfucker on the plantet"(his own words) to a goofy sidekick to Micheal Cole. I know he's a nice guy backstage, but why does he have to be goofy?!? I'm sorry Taz. I really am.

The Boogeyman: ... ......... .................................... ............................NEXT!!!

John Cena: Words cannot begin to describe my hatred for John Cena. He can't wrestle, he has absolutely no charisma (his promos are boring to anyone who doesn't care for rap). Let's be real here. He only has the belt because "rap" is the in thing. His whole gimmick overflows with mainstream hip-hop bullshit. On top of it all he raps like he wrestles:In slow motion. I'm not even going to have to mention how I feel about that god damn pice of shit he calls his world title.................

JBL: IRS did it better. Plus that was back in 1994. it's 2005. The asshole investor gimmick died a long, long, long time ago.

Seriously, McMahon is extremly out of touch with the fans. It's like he's basing everything off MTV and Fox News Network. It's not about wrestling anymore. It's about $$$......These are the days when I miss ECW the most.

Sylvain Greiner is on Smackdown!

It's not WWE's fault that they had to drop the Muhammed Hassan gimmick. The terrorist angle was taped 2 days before the bombings in London(I think it was London)

Well I suppose that character could hurt a few sensibilities after the London bombings but it's really the usual hipocrisy we're used to. It didn't seem to hurt any feelings when some Palestine bomber blows up a few kids in an Israeli school bus. And vice-versa.

Anyway, away from the political talk. I've always liked Conway, I think the guy can actually go far. Cena isn't my thing really, never liked him. His gimmick just sucks and his promos aren't half as good as people put it, even Randy Orton is better on the mic. And it's kind of frustating seeing Cena as a World Champions and guys like Christian never seem to get the chance even though they're a million times better in and off the ring.

Wow, over 5000 posts! This must be a record for mk online! Thanks to everyone who has helped make this thread so popular.

** Ivory to be Released from the WWE: From WWE.com:
Ivory\'s Tv contract will not be renewed and her last appearance will be on the WWE Experience this weekend(7-23-7-24). We wish her the best and look forward to possibly working with her in the future.

** WWE.com addressed the reports of UPN nixing the Hassan character in an update this evening:

“Due to the unfortunate terrorist attacks in London on Thursday, July 7, which coincided with our pre-produced WWE SmackDown! program, UPN has asked us to be sensitive to the usage of the Arab-American character, Muhammad Hassan. We have agreed with UPN, and have not had the character on SmackDown! since that date. It is uncertain as to whether or not the WWE will continue with this character beyond this Sunday’s Pay-Per-View, The Great American Bash.”

Backstage Reaction With The Muhammad Hassan Character:
* Alot of people are a bit surprised that WWE posted a statement regarding the Muhammad Hassan character on WWE.com before the match this weekend at the Great American Bash. It appears that Vince McMahon has really caved in on this battle, because by posting the message they did, it all but gives away the ending to the number #1 contender's match at Great American Bash. There are people who assumed they would wait until after the PPV before doing anything regarding Hassan.

There are many who believe Hassan will be sent down to OVW after this weekend and be repackaged before re-appearing back on Smackdown.

** TNA iMPACT! TO TELECAST ON SPIKE TV

New York, NY (July 21, 2005) - TNA Entertainment, LLC has signed a deal with Spike TV to telecast TNA (Total Nonstop Action) Wrestling's weekly action athletic entertainment series "iMPACT!" The weekly one-hour show will join Spike TV's popular "Slammin' Saturday Night" programming block starting this Fall, taping at Soundstage 21 at Universal Studios in Orlando, FL.

Predictions for the GAB tomorrow:
1) World Title Match: Batista all the way! If he loses to JBL of all people, after kicking Triple H's ass three times in a row, then the WWE has no faith in it's world champs

2) US Title Match: Going with Benoit, this is only only title he hasn't gotten
yet since being in the WWE

3) Tag Title Match: Heidenreich and Animal baby! OH WHAT A RUSH!! Animal's like what..., 100th tag title?

4) Bra/Panties Match: Holy Mother of God does anyone acutally care about this filler match?? When is WWE going to realize the Cruiserweights are still around and give us a fukcing Cruiserweight title match on a ppv instead of pointless Diva match after pointless Diva match?

5) Eddie Guerrero vs. Rey Mysterio. If Eddie wins, he will tell Rey's "secret". If he loses, he will never reveal it:
Well, I'm not sure on this one, Rey has won every match so far, but it would make the story more "interesting" so to speak, if Eddie won.

6) Number One Contender Match The Undertaker vs. Muhammad Hassan:
Well, I think it's as obvious as the nose on my face, who'll win this one! Duh, maybe Muhammad?! grin

7) Booker T vs. Christian: Both good, but I gotta go with the Booker Man!

8) The Mexicools vs. The BWO: BWO Brother!

Wow I had a great day today, went to another signing at WWE Niagara for Christian,Booker T and Rey Mysterio...I got more than I thought.

Apparently they had a suprise set...the world heavyweight champion Batista!

I had a great time,I stood in like for a few hours and got my Batista shirt and Christian shirt signed, both were nice guys, got a picture with both of them also. When I got a picture of me and Batista he just went from smile to this serious face at the camera lol.Im there smiling like crazy and hes just like 'What the hell are you looking at?' lol, good stuff.

Then I waited for a while and got back in line for Booker and Rey,Booker came out and threw out a plush doll into the crowd, damn guy a few feet away from me got it.I got my Mysterio DVD signed along with a smackdown magazine and got Booker to sign a thing they hand out.Got a picture with these two too.Rey had like his whole family there with him, including Dominik lol,hes accidently in one of my pictures.

So now ive got like 7 autographs, starting a collection.Had a great time though.

And one more thing, did anyone else notice that wrestling fans fucking rule? I seriously talk to people for 1 or 2 hours everytime im at an autograph signing, hell if im walking down the street with a Rey Mysterio shirt people will start talking to me.Wrestling fans rule.

Lately I've been busy on Thursday nights, so I've had to DVR Smackdown. I just got around to watching this past Tursday's Smackdown and I spoted something that no one brought up. Heidenreich and Animal squashed Nick Berk (donno who he is) and Julio Dinero......When did Julio Dinero sign to WWE?!?!? How long ago did he leave TNA?? I just want to know because I make it a habbit to stay on top of former ECW guys.

Ok a few things here:

1. Zentile..You rule dude. Keep the video's coming, PLEASE.

2. Rabid...You also rule. I'd love to meet some of the guys you mentioned. That had to be a kick ass experience. Should you ever meet Stacy, give her this: 412-241-41....hmm maybe I should email that to her myself..tongue Seriously though, good shit man.

3. Great American Bash:

Why oh why is the still living Road Warrior back? Oh, to sell dvd's. Ok. Why oh why did he win the belt with Heidenreich tonight though? sad This has to be the worst tag team division in years.

W00t for Booker T getting a much deserved PPV win, even though it was at the hands of our favorite, Christian. Two really great guys, both deserving of a nice push.

Undertaker putting Hassan through the ramp?? I must see this. Also, no Orton, and Hassan takes the death bump, perhaps they will just shelve this character (Hassan) for awhile.

Orlando Jordan beats Benoit...wow...I didn't get the PPV, so I'll wait for one of you guys to tell me if the match ruled or sucked. Sounds like it was great though.

Rey Mysterio beating Eddie, good shit, as Rey-Rey is the man, however now they will just drag out this angle until Summerslam? sad

Torrie vs Melina w/Candice as ref - Yay for Torrie winning, bigger yay for seeing Melina and Candice in their bra's/panties. There is no real loser in these matches, ever.

JBL beats Batista via DQ, so Batista keeps the belt but loses his first SD! match. Are they going to drag out this angle as well now? Batista vs Understaker at SS should be a good one though. Who is the crowd going to favor?

I also caught the Paul London vs Nunzio (i think) match on Heat, DAMN Paul London got skills. How was he not on the PPV itself? Very impressive Heat match, very impressive.

So what did you guys think of the Great American bash?

MNM vs Animal/Heidenrich: Okay.
Benoit vs Jordan: Benoit should have won that one. I hate Jordan.
Muhammed vs Undertaker: Good but quick.
BWO vs Mexcools: They shouldn't belong in the WWE. Crap match anyway.
Eddie vs Rey: I'm sick of this matchup. End the feud now!
Torrie vs Melina: Boring and pointless. Good thing Melina won though.
Batista vs JBL: Must JBL always win!

I think I forgot a match can't think of it now....

For the GAB I was really disappointed in Christian losing, they keep building this guy up then pushing him down again, they cant deny us peeps forever!

Booker is on a roll lately though,he beat Angle a couple months ago,now Christian,I can see him getting a title shot in the coming months.

Hassan being killed off =/ im not too happy about it now thats it happened, he might come back once WWE goes to a new network, but im hoping he comes back as a different character.

It just hit me why JBL won by DQ.They were forced to have taker win the No. 1 contenders spot which im guessing wasnt originally planned,so at Summerslam they would have a face vs face match,Batista vs Taker. BUT now with JBL winning by DQ,you just know hes gonna bitch until he gets a shot too, which my guess is will be at Summerslam, making the match a triple threat. Batista vs Undertaker vs JBL....

For people who watched GAB,when Taker gave Hassan the last ride, was there any type of protection for Hassan to land on,or did he go straight to the concrete? I noticed in a picture on wwe.com it shows Hassan laying on there bare ground.

Obviously they had him land on some kind or padding, then, while the cameras were still on Taker, the WWE crew makes their move to make it look like he hit the concrete. We know they ain't going to really "kill" the guy!

I thought it was ok, not great, but like my friend said last night, all the WWE GABs have sucked! Smackdown ppvs generally suck anyway! Vengeance was by far better.

A few notes:
* Benoit got screwed!! The WWE should not have put that asshole, no good, pretending to be a wrestler, Orlando Jordon over! It just goes to show how shafted Benoit got when he was traded back to SD! He won the World title on Raw, and after losing it, still got a good run, then he gets traded back to SD, and gets shit on

* Good ridance to Hassan, that character will not be missed!

* I won't know who to cheer for when Batista takes on Taker, but since it's been long rumored that this could be Taker's last run, I hope he gets the title, he deserves one last hurrah!

* JBL still sucks, and I would have loved to have seen Batista win with the Batista bomb, but that filthy piece of black trash (I'm only racist towards him!) Orlando Jordon stuck his nose into things, cause we all know he's JBL's bitch, and JBL can't win a fuking match without him!

* Despite how some fell about Christian, Booker T deserved to win more than him! Christian has gotten allot more than Booker T in the last few months so I think Booker T needs a push

* Good for Heidenreich and Animal!! I don't like MNM, even if they are the only viable tag team left in the WWE, but as a good tribute to Hawk, I think they deserved to win last night, even if they do lose the titles either this Thursday, or at Summerslam

Wrestling Weekly featuring Doc Young and Les Thatcher began the show Sunday, July 24 by talking with Greg Oliver and Steven Johnson, authors of the new 300-page wrestling book about the greatest tag teams of all time, The Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame: The Tag Teams. And also appearing as their special guest, William Alvin Moody, best known as Paul Bearer, talked about his rise in the wrestling world as he went from real-life licensed mortician to the man behind WWE’s the Undertaker.

The Tag Teams was conceived by the man behind the Slam! Wrestling Website, the Canadian Wrestling Report newsletter, and another wrestling book, The Canadians. Greg decided to create a tag team of his own for ECW Press when he partnered with writer Steven Johnson to spend hundreds of hours interviewing well-known wrestlers, promoters, managers, and fans to create a definitive book compiling the top 20 best pro wrestling tag teams of all time.

Steven began the interview by talking about the difficulties they faced in tracking down some of the targeted wrestlers after all these years. Many of the wrestlers honored in the book had wrestled as far back as the 1950s, so a lot of detective work was required to get the information they needed. They often they relied on “cold calls” to find some of them, calling relatives or people that may have known them in the day. Luckily, several photographers generously gave the authors pictures to include in the book. Greg said some of the personal photos they acquired directly from the relatives of the wrestlers were the best.

Steven said the best part of doing the book was a lot of guys wouldn’t have had their stories told otherwise because although they may not have been remarkable as single wrestlers, they were absolutely tag team specialists. Because of this, many of these athletes have not received the recognition they deserved.

Discussion turned to the dying art of tag team wrestling. Steven said that although tag teams “were really off the charts” in the late 80s with Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard, The British Bulldogs, the Road Warriors, for example, they took a nosedive in the early 90s. And back in the old days, many of these teams stayed together for 20 years or more, and unheard of feat today.

When the authors talked to Terry Taylor for the book, he said that even though he personally had tremendous success in tag teams, he found it difficult to write tag team matches for TV. Often he would turn to other men with tag team expertise such as Arn Anderson to help write the match. The authors theorize that by using “Hollywood writers,” like they do at the WWE, these writers don’t have a clue about how to write a tag team match, thus contributing to the demise of the style.

Asked who the most underrated tag team was, Steven cited the “Bicentennial Kings,” Dennis Condrey and Phil Hickerson as an example most given by others. He said many people thought these two men were extremely talented but never quite made it “big” for some reason or another.

The book is currently available at better bookstores and online at www.slam.ca.

William Alvin Moody, better known to some as Percival Pringle III and to most as Paul Bearer, began his interview with talk about his special contractual status at WWE as a “Legend.” His contract includes a multi-year affiliation with WWE that allows him to enjoy the best of worlds, the connection to the behemoth World Wrestling Entertainment and the involvement in the independent wrestling promotions he adores. Called a “win, win situation” by Percy himself, he has a new Paul Bearer action figure coming out soon and he can now also take outside bookings for the first time in 14 years.

When the conversation turned to his new action figure, he joked that it will require less plastic to complete it, referring to his recent gastric bypass surgery. The surgery was the result of a signing bonus he received when he re-signed his contract with the WWE. He said in 2003 he topped off at 525 lbs. “I was dying.” Percy said. Right about that time, Jim Ross called him. He was ashamed of the weight he had gained, so he did not return Jim Ross’ phone calls. He eventually did contact Jim by email, declining the offer to appear with the Undertaker in Wrestlemania XX. Percy said, “(There was) no way in hell I could go on the road.” Jim knew something was up and eventually Percy confided in him about his life-threatening health dilemma. The WWE decided to sign him for three years with the added bonus of financing the life-saving surgery that he could not afford. Unfortunately, at that time the weight loss surgery left him feeling weak because he was sometimes losing two pounds a day, so prior to his appearance in Wrestlemania XX, the decision was made to “bury” Paul Bearer. Still, he is happy about the weight loss—now enjoying weighing less than 300 lbs. for the first time in 20 years. “I can see some body parts I haven’t seen in a long time, “he said.

A few moments were spent talking about the recent death of Lord Alfred Hayes, the former announcer at WWF. Percy relayed a story about how in 1991, he appeared as Paul Bearer on the old WWF primetime wrestling talk show demonstrating how the embalming process works. Both Bobby “The Brain” Heenan and Vince McMahon were there and he said his most vivid memory of that experience was that Lord Alfred Hayes played the corpse during the demonstration.

When Percy talks about his ongoing relationship with WWE, he describes his affiliation as being a “dream world.” Prior to getting there in 1990, he was out of work as a wrestling manager and contemplating returning to his former profession in funeral service. His old friend, Rick Rude, told him to hold on and hooked him up with Vince McMahon within days. He describes when Vince found out about his former profession, he laughed and said, “We are looking for a manager for the Undertaker,” making the job a perfect fit. Although Paul Bearer was ‘buried” in concrete at Wrestlemania XX, he’s leaving it open-ended, “As long as there is an Undertaker and Kane, the Paul Bearer can come back anytime.”

A listener asked about kayfabe and whether he thinks it will ever return to wrestling. Percy made a definitive, “no.” He continued, “The man behind the curtain has been exposed.” Another listener asked who he enjoyed managing the most. Percy describes all his “charges” as his children, that it would be hard to pick one as a favorite. However as far as longevity, he picked the Undertaker, adding that he worked with a lot of great guys over the years.

Percy, a notorious wrestling fan, admits “If there’s wrestling, I’m there.” He’s been attending independent shows lately in the Gulf Coast area near his home in Mobile. He joked, “My wife makes me go.” Percy resides in Mobile, Alabama with his wife and youngest son. You can read much more about Percy’s life and career at www.percypringle.com.

This week, Sunday, July 31, Doc and Les welcome Samoa Joe. Joe, the former Ring of Honor Superstar, recently made his debut at NWA-TNA Slammiversay to defeat Sonjay Dutt proving that he is not only an awesome force in stature but one in agility as well. Find out from Joe what it was like working his way up in the wrestling ranks from UPW to RoH to TNA, about his appearance during the opening ceremonies of the 1984 Olympics at the tender age of 5, having his own wrestling talk show, coming from a family of prominent Polynesian dancers, plus much more!

Okay keep going,Edge wins but Kane takes him out,Kane goes toward Lita, QUE COMMERCIAL. Couple minutes later it comes back on,Lita in a ambulence and Kane takes her away.

Anyone than can give me a video of the stretcher match or a clip of Kane taking out Lita,PM me please.

Can't get you a video of it but here's what you missed:

Kane goes for the chockslam on Lita, lifts her up to chockslam her off the stage but Edge hit Kane with the breifcase, Lita escapses unharmed. From here Edge takes charged.

Kane picks Lita up, and Tomestones her on the stage (we don't get the best shot of it, but that's a good thing because Tombstones never really connect anymore if you know what I mean). The shot was from behind making it look sick. Kane walks away. EMT's rush out to check on Lita. Edge gets up to check on Lita and Matt Hardy rushed from off camera and a slugfest starts between the two. Seconds later security break them up and Edge can clearly be seen saying "Fuck you!" "You shit!" Edge tries to get into it, but they're pretty much broekn up. Comercial break. Return from comercial and Lita is lifted into the ambulence. Kane shows up, throws two EMTs around, punchs out a cop, hops into the cab of the ambulance and takes off with the doors still open in the back.

Sucks that TSN always cuts stuff out. You'll probably be able to find a torrent of Raw tomorrow on most torrents sites.
